Am I the one who would be totally unsurprised if the kid told her the cake she wanted didn't fit the budget she had and he'd do what he could?
Bc that is what it looks like. He made a decent cake.
His cake looks better. The one she wanted is all plastic decorations.
Yeah the example cake is a fuck ton of fondant and plastic decorations
And you can say whatever you want: Fondant is shit to eat and should burn in hell.
The cake made might not be beautiful on photos, but at least can be eaten.
came here to say exactly this. his cake probably tasted WAY better!!
Man, I know we hate Karen but being willful that his cake isn’t better isn’t going to change the fact.
But also her camera is shit, making it look worse than it really is.
Excuse her she was shaking in rage when she took that...
That’s not fondent. I am dead certain that is meringue buttercream, though I’m not sure if it’s swiss or Italian.
Agreed
Homemade fondant is awesome. Some bakers are too busy or lazy to make it. But I do not believe that is fondant.
I like fondant D:
I think so too, but those decorations do make it the more expensive of the two to make
Plastic decorations that she could go to any cake decorating place and buy herself.
I know we want to hate Karen, but the flowers are absolutely piped with a meringue buttercream, drageen, and macaroons. The only plastic is the topper and the words.
No. It doesn’t look better.
She likely only offered to pay $10-$20
That's what I was thinking
Oh I saw the response the kid gave to her & he'd previously explained that the topper/ decorations wouldn't arrive on time and if she wanted something else & the mother told him that "as long as it's covered in glitter for her" which is why the kid ran with it so she's getting mad for literally no reason
the text msgs (posted somewhere else today that i read earlier) told them that the decal for the cake topper was ordered but would not make it in time and asked if any other requests are acceptable and even offered a suggestion "a frosted pink cake with her name on it?" and the person responds all easy going "yeah thats perfect aslong as theres allot of glitter on it" -- gets what they ask for and freaks out
i believe it to be real because there was a "before handing to client" photo and "after return" photo and it looks like she slammed the cake into the garbage just like she claimed she did in the toxic texts where she claimed she is calling the police (it had glitter missing like it was shaken off by landing in the garbage)
The first one is multi-layers, and the second is a single layer, so I'm with you on the fact that there is way more to this story.
She changed the delivery date, giving the baker less time. When he explained that it wouldn’t be possible to do the original order, she said it was fine.
The second one is at least two layers unless you're baking 6" thick sponge.
But yeah, the one on the left is at least more layers even if the other is layered
Oh there is, he contacted her that the Barbie part wouldn’t arrive when she changed the date very last min and she agreed to the new design
There was an update. Apparently, the Barbie toppers had to be ordered and there was a delay. They contacted the parent and said can we make something else as the topper won't arrive. The parent said anything as long as it's dripping with glitter. This is the cake they provided. Upon pick up, the parent said nothing. Took it home, complained, and sent nasty messages. They had her return it and gave full refund.
Or they simply didn't make cakes like that. Period.
The cake looks great in my opinion. Probably tasted 100x better than that fondant mess of pink.
Also if he is running a legitimate business, I don’t think he can make that kind of cake at all as it includes copyrighted material.
It's a 14 year old on FB Marketplace, I don't think the copyright thing is the top consideration.
You’d be surprised. Some of these companies are fucking megaKarens.
I'd tend to assume the topper comes with appropriate licensing. If not, that's more on the supplier of the topper than the cake maker.
It's just a plastic kit you buy
You can buy the cake topper they are licensed
Pretty sure the baker posted on Reddit (or their direct messages were posted) and they informed the customers that certain aspects wouldn’t be available far in advance, and the buyer OK’d the changes. Didn’t even complain when they picked up the cake, just the next day.
Tbh, a 6 YO will be the same level of happy with both cakes.
Let's be real, 6 year olds are only there for the frosting anyways.
I used to be a cake decorator at a chain grocery store and i had to quit because i couldn’t handle the demands of customers. Show pictures of a Pinterest cake that’s multiple tiers with extensive decorations then when you tell them the price “that’s ridiculous it’s just cake, it should be like $30”
Ordering a cake from a 14 year old and then publicly shaming him is kind of ridiculous. He'll learn a lot from this though. The Karen will learn nothing. You want a pro Barbie cake you gotta pay pro Barbie Baker prices.
