Polish is tough to keep on if you’re working hard with your hands, and you put your hands through the wringer!
Gloves do help, but i feel like its the flexing of the nail and finger that causes breaks. Press ons are a whole shell that shifts.
You could use dip or builder gel. I can get so much longevity with those
If you ever want to, try Essie strong base coat with Essie gel couture top coat (it's not really a gel, idk why they named it that). I'm a guy who's hard on my hands, though not as hard as you are! and those two coats keep everything looking great for a week or more.
I like them and I think the shape compliments your hands nicely

Double gloves and careful hand work. My hands and nails used to get very beat up with just work gloves. Water, emulsion, abrasion, all bad news bears. So i wear nitriles under my work gloves. They get sweaty and kinda pruned, but otherwise they are great. Bounce back within a few minutes anyway.
Keep them covered and be very generous with brush on glue lol

Is it the Kiss brand by chance? That shit STICKS. Their lash adhesive is also great to the point I have to pry them off lol.
Btw, just want to say, FANTASTIC nails. I think we need more people in tough jobs advertising them tbh. I used to bartend, and I'd be 100% more likely to buy a brand with a representative like you. If a construction worker or bartender or house cleaner wears them, I want to know!
If you don't like the moisture, you can get glove liners that wick the moisture out. That'd basically be 3 gloves though, perhaps a glove too far.
Nah its fine. You get used to it and its not bad. I drink at least 2-3L of water a day so the prunes go away quick

Those nails actually look REALLY good. I would have thought them real! I may have to check them out. Follow up Q - do you have short nails underneath? I worry mine are too short for press-ons to really work. :( I am growing themout some, but they're still MEH at best.
I had my nails cut as far back as possible when i started trying press/glue ons. Mine are kinda grown out now, but nowhere near the length of the fake nails.
Try ImPress Expressions. Cheap at walmart, full press on and they have nice short nail options. Theres a silver/rainbow glitter one i like to keep on hand.
OK, I'm starting to think you're the expert we were all needing.
I love, love, love OPI's press on colors, but have the WORST luck with them. They split or chunks break off the tips within 36 hours every time. I put the Scorpio zodiac ones on Friday morning and one split and another broke before dinner. 😭
I don't have the same problem with Glamnetic or KISS. Static will chip/break in roughly the same time frame. I'm glad they're working for you! I'm probably just too rough on them.
If i can get 36 hours at work, ill be happy. Having gloves on over them helps a lot

I'm also NB and in the trades. I do facility maintenance for a college, and I definitely get a little bit of judgement for painting my nails. What's your experience been like? These fields are full of dudebros who are very opinionated on who should be allowed to put paint on their hands...
Wouldnt have been able to do this at old jobs. This one though, i love all the people i work with. Theres a lot of trust we need to have in eachother to stay safe and keep everyone around us safe, so it naturally builds a good work environment. Plus, they are all godd people at heart and they see me outworking kids 10 years yonger than me with waterproof makeup and braided hair. If they have any issues with me, i habent heard them yet lol. We obviously rip on eachother for various things, but thats no different than any friend group.

Generous amounts of brushed on glue. I also wear nitrile gloves under working gloves. Takes a bit to relearn how long your fingers are, but i think ive got it down. No issues with keeping up with everything today

Gotta ask, do you have pretty wide nail beds and usually have trouble finding press ons that fit? That's my current boat, I've found the Olive and June fit but not many else

Dont be afraid to really mush down on them and make them form to your nail. Brush on glue works way better than the stick applicator. And be generous with the glue.

I find that they bend and flex better than paint. Really gotta make sure you get good glue coverage (brush on glue) and really press them down. Imagine the science behind gluing wood blocks with a clamp. Press down and spread the glue into the nooks ans crannys. Use your nail file to rough them up

Those OPI press-ons are so solid! I've been loving them lately too. (Weird sidenote if you're going to buy more -- in my experience, the long length ones are way stronger. The medium and short ones are almost flimsy in comparison.)
