Aegon is definetely wants to prove himself after his fight with Alicent
He will never be mamas little war criminal unfortunately…..
Just mamas little killedmysituationship 💔
“I was abed your grace 😏”
“ABEDDD???”
I was thinking Rhaenyra but I guess that works too lol
Oh he killed them both you’re right . Damn why can’t he let his mom fuck whoever in peace
Mama's little war criminal will also never be him. It's tragic 😔
I like how everyone knows Aeamond is her baby boy .
He is not anymore, she hates his guts lol
Yeah but he's not the one she's roasting at meetings lol .
She would never hate his guts for too long, the show wants so badly for her to be afraid of him without properly committing to it. She will be by his side once again after RR
RR? The Red Roasting
Aemond is Criston and Alicents fave boi, that’s what I loved in s1. Their little genocidal war loving boi😍
"Aemond is hiding in the forest with Vhagar"
It's simple, just throw some bushy tree branches on vhagar to blend in. It would be almost impossible for Rhaenys to spot her or the humongous crater she left in the forest where she landed.
I just picture Vhagar hiding her head under a pile of downed trees. Clearly invisible. Like a human using a napkin to hide.
Clifford the big, gray dragon
Thank you for the drunken giggle!
"After being instructed to hide the largest living dragon in the world, Aemond sarcasticly places a single leaf upon Vhagars nose"
My old roommate had a cat who would hide exactly like this. We think she struggled with object permanence, so she would stick her head behind a curtain like that was enough. She was not firing on all cylinders.
My brother also had a dog like this. She was a huge English Mastiff and was as sweet as a marshmallow. She was scared of storms and would stuff her head head and shoulders under the bed to hide. Walking into a room and seeing her giant body sprawled on the floor with her head under the bed was adorable. Definitely inspired my imagery for Vhagar, lol.
I don’t know why this is so funny
If the Germans disguised the nearly 900 foot battleship Tirpitz as a fake housing complex , Granny would just need a nice blanket and some leaves
Vhagar is dressed as a septa so Rhanys doesn't recognize her
This made me chuckle. 🤭
Rhaenys kind of forgot about the Iron Fleet
Right. That forest must have some huge ass trees to be able to hide the big mf.

He is straight up an anime villain in the book lmao.
Lmao…two Targaryen civil wars are happening. Rhaenyra vs Aegon, Aegon vs Aemond…
Tbh if this is the first 15 minutes and the remainder of the episode is Aegons flesh melting into his armor I’d call that a W
Valyrian steel Flesh abomination goes hard can't way to see his resolve after this .
Aegon needs to leave Aemond's ass alone. Fuck around and find out.
I've been wondering how they would play out Cole's trap. I don't recall them explaining exactly what he did in F&B.
Not entirely sure how Vhagar would be hiding in the forest considering her size
The trap more or less was a huge gambit on them assuming a dragon rider would show up and they could swamp them with Vhagar and Sunfyre. It's very plausible that they didn't intend Aegon to take the field in the show.
Wich is weird as you'd wanna hedge your bets on a dragon advantage. The dance would show even With advantages Dragon on Dragon combat is suicidal.
True but Daemon implies that Vhagar is strong enough that she would kill Caraxes and Melys pretty easily in the first episode of the season. And the Greens don’t have Dragons coming out the ass like the Blacks do they’d want to conserve what they have.
You ever been to a thick tall forest? Very possible
Yeah but how do you cover the dragon shaped hole in the trees required to get said dragon into the forest?
I guess. I remember the producers said Vhagar is supposed to be like 150 meters, which is almost 500 ft, so that must be a massive forest
She’s also a big green lump. With cloud cover, it would be very hard to see Vhagar if she’s not moving
. . . 500 feet end to end would qualify as a small forest
I'm not talking about the actual length of the forest, more so how dense and tall the trees are. It must be far enough away from the battlefield so Rhaenys couldn't see her hunkering down while flying over
Oh for sure, dragons can cover miles in minutes
Rooks rest is some what near a water body I would have hid Vhagar in the cost line far away enough in the cliff lines . Then fly her over along with sunfyre who's faster and can get they're quicker .