Tbf, she did ask for a babrie cake, instead of a Barbie one, it's her own fault.
It looks exactly like a babrie cake. At your pearl.
~clutches perils~
Even assuming the misspelling of pearl for peril, wouldn't "Stay away from him at your [peril]" imply that she wants his business to succeed?
A babrie cake that a horny teenager clearly came all over. Impressive load!
*Barbie
*peril
and 'Stay away from him at your pearl folks" means the opposite of what you intend.
But, I'm going to guess that you had no idea you said the opposite of what you meant.
I guard my pearls with my life. I'm never going to that baker
I cast my pearls before the swine. It makes the swine happy.
That's a clutch move.
Yo legit didn’t make the connection between pearl and peril. I was so confused
Well, she is clutching pearls, does that count?
Considering the one making the cake is 14, I'm going to take a guess that this was not a legit business.
I can only surmise what happened was Karen found the picture on the left, asked a teen who's too young to be working in some (most?) states to replicate it, and got the cake on the right.
This is in the UK, looked the kid up and it seems like it's a legit registered business approved by the health and safety people to sell food.
If you have a registered business over here then yes, they have to come out and inspect your kitchen.
Has anyone considered copyright infringement for using the logo etc? I know it sounds weird but technically it would be. I’ve been to copier stores that won’t print something if it’s register or copyrighted, even for personal use. Just another possible angle aside from the fact it’s a decent looking cake for a 14 year and this bitch should learn how to spell and immediately after that get a grip…..
I'm pretty its a thing for cake shops too, they need to pay a licensing fee or something to the copyright holder to make branded cakes
Edit: although all of the barbie stuff looks like plastic flotsam, so it would probably be fine assuming Mattel gets its money
I doubt people would go through the trouble to give Matel a cut and I don’t blame them. This to me would fall under “too small to affect the brand” catagory
I imagine they're probably the sole supplier of barbie themed flotsam
But yeah I agree they wouldn't go gunning for a local 14 yr old baker, that would be the worst PR move i could imagine, and for essentially no financial gain
Agreed…it the Karen that is a huge douche
So she ordered this from a legit business? Seems like the kid shouldn't of taken an order they couldn't do
I'm betting you $10 she got a price for the cake on the left, and said no. It happens all the time. The cake is fine the Karen didn't want to spend money
Sure if we just make up things that happen, it happened that way. Just seems neither should of been doing either thing
I'm from the town this happened in. It's a small rural island so postal service is slow, he did order the specific topper for her but it wasn't going to arrive in time. He asked if she wanted to change the cake and she said "anything dripping in pink and glitter will be fine." The topper happened to arrive the day of collection and he included it with her order.
Have. Shouldn't have...
But you order from a 14 year old... What do you expect?! You know she wanted it cheaper than what she could have gotten elsewhere. i'm assuming she got what she paid for.
Hey look its the person who feels smug while saying 1 wealthy person from 150 years ago said the elite should speak differently from the commoners was right. The person that feels language hasn't changed in that time, in anyway what so ever. The person who sees no irony in this behavior in this sub.
Naw, it's more of a pet peeve. I was compelled. Next time I'll make sure to ask for your manager (that's a joke). No, I have like three grammar pet peeves and I usually don't say anything about them, but this one just got me right in the grammar gut- probably a timing thing.
I don't think i have ever felt smug in my life... But i still don't agree with the Karen in this post...
Man at least stand by your smug actions. You brought it up because you and others believe a grammer " error" or a spelling mistake somehow proves a point. It's smug, but at least stand by thinking rules of grammer matter
I told you my reasons, and you continue to make these wild assumptions. I'm sorry, dude. If you think I'm smug, then i guess I'm smug.
Take care. I'm out.
Wild assumptions* * Watching someone bring something unprompted that had nothing to do with the subject
Wait if it's a legit business then what's the problem? People go on social media to complain about all types of businesses and their posts don't end up here. Is it cuz of the police part or something?
Uhh. did you read the hateful reaction to a perfectly good looking cake?
Did you read the subreddit?
You lost?
Which one is the wrong one anyway? They are both lovely.
