Contrary to popular belief, new-born humans are far from helpless. As demonstrated above, the combination of a slick layer of fluids and explosive speed has led to this one escaping from three of the four fully prepared adults.
In the wild, the newborn would disappear into the jungle to feed voraciously as a type of ambush predator. Using itself as bait, it would lay, seemingly helpless, near food or water sources before savaging any predator that mistook it for an easy meal.
As you can see, while Intelligence has made human lives easier (and is seemingly being bred out of the species as a non-critical survival factor in recent decades), it was by being ruthless hunter/killers that they climbed to the top of their food chain.
