Hello everyone,

I'm just curious about what daily life is like for an international school counsellor? I've done some googling but the information is a bit all over the place. I am considering the possibility of transitioning to school counselling in the future as the US has a variety of Masters programs that will certify you in school counselling that you can do by distance. There also seem to be quite a few jobs available internationally. Some things I'm wondering:

-do you find the workload better or worse than teaching? -do you receive the same vacation time as teachers? -is it less stressful, the same, or more stressful? -is the job primarily in guiding students academically and helping them apply to universities? I get the impression that the emotional or trauma counselling part is less of a thing in international schools?

I'm just trying to get more information. I see a lot about finding jobs on this thread, but less about what the job actually IS, because I know this can look different than in western countries. So, I'm curious. I hope this isn't bothersome :).