Both are nice...I know I couldn't have made either myself. But they are extremely different. Requesting either of those and getting the other would be a disappointment.
But there was a discussion between them about switching the theme
https://www.reddit.com/r/FuckYouKaren/comments/10sv0v5/karen_calls_police_because_14yo_didnt_make_very/
Awesome. I appreciate having more details.
Sounds like the baker was as responsible as they could be, sharing bad news ASAP and asking what they can do to make it better. I dunno know if Karen forgot the conversation, forgot their meds between that and delivery, or if a spouse stepped in and spoke all the insults and police threats. Totally unnecessary.
A three layer cake with meringue buttercream and a single layer of American buttercream is not the result of a theme change.
True. But we don't know the whole story. Sometimes Karens have a specific cake in mind and ask for 'A Barbie Cake', expecting the baker to read their minds.
It'd be different if she sent a picture saying 'I want one like this one, can you make it?'.
Exactly. We don't know for sure, but she may very well have sent that picture with her order. (it's so easy these days, it would have stupid not to send the picture.) If she sent a picture, the baker failed.
I noticed on a second glance that they mention him being 14, but it's really irrelevant if he was shown the picture and claimed he could duplicate it. The kid needs to learn not to make promises/contracts he can't keep.
Honestly this is the type of thing that it's impossible to judge without knowing their interactions. If kid was like "oh yeah, I can totally make that" then he's wrong, even though the cake he did make looks good.
If it was her trying to get a 14 year old family member to make this cake and pay him just a little bit or not at all because "family" and he was skeptical but said he'd try his best, yeah no.
should probably avoid hiring children then
They’re two completely different cakes and the finished cake has candies, not glitter. I get the frustration and disappointment. However, I have a feeling that this person chose a 14 year old based on price alone and felt she could demand adult professional results. It’s a damn good cake for a 14 year old. It’s totally different, but still impressive. Either way, I highly doubt she paid enough to raise such a ruckus. And got kids. I’m well aware that the kids don’t give a flying fuck what the cake looks like unless their parents made a huge deal about it and conditioned them to care.
Someone shared an updated post with more added to the story by the kid. Apparently the Barbie topper had to be ordered but wasn't going to arrive in time, so the kid contacted her and asked what she wanted him to do. The teen specifically described this glittery cake and the mom said okay and something like "as long as it's pink and shiny". The cake the teen made looks like the cake they decided on in their discussion after the Barbie topper wasn't going to make it. So the teen did everything right, including a refund after the complaint.
The person he spoke to in that earlier discussion sounds much different than the one complaining. I'm curious if maybe the angry Karen afterwards was a spouse, family member or a friend who took over the conversation from there after being disappointed at the cake. If not, this person is a Jekyll and Hyde
UPDATE : The baker put a statement on his Facebook page.
^ This fully explains the Karen part
I kind of think the real idea here is why would you think the cops would give a fuck about this? They have enough to do without getting called on something like this which is a civil not a criminal dispute? Not to mention it’s not even something you could really go to court over. Filing the paperwork is going to cost you more than it cost your for the cake and aren’t the courts busy enough with real issues? A judge is just going to get pissed off and through you out of the courtroom.
"Young man? We were called about the babrie cake. We're gonna need you to step outside...I said step outside. STEP OUTSIDE! DO IT NOW!!!"
{BLAM! BLAM BLAM!}
"Shots fired! Shots fired! Why didn't you fucking listen to me???"
She ordered a babrie cake not a barbie cake. Fuck you karen I used artistic licence.
"Also I have a very strict budget of $25"
Young man baked an absolutely lovely cake, far better than the one with all the plastic shit on it.
I would say the kid is talented! Well done whoever you are!
The piping the kid did is spot on, and that looks like a white chocolate ganache drizzle looks gorgeous. It's easy to fuck up.
What the horrible woman complaining about is that a lot of the stuff in the first pic is "bling" - bought decorations and toppers usually acquired online.
I work with cake bakers who do it as a hobby and a little extra money, they make beautiful cakes with beautiful piping but sometimes people want that bling. There is no shame in that but those things can be bought online and popped on any cake.
I hope this kid doesn't give up on his hobby because his cake on the right looks awesome.
