He's been pickking up his daughter from high school for over 2 years with a song. Today he picked her up for the last time.
Wholesome MomentsDressed the part, too! 🥰
Mu'fuckas don't understand what "main character energy" even is.
And if they're focusing on a specific subset of the lyrics and extrapolating from that, they're telling on themselves.
Here comes the down votes.... So why is the camera mostly on the father? Isn't this her accomplishment? r/ImTheMainCharacter
I’ll share some downvotes with you. This is BIG r/iamthemaincharacter energy
Exactly how dare parents try to
Checks notes
Be Goofy and loving towards their own children!
You forgot the part where they filmed it champ
so they filmed what is going to be the final chapter in an important part of his daughter's life.
so?
Refer to my first comment
He sings "I'll give love to you"
I get Main Character vibes here.
White tube socks would have pulled together his Dad look a little more. Good job with the jorts, though.
Nah that's the Motownphilly look.
Not to hard not to soft.
My husband and I have always joked that if we ever bought a farm, we were going to get a horse and name her Motown. She’d be our Motownfilly.
Nah, those are boomers; this man is Gen-X with the real swag.
Came here to mention the jorts. Good day.

Yeah she's definitely not going to fall for just any guy who shows her a small amount of affection. Dads like this show girls that they should expect someone who loves and respects them.
Good dad.
Yea but imagine going on a date with someone and you actually try to show you care and she pulls a “well my daddy did so and so” and you gotta wonder whether she’s talking about her dad or you’re just on a side dude mission 😂 all jokes aside this was amazing as a father it made me choke up a bit 🥹
You know, you could get kicked off an NFL football team for such virtuous comments as this. Aw, what the heck; I’ll get kicked of with ya, man.
A song is a song, and this is a good song. It is the end of the road for high school.
This guy … :-) What a sweetie! And what a lucky girl to know she’s loved, even if it was embarrassing!
When I was turning 13 in late August, my dad had been working a lot of overtime so he had a little extra money. For the first time in my life, I got to shop for school clothes in a department store instead of looking through bags of other people’s hand-me-downs.
It was the best birthday present ever! I got to choose two new outfits, and oh, were those decisions agonizing!
As I dithered over some tops, I caught a commotion out of the corner of my eye. I turned to see my normally serious, reserved dad capering about with a padded bra on his head, band tied under his chin and cups sticking up on top like Mickey Mouse ears. He was grinning and pointing at me, loudly announcing that he was my dad and generally being so embarrassingly goofy! It was so out of character for the dad I knew as a child—he rarely smiled and even more rarely laughed.
I pretended to be mad, but underneath I cherished every second of it. It was only as an adult decades later that I realized he must have been giddy with happiness at being able to buy me new school clothes for once. And I felt loved all over again in that moment, even though he was gone by then.
This is so sweet (and also written so beautifully). It’s wonderful that you have this memory.
And what a lucky girl to know she’s loved, even if it was embarrassing!
And even if she's embarrassed now, twenty years from now it'll be a cherished memory.
Beautiful!
Good man and great father right there.
I think he was only focusing on “The End of the Road” part of the song, not the “we belong together and now we are breaking up” part of the song. I’ve heard this song played at graduations before and I think everyone understood the intent.
It’s like when people sing “Isn’t She Lovely” to their spouse when it’s about a baby.
Or "Loving You" by Minnie Riperton, which was a lullaby for her (then toddler) daughter Maya Rudolph (of SNL, Bridesmaids, The Good Place etc fame). But it's even harder to tell that from the lyrics to that than "Isn't she lovely".
I'm sure you're right about "End of the Road"... that's the segment he's got on repeat.
+rep dad
It's the "arrgguuoooo" He let's out to no cry that gets me.
Great dad. I use to do this to my kids all the time. Oh wait there not in school anymore and I still do that when we go out in public. Start dancing with strangers in the grocery stores and singing with them.
🤭🤗
My dad did a lot of stuff when I was a growing up. I thought it was annoying. Didn’t know until I got old. That was very special.
Damn I’ve felt this shit.
I love his energy! Awesome dad!
Those kids be like: is that song from the 40s?
What a sweet dad.
This song doesn't quite land when talking about a father-daughter relationship.
kinda like that Arrested Development episode with Michael and Maeby singing Afternoon delight. lol
LMFAO please
This was the graduation song of the early 90s. So many grad ceremony slideshows set to this jam.
"Stop that! Don't you know I disapprove!?"
Thank you. I thought it was only me. It made me uncomfortable.
Thanks! I’m crying now
Why are people so hung up on the song. Y’all are fucking weirdos
This.
Embarrassing AF
Everyone at school roasts her 😆
Good for this family. Glad it works for them. My daughter and I have a loving relationship. If I pulled up to school like this, she would immediately have those Superman eyes and kill me with lasers.
Congratulations! The easy part is over!
For gosh sakes give her the damn flowers!
Long sleeve with shorts is a no no. lol
Dad goals. Parent goals. Life goals. Love it.
It's a good song but it's not really appropriate for a father and daughter
😂 it's a song that's used in graduation. They're more focused on the lyrics "Although we've come to the end of the road, still I can't let go" part of it.
She's a lucky kid!
Looks like a father to me ❤️👍😎✅💰🍺
Idk, looks like he's just doing this for clout, he puts her in the car and then forgets about her and keeps milking the video.
I'm crying.
this seems weird to me, but she seems to enjoy it, so, there's that.
Cute but had borderline Main character vibes. Glad he even bothered based on a lot of "dads". ,☺️
I feel this is more of a "hey look at me" than doing something nice for his daughter
You must have a miserable life. Everyone is the main character of their lives and he isnt doing anything to harm anyone wtf is wrong with this lmao.
Lol jorts nice
He better cherish them Jean shorts one day they’ll blow out…promise
That dad 100% bought those flowers for himself hahahahah
Look at me Louie
So sweet. Hope everyone has that someone in their life who will sing and dance their heart out <3
Lucky. It’s nice to see what could be, so I could find that for my future children! My dad left my graduation before I even got on stage, because he had a headache. He texted me congrats.
Go Dad!!
You KNOW she's going to college out of state, right?
Seriously sweet.
Amazing father. She's going to have the high standards she deserves to have, that's for sure. He's the perfect example of unconditional love
Why does he have to make it about him?
I guess it's a joint 'end of the road' for both because that has been their thing for years. He's been picking her up with a song and performance over the years.
It's about them though.
He brought flowers! It was probably a ritual they shared for years. What, she was gonna just get in the car and go home anyways, like any normal day. He made it special. She could've done something similar but he actually went the extra mile to show her it meant something to him.
why r u so cynical
Same could be said about the dad haha
If the dad was cynical. He'd either not pick her up and/or wouldnt try to make her smile at the end of the day.
thats the vibe I got too first time watching it. Watched it a second time and I was totaly wrong.
Love it
He has some really fun videos. Mom even joins in sometimes. Good stuff and great memories for the kids.
Core memory has been created. Good job dad.
Dads are critical to a daughters development this is proven scientifically! Bravo for any Dad that goes the extra mile. It’s hard work. It’s easier to be lazy.
Not with the jorts…with a tucked in shirt and a tie
Daddyhood, best job EVER!
That man loves his daughter. So much support ❣️❣️❣️
ROFL, but in a good way!
Runs away next day