Rhaenys is coming from the sea dude…
It's not the foewar size thst makes ot hard to believe. It's that there's a gap in the trees 500 feet wide and it isn't noticed.
"she turned Meleys toward the foe. Against Vhagar alone she might have had some chance, but against Vhagar and Sunfyre together, doom was certain." They took a dumer direction apparently.
Daemon states in the first episode that he wouldn’t be able to take on Vhagar without Rhaenys help. The shows canon is that Vhagar is much stronger than either individually.
What ever happened to Vermithor though? Didn’t we see daemon sing to him and never heard of him again
Vermithor is still hanging out on Dragonstone waiting for a rider
Makes you wonder why Rhaena hasn't tried to claim Vermithor, especially after she was so angry at Aemond for claiming Vhagar before she got a chance to.
Especially because Vermithor has the reputation of being pretty chill and already used to humans and being bonded with a dragonrider.
Vermithor's huge, strong, and easy to get along with. Who wouldn't want Vermithor to be their dragon?
Silverwing is also around with a similar temperment to Vermithor, Rhaena has her pick of her great-grandparents' dragons.
He’ll show up later
Do they ever explain why she takes on a losing fight? It’s been a while since I’ve read the book but the loss of meleys seems quite devastating to the blacks currently
She went in thinking there was no other dragons and she could have easily won.
I thought she had the option to flee but fought vhaegar anyways?
She was simply a real one
Yes. From TWOIAF:
It is recounted that Princess Rhaenys, the Queen Who Never Was, did not shrink from her foe. With a glad cry and a crack of her whip, she sent Meleys flying up to face them.
And from F&B:
Princess Rhaenys made no attempt to flee. With a glad cry and a crack of her whip, she turned Meleys toward the foe. Against Vhagar alone she might have had some chance, but against Vhagar and Sunfyre together, doom was certain.
‘dumer direction’ oh the irony 😂
Death by falling, instead of being burned, is kinda lame lowkey feel bad for Rhaenys.
Thats not how rhaneys dies. She is killed by vhagar after turning back around to fight her. Another leak confirmed this.
Your dispute of his comment doesn't address what he's talking about. Yes you're right that it says she turns back and fights and dies. The leak gets more into detail though and specifies she turns around and fights vhagar who kills her dragon by bitongs its neck and she falls and dies.
It's also way lamer as in the books It looks like she Holds her ground knowing she's doomed after she's fallen into they're trap and manges to take Aegon down with Sunfyre . Here it looks more like some Looney toons plan went wrong and everyone is dumb .
Right? Like dying for nothing basically, though apparently she does manages to fuck Sunfyre (the leaker didn't know the story and thought both, or at least Sunfyre, had died).
Was this forest that the humongous Vhagar hid in full of baobab and sequoia trees? Because if not, what the fuck.
Rooks rest is near a water body . If they show thought about it they could hide her north and She could Arise from the cliff lines .
Vhagar is actually hiding under the water while breathing through a large dragon-sized straw
This is clearly weird rage bait. The trailer has Criston giving a speech about Aegon and Sunfyre being on the battlefield. So he must have known Aegon would be there unless he’s giving that speech to burning men in the middle of a battle.
unfortunately it’s not, this is from the same guy who gave spoilers for episode 3 that were accurate
That could be Criston seeing him in the sky and then saying all that to motivate their soldiers.
Not necessarily. It could also be him just making a speech on the spot despite not expecting aegon himself to show up. It would show that hes quick thinking
I love how all of the leaks of certain events this season are slightly different from each other, it's fun wondering which is the real version.
How the fuck is Vhagar gonna hide?
Behind a very small bush
Shhh Vhagar thinks she’s doing a good job hiding behind that leaf. Just humor her, she’s old.
Can the greens have ONE positive interaction ? We get they are dysfunctional, but it's a tad too much.
