These are all from kikko mother plants with a special flower type that I’d like to get blooming asap so I’ll be grafting something soon.
If you are referring to me, my thought process is random but with purpose. Right top: yellow splotches. Right Middle: has many odd qualities, not sure if it's normal or not. Right Bottom: twin headed. Left Middle: has A LOT of dots. Left Bottom: has bare minimum anything.
So you are picking the weird guys? Aren't you supposed to pick healthy ones?
I don't recall that being part of the question. I get the idea of using the healthiest looking ones, but why not make a unique masterpiece when you have the opportunity?
I see. Thanks bro.
A cultivar might also do really well within a greenhouse where it’s pampered but not so well in the wild. Kind of like how various dog breeds or domestic animals might not be able to survive or compete in the wild. Doesn’t mean they don’t serve a purpose within their niche, which in the case of the above selected plants for grafting, may indeed be their peculiarity and uniqueness.
Makes sense. Especially when you have those with no chlorophyll but look so white and pretty.
