I was just listening to Straight, No Chaser, and Charlie Rouse was hung out to dry like nobody else I've heard before. I am too lazy to listen to it again, but you know the times when Monk tested his band. Charlie Rouse came through so hard, as did the rhythm section, whose names you don't even know.