And Aemond is a very big idiot for doing this. Does he think he can beat all of team black by himself ? Delulu much.
Aemond and alicent will have one in an upcoming episode. I think they have a fight first though
“Would you not have us prevail?”
“NOT like THIS”
Then he is seen laying down and she holds his face and says “the crown will pursue victory at any cost”
If it is after RR, Aemond has some nerve to say us when he planned to kill his brother
Don’t think alicent is ever gonna find out Aemond did this to Aegon and even if she did, that’s her boi, her fave boi. If it was the other way around though….yeah she killing Aegon herself even for just not keeping an eye on him
Also yeah he really does have the nerve…this family is a mess
The writers are making them act illogically. First Alicent, now Aemond
The other leaks I’ve heard for alicent are much worse. It’s like they have forgotten who Alicent was for the entirety of season 1….and it’s also making the actors look stupid for their interpretations of their characters
No they’re not ? Aemond resents his brother because of his brothers bullying, he doesn’t respect him as a king a was clearly fuming the last time they spoke. Aemond is hotheaded, impulsive, holds a grudge and has had a massive chip on his shoulder his whole life.
And Aegon rushing in during what was explicitly supposed to be his thing would also enrage him beyond belief.
Taking out your brother and his dragon while embroiled in a war against a foe with more dragons than you is pretty illogical. The only act of self-sabotage worse than this would be if Aemond were to kill his own mount Vhagar.
The show has made it abundantly clear that the only dragons that pose a threat to Vhagar are Caraxes and Meleys. At this moment in time the wild dragons on Dragonstone are not at play yet, the only other dragons the Blacks have are small and ridden by inexperienced riders.
You're allowing this nonsense simply because you want to, these people aren't supposed to be dipshits who think with their emotions.
They're supposed to be people whose actions have emotional underpinnings but still make sense, him explicitly trying to kill Aegon destroys any complexity between the two and makes very little sense considering Aemond has been shown to understand how important the dragons are.
Right ! Like at this point I’ll be ok with a neutral one as well , there was another part in another post that aemond didn’t even try to go after rhaenys afterwards. Like she came back to fight him in like a suicide mission. Unless aemond feels regret after the incident if he sees Alicent screaming her head off , which I doubt
Also, Aemond feels remorse about Luke and probably not for his brother ?
Damn he is stoopid
Nah don’t you get it ? The whole book was a lie and green propaganda ! Hess and Condal are fucking horrible at their job lmfao, couldn’t even follow source material for more than half a season in S1 and immediately started changing everything.
I mean no ? Aegon and Aemond don’t have a good relations and Rooks Rest even in the books isn’t a testament to the strength of their bond. Aemond literally smashes right into Meleys and Sunfyre and sends all three crashing to the ground which kills Rhaneys and cripples Aegon. Either Aemond was being an idiot or he was trying to kill them both.
Aemond resents aegon and wants to be king. I see no leap in logic to assume he would use battle as a cover to actually take out aegon kinslaying is not a big deal to him after all
I prefer the book suggestion that he generally supports his family, had mixed feelings towards Aegon and didn't care if Aegon died in that fight but wasn't explicitly trying to kill him.
Right now, the Greens just look really really dumb and unorganized because their teeth have been dulled and their intentions have been obscured by bad writing. In the book they felt like a real organizational threat despite their in-fighting because the ultimate goal seemed consistent.
The TV show has made both sides weaker and completely ruined their motivations by making them seem reactionary and emotional. Making Alicent double-back when she hears the Aegon explanation means that her character is fundamentally different from her book self, so making her do the same things is dumb. Book Alicent understood the game when she was playing it, which makes it more tragic for her when it goes horrifically wrong.
So how do you think they’re going to change gods eye then?
Aemond and Daemon decide to team up. As they're on their way to Kings Landing Aemond asks to borrow Dark Sister, so Daemon tosses it to him. It accidentally goes through his eye and the dragons crash into each other and fall into the God's Eye.
Bless you 🙏this made me laugh.
