This only allows me to choose one tag but I’m open to hear any kind of genre!!
What song has you hooked right now?
Rec.Me: Your favorite music (anything)MILLION DOLLAR BABY IS SO GOOD!
What is it with this song. Were all hooked on it.
Except this one guy who said I had lame taste in music lol to which I replied wanna do song wars?
What else you listening to?
Song is fire. Im all over the place. Don Toliver, Key Glock, Spanish Trap/Reggaeton. Ive been just throwing Million dollar baby on and letting spotify shuffle. His catalog is decent for such a young artist.
Came here to say this, certified bop
Dude yea
Ding!
Literally came here to say this. Everytime it comes on my girlfriend and I dance together even in public
Woooooow man... I love this.
This is the one
Let It Happen - Tame Impala
That song and album have this weird nostalgia for me
Very catchy tune. A lot of their stuff is pretty hit or miss for me, but when it hits it hits big.
It’s actually pretty much one guy
Was gonna put this. It's so fucking good
Listening to it now for the first time. Loving it!
He's an amazing artist. If you really want to fall into the rabbit hole, go listen to Hi Ren on YouTube next...
No problem. Always happy to make a new RENegade. Enjoy the ride. It's a wild one.
I am 50 years old and i used to DJ 20 - 30 years ago. Ren has invigorated my love of music. I would recommend the Tales Of Jenny And Screech. Watch the full version, all three songs in one, its 13 minutes long. It showcases his creativity and skill, both as musician and storytelling. He did the songs in one shot, all live, one take. So much greatness in this
Happy happy joy joy
Pretty much all I listen to is Ren lately
I am a renegade, but this is not my favorite song by him. Having said this, i find myself repeating the chorus ever since it came out, what 2 weeks ago?
Thanks.
REN’s a real one. Haven’t heard this yet. 🤜🤛
YESSSS
Jane - Jefferson Starship
Dirty Work - Steely Dan are my current earworms
Did you watch Wet Hot American Summer recently? Because I always have Jane stuck in my head after watching it!
I haven't seen it in a few years. It's such an amazing cast. I was driving to work in the morning and the radio idiots were playing it in the background of their banter. So I turned them off and opened my Spotify 🎶👍
So good
Jane is 🔥
I used to be in a very noisy punk rock band and after practices I would always put on Dirty Work on my way home. It was like getting into cold pool after being in a super hot jacuzzi. Felt so relaxing.
Jane rips. I blast it on the way to work. Gets me pumped
Ck out King Princess’ version of Dirty Work. It’s beautiful.
I didn't care for her vocal styling in the verse but when the chorus hit I'm like 🤩💯. So good
Don’t you worry bout a thing; Stevie Wonder, Inversions, 1973
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxsBc5p-dPU
SFW, not a Rick roll.
KILLER TASTE
So much good music on those albums from the early 70s, I’ve been on a Stevie kick too! Golden Lady on repeat
A true banger
Oh No! By The Decemberists
I don't wanna be me - Type O Negative. Found them out yesterday and this song has been on loop since
Prophets of Doom is my favorite song of theirs. It’s up there with I don’t wan be me
Oh my! Enjoy.
Yeah that’s my high school music! Loved it
oooohhh and Be My Druidess and Anesthesia
Wowwww I wish I could re-hear Type O again for the first time. I envy you, you're in for quite a treat. World Coming Down and October Rust are both masterpieces.
Royel Otis cover of “Murder on the dance floor.” Sooo good
Yessss also their YouTube sessions cover of linger is phenomenal
Agreed!! They have both been on repeat for me lol
I just heard this on Spotify the other day and loved it!
THEY NOT LIKE US
Feels like everyone else in this sub decided to do “wrong answers only” lol. If not They Not Like Us then for sure Euphoria!
This right here. That song is too funny and the beat slaps.
Came here to say this too. I've heard this song bumpin in people's cars as they drive by multiple times in the last week also
That damn Espresso song:)
“I’m working late cuz I’m a singerrrrr” 🎤🎵
Twilight by Elliot smith
Elliott smith has so many incredible songs. A Fond Farewell / Kings Crossing absolutely destroy me every time. And Needle In The Hay… my god I dare you to find a faster way to make a grown man cry.
I know bro a needle in the hay :( I named my kitty after Elliot smith
Hope ur doing good. Twilight is one of my favorites of Elliott’s. One of his saddest too.
I always loved the song Groove is in the heart by Deee lite, so I recently bought their album and it’s damn good!
i need to relearn that bass line and use it for soundchecks!
There is a podcast called One Song that has an episode about that song. I’d recommend the podcast in general.
Cigarette Daydreams -Cage The Elephant
Somehow I missed it when it first came out and just discovered it recently. I don’t even like this band all that much but I very much enjoy this song.
“So sweet, with a mean streak”
Good song.
They peaked on their first album then went indie. They had energetic rock with some chaos, then jumped on the wave. Still good tunes, but the first album slaps the hardest for me.
Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood - The Animals
The Animals are criminally underrated. Eric Burdon is one of my favorite vocalists of all time.
Ice Cream, by the Black Pumas
Dog Years by Maggie Rogers, very positive and optimistic
The pixies - Where is my mind??
Crumbling castle - king gizzard, Lazarus by Porcupine Tree, Also a lot of Yes, mostly stuff from The Yes Album.
Starship Trooper ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Because the Night - Patty Smyth
they not like us they not like us
Christine and the Queens - "People, I've been sad"
love Chris so much, bop
Incredible track!
that whole album is amazing 😅 the opener “cherry-colored funk,” the title track “heaven or las vegas,” just crazy good. now thinking about it—i need to find a good remaster!
Yeah I’ve been really digging their music lately. Might try going thru their discography but it’s kinda long lol. So far only listened to “Las Vegas” and “Treasure”.
anything/everything off of the “heaven or las vegas” album, good stuff.
Check out the title track to "Blue Bell Knoll" Absolutely unique and so beautiful.
Not a song per se, but basically all of Pearl Jam’s discography. It’s incredible.
Mushaboom by Feist
I just listened to Aquemini by Outkast for the first time this week and every single song on that album is either a jam, a bop, or a banger. If you want the highlights, check out Rosa Parks, Aquemini, Slump, Da Art of Storytelling parts 1 & 2, and Spottieottiedopaliscious.
Suffocate - Knocked Loose ft Poppy
That whole album, man. Wow.
More of an artist than a song. Tyler Childers
I was stuck on Caamp for a year or two, then Childers, now I’m on a serious Zach Bryan kick
I'm currently stuck on Charley Crockett!
You should give a listen to King Lazy Eye. He's from Tennessee, still very new but so good. Bullets and Boomerangs or Loaded Gun
Blues travelers but anyway
Chihiro by Billie Eilish
soooo good
young strapping lad - detox
The Smile - Teleharmonic
It's peak Thom and Jonny.
On/Off- Maggie Rogers
Get Ready - Smokey Robinson (“Smokey and Friends” album version)
I dont listen to songs singularly, so this is the playlist that i always use for casual listening. I dont skip songs on this one ever, so this is what i listen to fully raw lol. Side note: you wont be able to see all of it, since some of it is downloaded from youtube, so theres like 30-50 songs missing.

