Tomorrow will be worse
Non-Americans are harassing and bullying. You are guessing, insulting and generalizing.
Shut up lol
This is an American movie and an American Platform.
I know that this is an American Movie.
I know that this is an American Platform, but that is irrelevant, because this sub is not supposed to be seen as American.
Joking with the American date format is harassment and bullying. Specially with the identified event. I sympathized with the Americans for such a bad taste.
The word 'Europoors' was targeting those jokers. Was it not a guess, an insult, and a generalization?
yet we’re still living rent free in your head
I replied to one person. I condemned that person and non-Americans who harass Americans. Who is we?
americunts when they say the month of the day instead of the day of the month
I looked at your account. Sit this one out buddy
You serious? I was just joking back. Did you seriously make a joke about others and then get offended when I did the same?
Except you used an extremely misogynistic insult in it that isn’t acceptable to use. Just sit this one out.
You're trolling. How is that misogynistic?
The c word is an inherently misogynistic insult. You’d have to be an idiot not to see how.
The C word to us Americans does not carry the same weight abroad. It doesn’t even really have the same definition. Take it easy, their comment wasn’t misogynistic lol
Imagine being mad over a date format used in the U.S… on a device also invented in the U.S.
👀
In a movie that takes place in America, made by Americans too 🙄
Hate to disappoint you, but the Motorola V60 is a GSM phone. GSM is a European invention.
cell phones as a technology and the company Motorola are both American.
Cellular as a principle yes. The technology after 1.5G is European.
Splitting hairs are we?
Cellular as a principal and the physical cellular telephone.
Bottom line is that the V60 would never have existed if it weren't for European inventions.
Euro trash in mass
Ameeican movie uses American time... who would have thought
For the Americans:
Them snarky Europeans out in full force tonight. Lol
For them Europeans:
Man staters are so fucking dumb they don't even know how to tell the date. Lol
‘I’m playing both sides, so that I always come up on top’
I play both sides so I always lose 😎
I mean, it's just a dumb discussion about dates. If it came to something much more serious, I'm usa/allies all the way as a citizen.
I can’t think of anything happening on 10th October 2001.
The movie takes place in America... it's going to use the American date format
I can begin to imagine why an AMERICAN movie, set in AMERICA, with (mostly) AMERICAN actors, on an AMERICANS phone would use mm/dd/yyyy.
europoors cannot comprehend localization (they’re hellbent on colonizing it)
Well see, Eurotrash haven’t had anything happen in decades, so it’s usual for you to see the day as unremarkable when your country is unremarkable.
that's september 10th, 2001
9/10/01
where are you guys from where that isnt the standard for the date? in the USA it's mm/dd/yr
Its almost everywhere except usa
Except that’s only true of Europe. Japan for example uses mm/dd not dd/mm.
Everywhere else is wrong...and weird. Probably why they haven't done anything useful in a while.
You cant say what format is wrong or correct, you just got used to this one
Cause it's the correct one. Can say it all I want cause I know it's right.
I love the USA because whenever I'm arguing with someone and claim that we're the best at something I've got like a 95% chance of being right even if I didn't look it up.
It’s obviously wrong. You either go in order from longer to shorter (Year, Month, Day) or from shorter to longer (Day, Month, Year). Going Month, Day, Year is out of order and therefore clearly wrong.
It's the way we say dates though. It's September 11th, 2001. That's the way we say it. Convert them into numbers and you've got our format.
What date is Independence Day on? How would you typically say that date?
Do you base rules on the one or the three hundred and sixty-four?
1/365 days that we do that.
July 4th - the date
4th of July - the name of the holiday, specifically spoken this way to denote it as special, because we usually don’t say things this way. It’s perfectly correct but it’s far rarer in common parlance and that’s why it makes perfect sense to do month/day/year, just as much as day/month/year
At this point, you seem too dumb to be serious.