“Hello, police? A 14 year old didn’t make my cake right, I want him arrested, NOW!!!!!! What?! Let me Speak to your police chief!!”
Jfc people like this should get fined for being such a Karen.
The cake he made honestly looks better, at least it looks like real food and not just a huge plastic decoration.
A 14yo made that cake?! Screw Karen this is a talented young man that deserves a heck of a lot better than being harassed by some miserable bleep. I really hope this waste of oxygen didn’t discourage him!
so she is upset he didnt stick a bunch of plastic stuff into the cake? I think the one he made was cute.
At your pearl
So - what kind of response times do the Cake Police log, anyway?
Seriously the 14 year-old baker's parents should see that this lovely cake and his effort should not be wasted - and plaster it ALL OVER HER UNGRATEFUL BITCHASS FACE.
Karen changed the date cake should have been picked up so the decorater couldnt finish it in time, 14 yo told her that and asked if she would like something else and Karen told to just drown it in glitter and sparks, then decided to shit all over the kid.
Just found out about it on another reddit.
This is what "Karen" means - lack of common sense.
If you get something that doesn't meet your expectations, what do you do? Yes, you try to solve it with the person you made the order from.
What does Karen do? Call the fucking police. What a POS
Hi, sorry, I’m going go pick on your comment for a minute.
“Karen” as an insult isn’t supposed to just mean lack of common sense, and it shouldn’t be used based on that alone.
Originally to be a Karen there was a racist component to her behavior, though that part has mostly dropped off as we’ve adapted the slur for other uses.
But it’s still necessary that Karens escalate situations way beyond what what is called for or needed in order to earn the label. That happened here with her calling the police. Karens are also ridiculous in some way or have some serious audacity that is remarkable to most people. Here, it’s Karen calling the cops on a 14yo who did nothing wrong but make her a lovely cake, as though that was a perfectly normal reaction to a business dispute with a teenager. Absolutely ridiculous.
Sorry again to pick on your comment, but I’m trying to fight against people labeling every woman who makes a request or complains about something as a Karen.
Very fair. And certainly as you said this woman is a Karen.
Another example: Customers at my workplace who bitch about having to bring their own reusable shopping bags because we no longer provide single use plastic bags are not Karens.
The ones who additionally threaten to call Corporate to complain about our “fake woke agenda” while claiming we stopped using single use plastic bags because we “just want to make more money by selling reusable ones,” which they also threaten to “expose” as a “scam” via the local news, are Karens.
I would add that the Karen insult typically also conveys a deeply misplaced sense of entitlement - i.e. "I deserve this treatment" "I get what I want because X". Many of the lovely people found in this sub could also find a home on /r/trashy as well due to their distinct lack of self awareness and lack of shame.
Yes, the entitlement should have been included in my comment too. Thanks for the save.
I think we use different words to describe the same. She has every right to request a modification to that cake - she is the customer, and as such she absolutely can ask for the cake to be changed. And that's the "common sense" I mentioned earlier. The same in shops, if you are dissatisfied with the service you are paying for, it's perfectly fine to say it and try finding a solution like normal people do.
A Karen typically reacts in a way that makes no sense in the given situation. If you look at typical "Karens", they seek conflict. They don't want a peaceful and quick solution, they just try to create a big drama about pretty much any slightest inconvenience they face.
I will give an example to make myself completely clear: Let's have a woman in a restaurant, who was served something else than what she ordered. A normal woman speaks up, talks to the staff and they find a solution in most cases. If the staff acts rudely or there is a dispute, a manager is called and a solution is usually found within 10 minutes. A Karen on the other hand skips this all, starts yelling that she was robbed of her food and calls police to announce a robbery in broad daylight.
Ok Karen you done ?
Perfectly demonstrates my point, thanks!
I have no doubt that she didn't want to pay for the cake on the left and so he told her what he could do for the price she wanted. But in her entitled mind she thought it would be the same still. I know how these people are from experience. They want the Instagram cake for a Walmart price.
At your Pearl. Lol
He made an awesome cake! Go 14 year old!! ❤️❤️
“Babrie”? “At your own PEARL”? Sounds like the 6 year old typed the post.