And seeing he accidentally killed Aemond. Daemon jumps inside Vhagar's mouth to kill himself.
Or Vhagar and Caraxes start banging each other mid flight and the bump will cause both of them to die.
Oh God don't give them any ideas
😂😂😂
Caraxes will accidently latched into vhagar and was aiming for the towers . Deamon was actually aiming for The chains on Aemonds saddle or something.
Rhaenys better be charred this week after that fight. It's a super sad moment in the book but I have a feeling people will applaud because not only is it revenge for all the people she killed in the dragon pit, But it would also show that the writers actually have balls to do something horrific to a main, side character.
People care about King's landing commoners now?
Their fault for accepting a usurper for a king.
only weirdos care about a fictional show common folk lol this world getting to soft

"she turned Meleys toward the foe. Against Vhagar alone she might have had some chance, but against Vhagar and Sunfyre together, doom was certain." Fire and blood . I'm just done with this nonsense it's one thing that they set a trap And Aeamond Betrays his brother last minute but now it's Aegon Suddenly rushing in For no reason because mommy Decided Viserys the man who used her and Put her in this mess was a better person.
I’m sorry this really doesn’t make much sense to me.
Nevermind the fact that killing Aegon is straight up dumb and he can literally do it in ways that are way less obvious why in the world would he give Rhaenys the oppurtunity to flee?
The idea that Aemond is ready to kill Aegon after that one brothel scene is dumb as hell considering we see him clearly hate Luke more than Aegon in Episode 8 of season 1 and his entire arc so far in season 2 has been he regrets ACCIDENTLY killing Luke but now he is cool with cold blooded murder? I’m sorry there is nothing consistent about it.
Apparently Aemond tries to kill Aegon so obvioulsy over Rhaenys that it’s just plain dumb that nobody would see? Like what is the fall out of this? And more importantly I don’t see how this plays into the story at all going forward. Like the flames are from Vhagar Lary will literally talk about the burns so why is everybody ignoring this? Why is Aegon not having something done against Aemond? And if he can’t why doesn’t Aemond finish the job?
Why do they make Rhaenys look like an idiot in the process? Isn’t her death supposed to be somewhat meaningful? It doesn’t even feel like a sacrifice because for what? Vhagar apparently already doing the work for her why not escape and give your side something? Her going on a suicide mission to get rid of either Aegon and Aemond makes ten times more sense than just deciding she will die
Feels likenthey added it for shock value and maybe make the Greens look as dumb as possible
The writers don't understand nuance, they simply believe it's when illogical things happen.
I would more readily believe Aemond didn't care that much if Aegon was killed instead of intentionally trying to kill him in the middle of a war.
Especially like why in front of everyone to the point he almost let’s Rhaenys get away? Where is the logic?
Bro what shit are the writers on Lmao
Aeamond burning aegon was on thing . Aegon rushing in Looney toons style them getting attacked is so dumb .
I still don't get what Condal meant when he said that people will have a hard time choosing sides, there is clearly a bias lol
The directors have described the first four episodes of the season as a first act. So we’ll most likely see, we haven’t actually spent much time with the Blacks comparatively but there’s a lot of tension there that’s only been alluded too so far. During this stage of the book, the Greems are just much more active than the Blacks. Rhaneyras basically awol for an extended period of time, and it’s not until after Rooks Rest that the Blacks get more aggressive.
They could’ve had Allicent actually care about her kids and comfort them after B&C, had scenes with the great bond between Aegon and Sunfyre, and finally somewhat of a good political bond between the brothers. Not sure how the book is, but I could’ve cared more about the greens if they were disfuncional but at least caring. Instead we get Aegon and Frat bros, Ali-Cole, nobody giving a shit about Helaena, and none of the green dragons having any bonds.
Everything in the book is more nuanced but less dramatic if that makes sense.
In the book the dragons are more present and are shown to have a rather deep connection with their riders.
