everything lava lamp related

Once heated up my lamp flows great, then after awhile all the wax sinks to the bottom. This occurs if I switch out the base as well from another lamp. Any ideas?

Bought the One-Shot Mid-century kit with the intent of making a modern lamp '09 flow a little more like the 90s lamps. I've been lead to understand these kits help with that.

My question is this, do I need to completely replace ALL the fluid? Or is it something I can add incrementally until I get the desired flow?

I'm sure this question would be better suited for the discord, but I forgot my password and am impatient in that regard.