The scary part to me is that a person this fucked up in the brain is raising children
Pearl folks 😂😂😂
I quote cakes for a living. Here's my breakdown of these two pictures:
I'm going to assume the number of guests based on the finished delivered cake, which looks to be about 12 inches in diameter. At our shop, a 14" double layer cake like the right photo would feed about 50-60 people, so we'll go with that.
Left Photo: 10" quadruple layer cake (standard batter) - $207.50 Tinted buttercream rosettes - $8.50 Edible glitter and pearl dragees - $5.00 Barbie cake deco kit - $15.00 Fondant name - $25.00 TOTAL - $261
Right Photo: 14" double layer cake (standard batter) - $137.50 Tinted buttercream - $8.50 Sugar drip - $20.50 Sprinkle topped - $6.50 TOTAL - $173
From my experience, it's highly likely that the left pic was out of her budget, and the guy made something that was. I encounter this every day.
Sorry about the formatting. I'm on mobile.
She really called the police on this kid? He made an awesome cake but it isn’t what she wanted. Ok. But she hired a 14 yo to make a cake and then called the police? How can you justify calling the police about a cake? Then she blasted him online. Talk about entitlement. Who is the adult here? But calling the police?
He apparently made an update on his Facebook. Does anyone know what it said?
"Stay away from him at your pearl" is - and I'm guessing here - supposed to be "hire him at your peril." Or maybe she is concerned about my...uhm.. pearl..?
The "pearl" is too "pearlous" for me!
I mean the cake he made looks delicious
When the lights come on and you think you’ve been talking to a Barbie all night but they’re a actually Babrie.
"at your pearl" that was pretty good.
...but, if she ordered the cake on the left, assuming that the baker was given the photo, and got the cake on the right, she has reason to be mad.
There was an update posted: The baker ordered the topper and it was set to arrive on time. Then the Karen decided she wanted the cake earlier, for a day the topper wouldn’t be there yet. The baker told her this and the Karen said that as long as it was pink and girly it was okay. Karen is definitely in the wrong for approving the change, after moving the date for a time the topper wouldn’t have arrived, and then throwing a fit about it. And let’s not even get started on calling the police on a 14-year-old for not making a cake up to your standards.
They are quite different.
Did the baker inform them from the beginning that he wouldn't be able to do an exact duplicate? Because from the reaction, she was clearly expecting one.
She changed the dates. He informed her the decorations wouldn't be delivered in time. She told him to adjust the cake to what is pictured on the right. (Cake with dripping and lots of pink sparkle decorations)
He's 14 ffs..
Then he's old enough to look at a picture and know when it's out of his capabilities. (Again, that's assuming she showed him this picture.) I had a friend doing cake decoration as young as 12 for family and rumor spread around town; she was taking orders and getting paid by age 14. She knew to get details before she began working.
If there was no picture, Karen should have given clear details of what she was expecting; if she didn't, he should have known to ask questions. Never assume you have just free reign unless the client says "I'm doing a ___ theme party, do whatever you want".
Calling the police is definitely excessive. But disappointment isn't unreasonable at this point.
EDIT: Since posting this comment, there has been an update from the baker shared on Reddit which includes the discussion between the mom and the baker before delivery. Now that we know more details, we know that the teen did everything right: told her the topper wouldn't arrive in time, discussed an alternative cake, and the cake he delivered looks like what they discussed. Karen's being Karen's.
14 with a business. There was either examples or the 14-year-old had a good word of mouth.
They should have called the spelling and grammar police. JFC
When you try to save money lol
A 14yo made that? It looks pretty good to me
It looks great! Poor kid! You did awesome buddy!!
She harassed a 14 year old can’t imagine what her own children endure.
Looks like a Babrie cake to me.
Maybe he would have done it if she asked for a Barbie cake.
That's a dope cake for 14years old, 30+ and I can't even spread icing proper
Loves that she leaves off the rest of the story
The cake decorator stated proof that because the date was pushed up and the decorations wouldn’t be there in time the mom chose a different theme
Impressive how someone can fuckup a sentence twice in one go. First off, it’s “Peril” not “Pearl”. Also, “Stay away from him at your “peril” folks” would imply that if you DON’T get a cake from him, you are fucked.