Alicent is also still objectively a bad mother for essentially raising her kids to hate Rhaenyra but she seems to actually love them still, think a truly evil mom who thinks it's justified and thus doesn't seem the real harm present in her children.
Haelena and Aemond also had a deeper relationship to the extent that it was unknown if Aegon actually had any children with her, which made his actions towards Daemon carry some more weight. Haelena's reaction after her children died was more radical, and played a strategic tilt because it meant that she was completely unable to ride her dragon.
I think the book strengthened the Greens by making it completely clear that 1. the Green Targaryens and the Hightowers functioned as a block 2. they were under no false pretenses concerning Viserys decision on the succession 3. Rhaenyra was pretty flagrant and entitled
there's a much more detailed leaks than this
where can i find it
Basically the same thing that happened to Luke, wow.
god im praying this isn’t real, though with the way the season has been going i can’t help but feel like it is. battle of rook’s rest was supposed to be Rhaenys’s final badass moment to go out in a blaze of glory, here she just falls to her death… she doesn’t even inflict the burns and damage to aegon and sunfyre it’s aemond 💀 what a terrible terrible decision if true
didn't the leaks say rhaenys was fighting vhagar well before aemond hid in the clouds there so that's pretty badass? and in the book, vhagar caused heavier damage to sunfyre too so this is pretty accurate.
rhaenys should’ve died a dragon rider’s death by being burned like in the book. and while vhagar causes a lot of damage to sunfyre, it’s explicitly stated that meleys does a lot of damage to sunfyre and aegon. here it’s just vhagar
the leaks said meleys and sunfyre were entangled together before rhaenys saw vhagar and dodge so it's still possible she inflicted damage to sunfyre too
I can't wait for Vhagar to attack Cole because he's Dornish.
The only thing I hate about leaks, is people shitting on the show and writers etc for something they haven’t even seen.
Aegon basically becomes Doctor Doom. Dang Aemond with the friendly fire 🔥
Can we never get 1 (one) faithful adaptation THAT DOES NOT SUBVERT OUR EXPECTATIONS.
I wouldn't be surprised when Aegon keeps shitting on Aemond.
This is SHIT. It's just shit. If this is how it happens, Aemond is a fucking idiot and Rhaenys is also a fucking idiot. Because of the fact that Aemond resents Aegon, he will let the only adult dragon rider apart from him on his team die??? Rhaenys has an opportunity to flee the whole thing even after Aegon is injured and presumably dead and she still comes back? Why??
And after this bullshit Aemond is going to take Vhagar from the city and leave the city, his mother, sister and niece undefended. This all comes across as so fucking stupid. I was hyped for S2 for 2 years but after the last 3 episodes and how they have changed so much I don't even care anymore.
I don't get what these leaks are supposed to mean. Why would Aemond critically injure his brother, only to let him live afterwards? Aegon will know that his brother tried to kill him and Aemond cannot cover it up as an accidental incident. Like "oh such a shame, my brother died in battle, now I have to become the king." Please just tell me, that is not what the producers will tell us with this story.
What the hell is this? Fanfic writers have written better crap than this.
They did AEGON bullying Aemond to set up Rook Rest. Also if you think carefully Larry's is responsible for basically anything bad that happens in the show.
So Aemond decides to kill his brother, the king, for some petty bullying. But, then feels remorse for killing Luke after he took out his eye.
Like I get the Greens are evil bad guys, but can’t we get some positive scenes of them working as a team.
My only problem with this is that it makes Aemond the biggest idiot in the show. He doesn't have to like Aegon but what's the point of eliminating a dragon and his rider when your opponent has more than twice the numbers. The math isn't mathing in his mind.
Finally some action
Now y'all can stop comparing Aegon/ Aemond to Viserys/Daemon they have similarities because the second son is obviously stronger but Daemon would never hurt Viserys wheras Aemond couldn't care less and obviously wants the throne.
Aemond is pretty much worse than Aegon at everything aside from swordsmanship, so I wouldn’t even say he’s more worthy.
Oh for fucks sake
Seems a bit silly for Aemond to suddenly want to kill his brother after insults. Its not how humans act.
