D.C. United File Discovery Rights Claim On Philadelphia Union Raccoon
Sorry, what? It's like you think you still have territorial rights over a demolished stadium. Raquinho has been through so much, and finally has a family who LOVE him, and this is what you do??
Those trash cans are a strange love language, I gotta say
Even though it's strange, for Philly, that's a good love language.
Smh he loves trash, do you even know anything about him???
Which makes chasing him with empty trash cans all the worse! Y’all were taunting the little guy!
In my mind it's no different than lying to my kids about letting them watch something on my phone if they're good. Yeah, MAYBE there's TV/trash on/in my/my groundskeeper's phone/trashcan. But sometimes my phone isn't working/all the trash accidentally fell out of the trashcan before I turned it over on you, bud.
Explains why he went to Philadelphia
Never thought I'd hear Chester erasure in 2024 but I guess I shouldn't be surprised
RFK stadium isn't demolished
I love this sport so much.
I mean we need some quality center backs. Any idea what position Raquinho is?
Box-to-box mid, clearly has the workrate. Could see play on the wings, has the confidence to take 1v1s, but we didn’t see any floated crosses here, so I’m not willing to commit on the depth chart.
Yeah, but can he play on the left side?
Only if you want an inverted winger there. He has two right feet.
Yeah well Jared Stroud and Aaron Herrera are doing the dirty work on the right side. We need SOMEONE to deliver service from the left
Everything Jared Stroud does is dirty #JusticeForKippKeller
Yeah, but can he play well on a rainy night in Columbus?
He plays more as a crafty winger. Explosive speed. Great stamina. However his jumping reach leaves much to be desired. But he can certainly avoid tackles.
He didn't score last night, but it was a great showing from the youngster, definitely has potential, I'm excited to see where he goes in the future.
He can literally smell a goal before he pounces on it.
Stronger on the right or the left?
He's adept at both sides. But it looked like he was much more natural on the left side of the pitch
Had all kinds of joy up and down the touch line tbf
seems like he could be a pretty versatile player tbh if camavinga can do it, so can raquinho
Has the big ol' paws to be a GK, for sure.
How old is he? I think we have an U22 slot available right?
He’s for sure U2’2”
Inb4 he goes to Mexico for a year before ending up in Cincy.
(Cries in Lucho fan)
Any and all raccoons are belong to DC United.
Good luck trying to gatekeep raccoons.
You clearly don’t know MLS history lol.
Probably not. I'm a raccoon. I care only about eating garbage and supporting Toronto FC.
Ohhh got ya lol.
We aren’t known as Raccoon city for no reason.
On one hand, the duck that caused the Galaxy to concede 5 goals
On the other hand, the cat that ended Mike Petke's career
Thankfully they did not get onto the field!
He may already on his way to work in Italy, maybe Serie A https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7CE4XjIHOs/?igsh=MjJtYTJxODk2aDR5
How did Chris Albright miss this? Nobody is better at discovery rights than him!
“This is clearly our domain and we feel that some significant financial compensation must be in place to redress our loss in playing time,” stated on D.C. United spokesman.
Sources say that this is just the tip of the iceberg for the fight for the burgeoning Union youth player as the Philadelphia Union are ready to counter that just because he may have a United descendant that Raccinho was, in fact, a Union academy member for the past 4 years.
“The Raccoon is from Philadelphia and debuted in Chester, he will stay in Philadelphia,” stated one Union official.
The Nutmeg News will have more on this when Major League Soccer indicates that Inter Miami will have the first right to sign the new international start.
Or you could give them a click. It's free.
I have a corgi who isn't big on passing or shooting but is good with the ball at her feet and dogged on defense if they're interested.
Reminds me of Polly the Pigeon the midfielder who wrecked the FC Juarez defense. LAFC had to give 25k in GAM to NYCFC for discovery rights.
I hate how bad MNUFC's academy is. Yesterday I saw two raccoons in the streets and I just wonder how much undiscovered talent has slipped through the cracks due to our ineptitude to develop local prospects.
As I understand it, Raquinho had graduated from a homegrown deal. However, DC United DID offer a senior roster contract, thus retaining Raquinho's Right of First Refusal. Philly engaging in some roster shenanigans here but I imagine it'll all be worked out with some GAM trading paws.
