I think number 2 would be a really cool storyline, having to fight against a friend who no longer considers you as one - would lend to some good story telling and im sure a phenomenal fight between him and akaza but then again vs the hashiras

Demon Rengoku: because there is a tiny chance he could be just like nezuko (not kill any slayers and work for the slayers)

I was considering the first one but who am I kidding, the second one is much more interesting, it can get pretty dark (Tanjiro having to fight him, or the rest of the Hashira, after opposing to Nezuko now they have to face the same situation with a demon they used to know and like as human) and I like suffering.

I choose the second choice for two reasons. First, him becoming a demon is far more intereseting, and it will force the writer into being more creative in creating strong scenes. Second, the first choice seems like a lame outcome just to make him live.

Either one could be cool, but I'd prefer the first option. I'd like to see Kyojuro become Tanjiro's primary mentor, helping him learn about Hinokami Kagura at least from the sidelines, even if he can no longer be an active fighter due to his injuries.

as a sidenote the Tanjiro vs Kyojuro duel from the Hinokami Chronicles game was sick as hell and I'd love to see a version of that in the anime

1. Becomes lesser demon to survive a near death encounter, has very slow regen and mild sun resistance from his breathing tech but is a weak demon. Keeps doing good deeds, but he is overcome with shame and doesn't show his face anymore. When the truth comes to light, his local community show their gratitude by either bringing sacrificial livestock or offering a bit of each of their blood to help him remain a strong protector. He keeps himself in check by only drinking what is necessary to mend his wounds and does a meditation ritual every time to not fall prey to the temptation.

Not gonna lie, Rengoku’s death made me cry…but give him more earlier impact and screen time, and have an Arc where Tanjiro is forced to kill him whilst realllly not wanting to

C’mon. We all wanted Kyojuro to win or at least survive. If he became a demon I would’ve been pissed.

Number 1. It gives the scenario where you’re rushing to see him. People from the corps had just told you he back and was injured after his battle. You’re worried sick and crying and you’re running through the building. When you slam the door open you’re treated with this smile.

To be honest it would be sick as fuck to see demon rengoku

2 would be so much fun tbh.. It would be such a blast like really unexpected.. but since Rengoku was so against turning into a demon the whole time ig 1 would be better. But still he could’ve been a good demon like Nezuko.. that would’ve powered up the slayers so much.. And it would be fun to watch him fight in a demon form and he would be literally unbeatable.. it’s so overwhelming just to think about it.

As much it would be a pretty intriguing what-if storyline if Rengoku accepted Akaza’a offer, I definitely would go for Rengoku surviving the events of Mugen Train 🥺🤧

Number 1, because the reason we all love Rengoku was because of his courage to not become a demon even when fighting Upper Moon 3.

I would say 2, because what if we got a double agent? Eventually he actually works his way and replaces the upper moons after they die and then he gets in close contact with akaza again. Due to him not having eaten anyone he could still be slightly less powerful than UM3, making a very interesting fight and character.

Honestly both could be interesting, but if Kyojuro became a demon, maybe Nezuko could throw her blood into the mix and he could be a demon like Lady Tamayo and Yushiro.

Maybe he could even deal with the fact that he’s no longer human and there could be a whole arc of him accepting himself, and then at the Infinity Castle Arc he could bust in just as Akazas about to kill Tanjiro and then say the line that’s portrayed in 3

Not the 2nd one, it would just go against Rengoku character and storyline. It doesn't matter it's cool if it's destroying the character's personality.

The whole Rengoku becoming a demon scenario. Like, what if Rengoku could use his demonic power to help destroy Muzan. He's already extremely powerful. That strength would only be amplified by his turning.

Three people have broken their connection to Muzan and retained their humanity. I feel like Rengoku could do it as well. Especially with such a strong sense of justice.

Rengoku would never sell his soul like that, though.

Knowing Rengoku lived a full righteous life, the only possible reason for Rengoku to accept would be that Akaza was x100 stronger than the main story line and he couldn't hold till dawn at all, so he had to buy time

Number one: For his little brother’s sake.

Just a thought. For narrative purposes, if Rengoku survived then he would have to be taken out of the main fight completely. Have him lose his sword arm or something.

Number 2 would be interesting, you could go at an angle where Rengoku doesn't consent to being turned but is forced to anyway (a bit like what happened to Daki and Nezuko)

his death, if he lived there would be little character development. even if there was a spin off and he did become a demon we would see Tanjiro having problems trying to kill him, and at that point Tanjiro's plot armor would brake and he would most likely die. But honestly he becomes a demon and there could still be great development in the entire story
