The Staircase trailhead has a few great trails (did the Staircase Rapids Trail with family on our trip there two years ago) and is only a 2 hour drive from Seattle. It's like being in an enchanted forest
Thank you! I’ll research that area. You just saved me a lot of time!
There are a lot of excellent trails on the Hood Canal side of the peninsula. Any of the river valleys are lovely. They're mostly in Olympic National Forest at first, but about five to ten miles into the trail, you will cross the park border.
GREAT! Do you have a favorite river valley trail there? I’ll also research the area today!
This is filtered for the Hood Canal eastern side of the Olympic Peninsula which is nearest to Seattle.
Bear in mind this won’t be the extremely lush temperate rainforest you’d get on the west side, but it is still plenty lush and representative of a lot of Pacific Northwest forest.
Lovely photos! It's amazing how varied that park is. I cannot wait to visit again.
That log was at the top of the waterfall when I visited last year. I wonder how long it has been there and how long it will remain
Incredible. Would love the locations of each photo if you don’t mind sharing
1 & 2 are Hurricane Ridge
3 to 6 are Lake Crescent
This is the most amazing National Park....hands down my favorite. Thank you for the pictures!
Amazing. Beautiful photos.
Love Olympic! Of the parks I’ve been to (maybe 10?) Olympic was my favorite. So much diversity there.
What was your favorite part?
In all of my research, folks always recommend the north & west portions of the park. Does anyone have a south/east part that they love (more of a day use area drivable from Seattle)?