It’s been on repeat in my car and in my head for a couple of days now.
Tears For Fears - Pale Shelter
This ear worm makes its way into my head with some regularity, like this morning. I love how it blends acoustic guitar with synthesizers and drum machine. The melody and bass progression are simple, but catchy af. The vocals are subdued, but the call and response push them into the forefront. This is one I’ve been hooked on for 40+ years.
The final scene from Happy Feet 2 with all the elephant seals, penguins and krill dancing. A combination of Under Pressure and Rhythm Nation.

Paul Young - I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down (Official Video) (youtube.com)
Last month the PDBass YouTube channel did a breakdown of the bass part and sound ... and I've monkeyed around with the part and listened to the song a hundred times since!
I always liked Paul Young’s voice.
Amore Profondo - Sparrow & Barbossa (Caiiro Remix)
7 minutes full of grace and summer vibes, if you are into deep house.
Heard it the first time at the end of april. At sunset, at lake constance, directly at the waterfront in lindau. Live DJ's "Onfaya".
My girl, the sunset above the water, after an beautiful day at the lake, the first real glimpse of the upcoming summer and then they played this banger...stuck in my head and I love it!
Wish I could upload one of the pictures I took from the sunset.

Nice! I'll have to check that one out, I've only heard a few of hers. I'm also into Jessie Frye, her 80s synthwave sound is amazing! Especially Faded Memory, Angel, and Fantasy.
THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND by bad omens whole album
Paper Tiger - Beck
A YouTuber recommend it as a song he uses as a reference track to get to know new speakers when mixing and mastering. And now I’m obsessed with it.
Blues Travelers- the hook
Maniac by mackelmore
I got too many, but right I'm in a down mood so I'm playing through
Sounds of Silence album by Simon & Garfunkel—always heard the titular song but this is my first time getting through the entire list this time. “Who the Cap Fit” by Bob Marley I’ve known this song for almost 30 years, but the lyrics of the song and it’s meaning have really hit home for me lately. ✌️❤️💛💚🤙
Sowing the seeds of love, by Tears for Fears. I totally under appreciated this song when it came out, but now I get it! Lots of interesting things going on in this song, you can definitely tell Roland is a perfectionist but also a stellar song writer.