It doesn't sort well
Typical american
Me neither. Must be some 3rd world bullshit
it's the standard date format in the USA
As an American
As an alien bloop gleeo glorp zorp
What's the difference between a rubber band and an owl?
I don't know, but when you cross and owl with a bungee cord you get my ass
No? It's not metric.
Saw takes place in the US not Europe. Can't be 3rd world.
I had 7 strokes trying to figure out the order of year month day on that date
Really? Its either month-date or date-month. Are you that fucking slow?
How dumb are you that you couldn’t figure out one of 2 ways to read it?
There are two options for what day it could be.
Why? It’s in the standard form.
9th October 2001 then. So the bad news the day after is the deaths of Eddie Futch and Vasily Michin?
Standard is September 10
No it isn’t.
Whatever you say man
I mean it just isn’t. This is the standard: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601
“Date and time values are ordered from the largest to smallest unit of time: year, month (or week), day, hour, minute, second, and fraction of second.”
So the first value would be the year no?
You're right. So then it should be read as 2009 - October - 01. Or possibly Year 1009 - October - 01, but I doubt it because of a lack of cellphones at that time.
This comment section is a fucking train wreck, lmfao
Oh man. I thought Europeans were supposed to be better than Americans. Guess I was wrong. They can’t even read dates.
We are. Long to short or short to long. No jumping around. Day, Month, Year or Year, Month, Day. Those are the two options.
Just because something is in ascending or descending order doesn’t make it more logical. Unless you put it in a triangular diagram but that is a completely arbitrary illustration.
Month - Day - Year is the most logical for human use, just as Fahrenheit is the most practical system for human use as well.
Absolutely not. Month - Day - Year has absolutely no advantages over Day - Month - Year or Year - Month - Day. Neither does Fahrenheit have any advantage over Celsius.
Again - whatever you say man. Hope you’ll see the light soon.
I have. So has the rest of the world, hence the ISO standard that everyone uses. Including for most cases the USA.
I don't think it's that big of a deal to compare. You might say it's confusing, confusing for you. But in America we just know it, and changing it is so minor you'd confuse the citizens for no reason.
Man. What a European way of thinking, assuming that any other way than the American way could possibly be the right way. What an amateur.
As an American, you would say 4 July, but you would write 7/4. Can you not see that the European and rest of the world format, smallest to largest, is more logical?
I would say July 4th. The 4th of July is a bit of a different case because of the holiday.
An obvious example is may the 4th. July 4th is shorter than 4th of July, so that's the practical reason for our format. Don't know the actual reason, but that's the advantage I see.
Kinda proved how the American system isn't that illogical lol
We would say *4th of July”. Nobody says “Four July”
And we only do it for important dates for emphasis. In fact, I think that is literally the only date that we do it for. Any other date is “May 11th” for example.
You could also say July 4th. Either one is fine, with perhaps the second being more common for days that aren’t holidays. That just shows that Americans are more adaptable.
I see the american mass arrived to shit talk and harass everyone who’s country decided to form on logical systems, nothing out of the ordinary here
I bet if Europeans wrote and directed SAW they could have put their own date format in the film… but they didn’t 🤷🏽♂️
oh I couldn’t not care less, I came here to make a joke about dates, and now dozens of incels are harassing me
“Everyone I don’t like is an incel” lol
no but people who aggressively insult and harass someone because of a joke are
People who start something and get mad when other people respond are hilarious. Anyway, good luck with your “dOzEnS” of arguments.
oh I don’t argue, I am not a child I don’t care
You could never seem like you’re joking to be fair
Could not not care less. K
That we inherited from the brits
Just like the name Soccer
I think Americans got the date order correct, “September 10th” is more natural and quicker than “The 10th of September”.
“WHY WASTE TIME SAY LOT WORD WHEN FEW WORD DO TRICK”
Europoors when an American movie uses a US date format: “WhAt HaPpEnEd On OcToBeR tHe 10th”