He doesn't think things through, he acts on impulses.
Whatever happened to characters who hated each other's guts but were still smart enough to understand that they needed to work together temporarily in order to win the war they're involved in
That was never Aemond though, definitely not in the books. The council tells him to wait til Aegon and Sunfyre get better he says no and does his thing, Cole tells him to join forces with Daeron and the Hightower army he says no again.
Aemond was never the smartest cookie in the jar, that's true, but at least there was most likely some reasoning behind his decisions that he thought would help them win the war, and he was wrong about that. By burning the riverlands instead of linking forces, he manage to lure out Caraxes and Sheepstealer which helped the Greens at Tumbleton. Linking up and fighting all the Blacks in one place would probably have been a death sentence.
This however is him just going "I don't like that guy >:(, let me burn him" when that obviously is just going to lead to them losing the war for absolutely no reason
Aemonds actions basically cost the Greens the war in the books as well and there’s no real logic too it.
You just responded to a comment where I lay out possible logic behind it. Now, I admit his logic is bad. But at least there may be one in theory
Well we know they have one or two more fights in the episode so there's more than just that. There's also a lifetime of resentment on top, they showed it in s1. And it's not like he is attacking Aegon alone, he goes in when they're both entangled but Meleys (who is faster and probably in better shape than Sunfyre) manages to get away. Not that different from the books, since we don't know who really burns who and it's left ambiguous on purpose. Now the Rhaenys part I do find more ehh but I'll wait til I see it to really judge.
Yeah. I think the thing for me is just that it's so many strange, off-the-dome decisions done at once.
Aegon is like "No I won't stay home, I'm a strong boy >:( I wanna fight"
Aemond is like "No I don't like this guy I wanna burn him >:("
Rhaenys is like "No I don't wanna get away with having taken out one of their dragons I wanna sacrifice myself >:("
Like, you can convince me that there's one doofus in that whole group who is stupid enough to risk the entire war on his personal ambitions, but that all of them do it?
I just want people to come up with a strategy and execute it, and if it fails retreat to try a different one, is that too much to ask in a show about politics?
I just want people to come up with a strategy and execute it, and if it fails retreat to try a different one, is that too much to ask in a show about politics
No because things have to serve a greater purpose to the characters and the narrative. The shows position on war is that it’s senseless violence that spirals out of control due to people’s egos. Rooks Rest is in keeping with that theme. Getting upset because an anti war show demonstrates war as folly is strange. You want the characters to lose their motivation and become robots for a sequence.
Okay, let me try to make my point more clear.
I agree, things have to server a greater purpose to the narrative, and have to support the themes. And I agree that one of the themes of the show is that war is senseless violence spiraling out of control due to people's egos.
But if you want people with egos to do senseless war.. you actually have to make them try to fight and win a war. And that includes coming up with strategies and executing them to win important battles. Having an ego and thinking ahead more than 5 seconds into the future are not mutually exclusive qualities. I don't see how making them fight a proper battle where two sides work together to win would somehow make them robots.
In GoT, you had incredible moments that showed the horrors of war exactly BECAUSE you had characters with egos suddenly band together with someone they hated in order to defeat the common enemy. When you see Cersei be almost sweet to Sansa and solemnly explain to her that if they lose, they're about to get raped and murdered - THAT shows how senseless and stupid war really is. And it shows that it's a force greater than anyone. Cersei or Sansa, they're all the same in the face of something as terrible as that. And yet Cersei still works towards war, because of her ego, because she thinks she'll win and get what she wants.
Meanwhile in HotD, it almost feels like none of them even realize they're at war, and that there's dire consequences coming if they make mistakes and don't work together. Aegon destroys their plan, Aemond burns the only other big asset they have, Rhaenys goes into kamikaze mode for.. some reason. It's like she doesn't care that her death is meaningless there.
