Breeders/Locations in the Raleigh-Durham area/state to buy Border Collie Puppy?
photographyYeah, the shelters a full of only one type of dog now sadly and unless you are in the market for a fighting dog then it's a pointless endeavor. Keeping working class dogs that make great pets around by paying reputable breeders is perfectly fine. Adopting at the pound now only helps out dog fighters (NC is almost always #1), the shelter's "boomerang dog payment scam" along with the plethora of unlicensed and unregistered backyard breeders whom end up soaking up taxpayer money to house their puppy mill abominations.
I currently work with two people and am friends with two others whom were all victims of dog attacks by fighting dogs allowed to roam around unleashed inside city limits. In all 4 cases the owner took zero responsibility and none of them had the money to cover the surgeries that ranged from $50,000-$150,000 just so the victims could have mobility in their limbs and look as close to normal as possible. I don't care what apologists have to say, it's a major problem in this state and in this country right now.
So no op, don't feel the least be bad about paying for a good breed of dog that is safe for your family and the rest of the community.
This is a horrifyingly bad take. Has the same feel as when my mom talked me out of my childhood dream of becoming a zoologist because “those people don’t make any money and can’t afford to have a family”. Utter nonsense and full of fear mongering, half truths, and baseless statistics. Out west the pounds are all full of border collies because they are the most popular dogs in the area. It’s all about supply and demand. Breeders breed according to demand. And the more of that breed they make, the more they end up in shelters. Breeders are just pedigree puppy mills. They are part of the same problem.
Has the same feel as when my mom
lmao it’s a bad take but this was cringe
Cringe is calling something cringe. What are you, 12?
Because I’m the one comparing reddit comments to unrelated childhood advice from my mother? 🤣
Oh yeah, I forgot that any reference to a persons own mother is an immediate admission of mommy issues. I think you’re just projecting buddy.
Who said mommy issues? I said it was cringe, and it is. Maybe a freudian slip?
