Been hearing rumors of a cost of living raise in June. Highly doubtful but I had to ask. Has anyone else heard anything?

Havenāt heard anything. Real predictor would be who told you the rumor. No names obviously or exact title but their type of position can validate its possibility.

I second this but also how long has the person been there. Thereās a bagger I know who people forget heās around and he hears and retains a lot. I would believe him over dm who has repeatedly said that we are about to do a full store remodel with new registers for the past 4 years
Though this is generally an accurate way of approaching it youād be surprised. Iāve worked jobs where the cleaner knew something big well before anyone else because people talk when they are around and just donāt pay attention.
Trader Joeās just raised all of their employees pay by $2 an hour (I know different company) but it was for the same reason.

August is when the performance is typically scheduled. Now if they add an extra increase on it I wouldnāt complain.

Wasnāt one of the past raises a couple years ago or so had an added increase on top. I remember it being a little more than usual then they gave all the CSAs and curbies a $200 on their VPP card since they donāt get raises.
i heard that heb's around the state will be building apartments complexes on top of the heb and accommodate partners so they wouldn't have to leave the store, thus partner performance will be at an all time high
Thereās actually one of the Houston stores thatās like that.
But the location is prohibitively expensive to the average employee. More closely compared to if one worked and attempted to afford to live at the Domain. I get the jest, and I donāt even work for HEB, but Iām a musician who used to play at the club that once stood in its place, and was sad to see what happened over there.
Considering how many retail grocery employees are subsidized by the government in the form of entitlements (because their jobs don't pay enough to keep them alive), HEB needs to pony up with low rent housing, groceries at cost and a minimum 25% cost of living adjustment to keep up with inflation. They have the money.

Cost of living raise, that is doubtful. Right now, HEB is trying to find ways to save cost so they can save money. Don't be surprised if you see some changes in your stores soon. With them doing what they can to save cost, I'm not sure a cost of living raise is on the horizon.
Yep, like our mgr told us to clock out BEFORE grabbing your coat, keys, etc. How much can that save??? Lol
They justify it with a little bit of silly math lol
"It takes you roughly 2 minutes to get your personal belongings. I have 10 partners in my department at any given time of the day. 10 x 2 is now 20 minutes total. 7 days in a week and now we're looking at 140 minutes or 2.333 hours. That's 2 hours of labor that could be used elsewhere to blah blah blah bl....."

Yeah I loved working at a union job for $8 an hour while the union takes one of those dollars to fight for a 20 cent raise for me once every 2 years