That’s right!! Great song
This is awesome :) he's very proud.
Bringing the Boyz-2-men look back??
She crying 👀
Successful and present, that's how all fathers should be. Their success not measured in gold or time tendered to a contract, but instead measured to time nurturing and keeping their family together!
What a great dude 👏
Her prom date stands no chance
This legit brought tears to my eyes. My daughter just turned 21. Right in the feels.
🤣🤣 It almost backfired on him because I’m sure he just wanted to embarrass his kid but then she got emotional and then HE started to get emotional and had to save it lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Cute
Awww GenX dad loves his old skool Boys 2 Men!
Someone didn’t get attention at home as a child.
Great dad!
S tier dadding!
Goals! 15 years from now I’m remaking this ish right here with my daughter
We need more fathers in this world just like him!
This will be her core memory forever ♾️ I wish both of them to have a healthy happy life may her dad gets to witness all the major success in her life may he stand strong by her ❤️ Lot's of Love ❤️
I ♥️ this right here!!!!!! Thanks for the idea for mine! Hahahaha!
I’ve been watching his videos for a while. They usually make me laugh, but this one got me in my feels.
This guy gets life.
Lucky family.
😭
Good job fellow Dad, he killed it
Well done papa. ♥️
It's just allergies...the feels have nothing to do with my teary eyes...
This is so sweet!
She's so lucky to have a loving father? ❤️
Great dad
Awesome! Outfit n' everything!
Big Dad Energy!
I say proud of the daughter for not being embarrassed in front of her friends
Awesome man. Hope I get to be a father just as amazing as he is
I love How he made it about him 🤭
Awesome dad skills. 🥰
Eeeeeeww the things people do for attention…..
Main character energy. Her anxiety at the end of the day must skyrocket
...did you watch the video? She's a teenager, that hugged her "OLD MAN" in front of her classmates. She was smiling and crying. Thats not anxiety my dude.
I think there's something in my eye. Most kids would be terribly embarrassed. Maybe she's used to it and has accepted it? This is the sweetest thing ever! You will always remember this about her dad.
She might hate this now, but she'll look back at these moments with fond memories
Now that’s a true dad right there. Awesome stuff.
He even has the correct fit for the song. She is such a lucky girl
Where T F do you find parents like this?!? This is so awesome. Mine would literally never do this for me or anything like this. I’m pretty sure they were annoyed I was born lol.
Wrong song, wrong song, wrong fucking song.
I didn't even know IceJJFish had a daughter.

People are more worried about the song of choice than the fact that this man is going above and beyond to make sure his daughter feels loved. Props to this man! She clearly feels it, too.
