Comparison about-face and koh gen do

My best match ever is still the Koh Gen Do 213, but I hope now, with the new about face shades, I can play around when my skin is lighter or darker than normal.

I'm sharing this comparison since I haven't seen it in the reddit so far.

I included photos with flash and without flash, swatch and then blending the swatch a little bit.

F2 looks too light and L2 looks too yellow. I think Koh gen do still looks the best.

You can use bronzer to darken areas of your face for F2. And maybe a colour mixer, corrector or primer for the L2?

For real. I tend to be fair/light in the summer. F2 is perfect for me right now, but I can tell it'll be too light for me in the summer, but L2 will for sure be too dark and yellow for me.

I literally just bought L2 and LM2 to make this same comparison today!

L2 Olive is definitely closer to KGD 213. it's not a perfect dupe, but for $22 and being able to walk into an Ulta to get it, it's a very good alternative.

God I wanted L2Olive to fit me too but it’s just too yellow for me too!

This also pm confirms for me that 213 would be my perfect winter match, but fuck if I’m spending that kind of money rn

You can get kgd for about $42 us on YesStyle right now. They seem to have it priced comparable to mid priced is brands a lot I find. The moisture foundation is a little less

I don't think any of these are a perfect match to be honest 😭 but 213 is pretty damn close!! I could be completely wrong though

I’ve had to mix L2olive with F2olive which makes the perfect match for me but in the future it is likely about face will release more shades to fill in the gaps. I’m really impressed with the formula and performance of it. I also like the name of it and it immediately made me think, “oh this is gonna be good because Halsey probably made this to hold up during concerts and touring.” Love the packaging too. No complaints from me the only point of contention is I do hope the shades are further expanded on in the future which honestly probably already is the plan

Given it’s about face’s first foundation ever and the company is aroundish 5 years old I’m going to give them grace because they launched with 45 shades and given they aren’t a massive company that’s been around for decades to have tons of wealth or in Rihana’s circumstances with her star power no wonder she was able to launch Fenty with so many products like a whole entire line from the get go because the parent company of Louis Vuitton who is mega rich was financing Fenty meaning they had so much money to do whatever they wanted to. Halsey doesn’t have that kind of star power as she hasn’t been in the public eye for as long as Rihana and I do think you could argue she didn’t get to the same level of fame as Riri with music but all that being said I am exited to see what else about face does it’s actually my favorite celebrity brand due to the products being high performance. Probably the same with Selena Gomez I bet she was able to secure a lot of investments to be able to launch with a whole line from the start. (This is a rant) I’m sorry to Selena Gomez but Rare Beauty entirely revolves around her and her image like she’s the face of each campaign just like Kim K with all her brands (Riri too) and it didn’t bug me at first but now it kinda does I don’t know how to explain it it’s like okay I get this is your company I knew that from the beginning now get out of my face with it. Halsey to me has found the jackpot with how they do it like they aren’t the top model in each campaign (how Jeffrey Star would have all the models pose around him and he was the focal point and Kim K is so insecure she doesn’t pose with anyone but herself) but when a new product launches they are featuring it in a video like how to use it. Really love about face and I’m excited to see what all they do next. I do hope the next foundation shades are the gap fillers
