Gritty mix questions

I recently repotted a few of my jades in Veryplants Molly's Succulent Mix (this is an inorganic gritty mix). They were doing just fine in 100% Espoma Organic Cactus mix, but I wanted to try something new. Should I have mixed some traditional succulent mix into my gritty mix? Will they adapt without the organic material?

So far they seem fine. One has slightly squishy leaves on one branch, but I'm not too too worried yet.

Any tips on acclimating them to pure gritty mix? Bonus question: With very well-draining gritty mix, is pot size as much of a concern as it is with moisture-holding soils?

I did the exact same thing - repotted some jades into the veryplants succulent mix and it seems bone dry in a matter of days … having trouble deciding when time to water and considering adding some regular cactus soil back in. How are yours doing ?

Mine are doing pretty well! I also notice that I need to water more, but I appreciate not having to worry about overwatering. Baby roots seem really robust too! I've also been using Bonsai Jacks Succulent mix, and the two seem interchangeable to me. Going forward, I think will probably stick with the gritty mix and a touch of standard cactus mix -- seems like the best of both worlds. Doesn't seem like adding a bit of conventional soil could hurt? My jades survived for years in that stuff, so it must not be terrible!
