One of the biggest things I miss about day shift that I didn't realize beforehand. I recently went to Vegas and absolutely loved the strip and the casino. I didn't even gamble until I was at the airport waiting for my flight home, it was just that there were people everywhere, it was freeing to be one of an endless amount of unique individuals all doing their own thing.

Unfortunately because of my job location I live far from the city, and have only half a dozen midsize apartment buildings and a shopping center within walking distance of me, but it's absolutely dead between 10 pm and 5am, with most of the foot traffic being commuters.

I could go into the inner suburbs where it's almost all apartments, but I'll have to choose between an hour on the train and 45 minutes + figuring out parking.

Am I missing anything here? I live in a pretty white color area so most people are 9-5. I am already thinking of moving somewhere like New York so I don't have to deal with this but that's unfortunately long term plans.
