Should I leave the chrome exposed on the smoked taillights? Thoughts?

I love de-chroming vehicles and blacking things out but I always stop short of the brake lights (and all lights) because of safety reasons and because it’s the kind of illegal mod that will get you stopped often. Not worth it.

No, black everything out. Even put black lights in your black light housings covered with a black lens. I don't want to see you when I rear-end you.

I don’t know why chrome gets so much hate. It’s definitely a matter of preference but just surprised at how many people thinks it looks cheap. My ‘17 GC altitude is blacked out with the exception of the grill and exhaust being chrome.

I personally HATE chrome. I think its a cheap attempt to make something look luxurious. If the black out kit wasnt so damn expensive Id have it on mine already

Just an FYI, if you are ever rear ended in an accident, expect to be successfully sued in civil court by an ambulance chasing attorney --- not to mention likely have criminal issues from at-fault accident due to defective equipment(blocked tail lights). Those blacked out tail lights are up there in the Darwin award winning tier.
