Looking for people in their 20s who need friends too or better yet some kind of club or group or community event around the Jackson area to meet new people or find a new hobby or passion. I'm into video games nerd culture movies old school music and more but I'm trying to broaden my horizons to any new experiences that involve meeting others

I'm wondering this communities stance on the Pet station on Michigan Ave next to the Burger King. I have seen some disturbing things from the store, mostly a clear over crowing of their small birds and rodents. They have so many in one cage that they all end up wet and stressed. I unknowingly bought one clipped bird and one unclipped bird from them and the difference in their personalities is saddening. While one is growing in confidence and ability the other hides and cries a lot of the day. They said they would molt out the clip in a month and it's been 2 and a half. It's quite heart breaking if your a bird lover. Also the staff has been almost overtly rude Everytime I go into the store. They have employees follow you around as if your a thief and the girls at checkout have little to no manners, almost as if they are trained to be rude? I know this business has been around for a long time now, at least 30 years, so they must have found some kind of space in the community. Does anyone have anything positive to say about this store? Or does anyone else have their own story of being more than disappointed with the care of the animals in this establishment?
I'm a 32 yr old female looking to make some more friends who share similar interests with me. I've tried bumble BFF but it's set up too much like a dating app and pressures you to pay in order to interact unless youre on constantly.
Anyways, I'm pretty neurospicy. I enjoy doing crafts (painting, gardening, building, crocheting, sculpting, perler beads) all sorts of stuff really. Gotta keep these hands busy! I like driving out into the boonies and finding cool new locations and just fucking off. I love food, smoke occasionally, drink occasionally, and enjoy binge watching shows. I'm freaking excited for garage sales, and can definitely keep myself busy, however it's always nice to share moments with good people.
I'm the type of person who is loyal and honest, but not a pushover. I don't do well with being ditched or taken advantage of, and frankly won't stand for it. Which is probably why I only have two very close friends. Lol
I like to write it as JacqsΓ³n. Looks classy. Like we have bricks of gold that make the streets. πππ gotta say it with a French accent, too.
I'm looking for something fun and not so "dinner and a movie-ish". I thought x-golf in Lansing looked pretty cool (active, has beer, vibe seems alright), so anything along those lines would be awesome! Where have you had a good time on a date around here?
Not trying to be cryptic long story short I spent 6 months in jail and I have nothing to do and I was just reaching out to see if maybe someone would be nice enough to want to sit and talk to me I'm 36 year old male not horrible looking. not looking for anything secret I start work soon and I just don't have anybody to hang out with. Go for a walk with me talk on the phone talked about cars anything...
My dad told me about it and it feels so uncanny that something like that happened. Did that actually happen and do we have more information about if so? Just wondering
27M. Moved to Jackson from the metro Detroit area a year ago. I still know zero people in the Jackson area.
One thing I've found interesting is that according to the Internet, the average age in Jackson is 35 years old. That's actually 2 years younger than the city I came from, which was absolutely loaded with college students or recent graduates under the age of 30.
Yet in Jackson, it seems like I can't find them anywhere aside from the bars on Friday/Saturday night.
I'd optimally like to meet people with other hobbies aside from going to the bars, however I'm not really in the loop here. What are people doing for fun/social activities?
I should also note that I am single. All my hobbies are heavily male-dominated, and I also work remote, which makes it a real mission to meet women these days. So something that isn't necessarily all dudes would be great lol
