Hello! Looking for some info on okaboji. Planning on visiting tomorrow… any idea if the water levels are safe enough for swimming? Thanks!
And farm run off
Do all the biohazards and chemicals cancel each other out like the diseases in mr burns
Unfortunately you do not have hysterical pregnancy. Oh no on the contrary all the poison is barely in balance. Lol Good reference
"...compleeeetely invincible...."
Lakes for looking at this year, not playing in. But seriously I have friends working on recovery there, fit guys in their 20s and 30s are getting sick, if you've got kids keep them out of the water
Levels of bacteria?
Wouldn't recommend it lol.
It's flood water...
I heard it’s a 1MPPG (1 million poops per gallon)
Call me poo poo platter cause i like that doo doo batter
We are all still recovering from massive flooding in the region...
Thanks for everyone who commented helpful and relevant information. I apologize for spelling OkOboji wrong. I will still plan on visiting (Arnold’s park, barefoot bar, other activities), but will certainly stay out of the water. I appreciate you guys!
Get yourself the ultimate Nutty Bar and visit the museum!!
OKboji is now called NotOKboji
You'll either get superpowers or cancer.
This guy clearly hasn't watched the Boys. Could get both
Stay away. It’s not the water level that’s dangerous, it’s the bacteria and sewage from the floods. I have heard stories of home owners having to get into the lake to pull out docks and boats and getting rashes because the water is so nasty.
I was just there this weekend. The water is high in the main lakes and some of the stuff right in the water is half flooded. Most things are still open though like Barefoot Bar and Arnold's park. Barefoot has a very limited food menu though but full drink menu. Boats are on the water but i believe it's a no wake ordinance so slow boating only.
Edit: i wouldn't swim in the main lakes. Center lake is ok ish since it didn't flood so it may not have been as contaminated.
don't
Okoboji
Just don your HAZMAT suit. This one’s easy guys.
This might be a good resource to consult: https://www.iowadnr.gov/Places-to-Go/State-Parks/Iowa-State-Parks/Iowa-Great-Lakes
Upvoted both. 😂
Oh damn. You actually got me.
YOUR plates, as in the license plates belong to them. Are you saying "you are plates"? As in they are not humans but are plates?
Probably shouldn’t visit places you cannot spell
There are no boats in the water
It's Okoboji NOT Okaboji.
Play some miniature golf
The current description of many Iowa waterways is "fecal soup". Enjoy your stay.