And if she doesn't care, how are we meant to care? If the characters aren't painfully aware of the consequences that are going to happen if they do a misstep, how are we? If the characters don't take anything seriously, and never put their petty squabbles aside for even one second, how are we meant to take war seriously?
The writers have shown an explicit discomfort with logical war, conflict and/or truly nuanced character motivation.
That is not a fair reading of this at all.
If that is actually what had happened, Aemond had had a great relationship with Aegon his entire life, then Aegon had embarassed him once and then he wanted to kill him, then that would be utterly absurd.
But it's clearly implied that Aegon has been bullying Aemond for pretty much his entire life. We saw him doing it as a kid, and we've now seen him doing it as an adult. It's pretty clear that this is something that has been boiling inside of Aemond for a very long time. It turned Aemond into someone with a deep seated hatred and insecurity that he compensates for by a tough exterior.
And this madam was maybe the one person in the world where he felt he could let his guard down and show some vulnerability. And here too his brother once again tried his best to embarass and bully him.
In other words, it's not "Oh, Aegon insulted Aemond once and now he wants to kill him." It's "Aegon has been bullying Aemond for his entire life on and off, making him feel deeply insecure and creating an enormous amount of resentment towards his brother that will explode due to this being the final drop to let the pot run over because it brings all the trauma from years of bullying back to the surface."
I've seen plenty of people who've been bullied in their lives who've wanted to seek vengeance against or even to murder their bullies.
Brothers pick on each other all the time it usually doesn't lead them to committing fatricide lol. He's willing to burn Aegon alive but not Luke who permanently disfigured him. But more importantly, he's trying to kill one of the few dragon riders the greens actually have.
Aegon has bullied Aemond his entire life, and also they’re arguing right before Rooks Test as well.
He's willing to burn Aegon alive but not Luke who permanently disfigured him.
Aegon has tormented Aemond his whole life, shit Aegons the reason Aemond went to claim Vhagar on the first place. He lost his eye in a fight with Luke and he hates him for it yes but at the same time it’s a relatively straightforward hatred. Aegon has these weird periods of truce in their relationship before starting shit up again.
Ok? Again it's not out of the ordinary for siblings to bully each other, as far as westeros it's actually tame. But we're supposed to believe Aemond would bring sorrow to his family and weaken their position in the war just because Aegon was mean to him growing up? when earlier he tried not to kill Luke who was actively being a traitor and literally cut his eye out?
Ok? Again it's not out of the ordinary for siblings to bully each other, as far as westeros it's actually tame
Clearly it’s not to Aemond if it’s on his mind constantly.
But we're supposed to believe Aemond would bring sorrow to his family and weaken their position in the war just because Aegon was mean to him growing up?
Aemond is insanely hotheaded and impulsive and doesn’t think Aegons worthy of being king. This has been established before. Aemond was fuming after Aegon mocked him at the brothel and they get into another argument in episode 4.
when earlier he tried not to kill Luke who was actively being a traitor and literally cut his eye out?
Because he didn’t hate Luke all that much, Luke cut out his eye yes but that was in a fight and like he told Alicent he got a dragon out of the deal. Aemond disliked Luke sure but he didn’t have to see Luke for 6 years or put up with his bullshit, Aegons an asshole to everyone in the family and Awmond usually gets the worst of it because Aemonds achievements make Aegon feel insecure.
Clearly it’s not to Aemond if it’s on his mind constantly.
And I think it's poor characterization. If you're going to make a character make a decision as drastic as fatricide in the context of a medieval civil war, the reasoning should be a lot more justifiable than "he bullied me". If Aegon threatened to kill him or his brothel friend for causing the events that led to his son's death, I could buy it more.
Aemond is insanely hotheaded and impulsive and doesn’t think Aegons worthy of being king. This has been established before
Regardless of how he feels about him as king, he has to understand that Sunfyre's a massive asset to the green cause. And it looks like this is a decision that is going to be calculated, not impulsive.
he didn’t hate Luke all that much,
And im saying it doesn't make sense, he'll hate his brother to the point of kinslaying him, neglecting all sorts of strategic and moral implications, but he won't hate the guy who cut his eye out. He and Luke had a bad relationship and didn't have a familial bond.
