Probably more traumatizing than actual harm. Squirrels have a very low terminal velocity and can fall from extreme heights without getting maimed

I've seen one of these before where the squirrel hit a tree branch and just grabbed it and went on about its day. I'm sure it's fine.

Cats are a lot bigger than squirrels, though. Basically mass increases more than volume as things get bigger, so below a certain size animals can safely fall from any height. Lots of other factors, but most stuff squirrel-sized or smaller won't be seriously hurt from a fall. Cats are generally on the wrong side of that line, but by a smallish margin.