From the previous episodes you can tell he doesn't think he needs Aegon or Sunfyre.
It's still quite strange though? He was raised to hate Luke and Luke also mutilates Aemond for life. Even then, they depict Aemond killing Luke as an accident and something that he has felt guilt over. But then he goes and burns his brother alive? It would have made more sense if they made Jahaerys the tipping point between the brothers. Centering something as tragic as the death of a child would have been a better set-up with mutual resentment.
I don't think the Greens have a very healthy dynamic.
Basically regal fratricide over a milf
It's definitely how some humans act. This happens quite frequently actually. We literally had a store owner shot in the head and killed in my town for "disrespecting" some guys wife by not letting her in the store without a mask during covid. It's not how most people act but there are a lot of people that kill other people over small dlighte like insults and what not.
Yeah but its like every character in this world
It’s just Hess and Condal putting their litttle twist on everything because they fucking have to lmfao, embarrassing writing.
Are you saying that you read Rook's Rest in F&B and didn't wonder just a little bit how and why Aemond acted the way he did at Rook's Rest? I know I had the thought that Aemond fucked up so badly that it seemed like he was trying to kill Aegon
Yeah. In the book, Aemond either didn't care if Aegon died (He let Aegon take point in the fighting despite having the tougher Dragon, then piledrived both Sunfyre and Meleys), or he was utterly smoothbrained and didn't realize he very likely could've killed Aegon then and there.
Some people are a bit in denial about who Aemond is both in the book and in the show.
The wondering has meaning in itself while the events in the post preclude any nuance about what Aemond was doing.
I prefer wondering if Aemond didn't care, was too rash or actually wanted to kill his brother because it shows that there were a few objectives weighing on his mind.
Having him immediately pivot from Meleys to killing Aegon is bad.
Ur just blind. WHERE have they shown Aegon qnd aemond having a good relationship ?? Aemond is clearly a ticking time bomb that holds grudges. Aegon's clearly been bullying him not in a brotherly way. Aemond has openly told Criston he wants to be king. Sure sure bad writing.
It is bad writing, as someone who isn't in a dynastic war, it's blatantly obvious that killing 1. a dragon rider 2. your king who was just crowned 3. and doing it so flagrantly is dumb as hell.
Aemond is the same dumbass who abandons Cole's army to torch the Riverlands, leading the army's destruction and his own death. He's an impulsive hothead, this isn't a weird characterization. He's an illogical person. This show may not have the best writing, but this isn't one of those times.
Yet in the book no one knows if Aemond meant for it to happen but the outcome is the same.
This would be such a stupid deviation.
Am I the only one who kind of like it? I always saw this 2vs1 trap as a cowardly move. Smart of course but cowardly. I prefer Aegon to be a brave impulsive fool. And it makes sense so far in terms of the writing of his character. Aemond's betrayal is the only thing I can't accept so far. Unless they show the continuation of the brothers' conflict before the battle.
How will meleys and her ride die or they will be alive??
In the show Vhagar kills them both in a 1v1, ripping off Meleys head sending Rhaenys plummeting to her death
So what’s 2?
Wait. Does "both fall to the ground" refer to Rhaenys and Aegon or Aegon and Sunfyre? For the latter, it could mean, that Rhaenys might survive.
love this, not a smart move to bully your brother his entire life and still think he would be loyal like a dog
Those who laugh at Aemond’s little torch shall be torched by dragon 🔥
Let them all kill each other. I likes it!
theyre not gonna do that to aegon, ig?
Yeah they will .
People really can’t just wait for Sunday man, I swear to god
Condal and Hess are pathetic ass writers that need to go work on a CW show or something, they really just can’t fucking help themselves lmfao.
I honestly think some of these leaks are fake or bias cuz the post is posted with I hate the show and it says that meleys and rhaenys look towards the sea, and im pretty sure rooks rest isn’t near the sea