Is it just me or does the cake on the right actually look very delicious? Impressive, I'm 28 and my last attempt at a cake looked waaaay worse than what this 14 yo did
AT YOUR PEARL
I like to protect myself from pearls.
I’d hope this community would rally against this mom because she’s clearly bullying and trying to tarnish this 14 year olds reputation. She’s going to ruin her 6 year old daughters life.
I've looked on this kid's Facebook page for other cakes he has made. First, he has a response about this woman making it clear that she changed the date of delivery at the last minute, before the Barbie cake topper had arrived, and she said she didn't care so long as the cake had sparkles on it. (I hope she didn't mean aluminum sparkles.) That's what she got.
Next, the Facebook page shows other cakes this kid has made. He was more than able to make the cake she showed on the left, and has made others that look even better. No doubt she just thought the kid could read her mind since she couldn't be bothered to tell him what she wanted in more detail than "That's fine" when he suggested an alternative to the Barbie cake once she changed the date.
Definitely way out of line with how she handled but I would prob be annoyed too if I was her. She ordered a Barbie cake and while what he made is a nice/cute cake but nothing about it conveys Barbie cake
theyre literally the same cake yet one has plastic decorations on it. What might have happened is she attempted to low ball him, gave him a price she would pay, and he made the best cake with it while still earning profit. We don't know the whole story, so it could be one way or the other, but best not to assume.
My guy, those two cakes do not look like. The Barbie one looks like it’s a three layer cake with carefully smoothed butter meringue frosting, piped flowers, edible dragee, and macaroon. The 14 year old’s cake looks like it’s buttercream/piping and a single layer with sprinkles and a white chocolate ganache.
Wow she is talented, I thougth it was a profisional.
Pretty sure most people in the comments here would not be OK receiving a product so far off from what they asked for.
Why is she a Karen? I don't get it?
She should be mad. That cake looks nothing like the picture.
I'm with Karen; regardless of his age if he is old enough to run his own cake baking business he needs to be realistic with customers. If he had said at the start I can't do that but I can do something similar and gave realistic examples then yes she's at fault. If she sent him that picture and said can you do this, and he said yes, then I 100% agree. Age doesn't excuse him, if he is running it as a business taking orders and money off paying customer, he needs to meet a certain standard.
If she didn’t like the cake then she should of said at the time she picked it up 🤷🏻♀️ instead of taking it home, dropping it(?) I assume seeing as half the sprinkles are missing and the piping is squished, and then dragging him on a community page. The theme was changed due to her changing the pick up date so she can’t exactly compare it to the original photo. All she’s done is make a tit of herself
He could do it but she changed the date
She agreed to The change. She changed the order last minute and he let her know that the topper wouldn’t arrive in time and she agreed to the new cake as long as it was shiny and glittery with the drippings on the side. Scroll up. Several people posted a link to the pics with the actual texts shared between the 2. This kid did an amazing job on the cake. She should be ashamed of herself. She waited last minute and changed cake designed. He ordered toppers and also let her know it wouldn’t arrive on time and asked her if there was something else he could do and she agreed to the change. He did an amazing job throughout.
All of you acting like you wouldn’t be pissed off either. I don’t think any of you would be calling the police, but come on.
He’s 14, you can’t be pissed at that. Plus the fact that he’s already had to change the theme, I assume last minute because she wanted to change the date for pick up and probably didn’t charge a lot for it either, can’t really complain
Yeah, I can. I know what a 14 year old can do.
The 14 year old said the issue of making the cake was the topper due to the date change. Not the cake itself.
The real question is what made this woman think the 14 year old could do a professional cake. Word of mouth? Examples on the business site? 14 year old overestimating their skills? Karen being a Karen?
The topped was an issue yes, but due to that the whole theme was changed so it essentially wasn’t a barbie cake anymore, despite the fact that she did actually get the topper with it since it came early.
Apparently she’s ordered from him before, and looking through is page yeah his cakes look good, good for a 14 year old, the cake in question being of the same standard. Nobody else has had an issue with him and it’s a small place so things travel fast, and going off one of the comments on the original post the woman seems to be a bit of an issue elsewhere
Yeah, so, she expected a cake from the left when his cakes looked like the ones from the right?
Yeah, the kid might have bitten off more he can chew, but that's on her.
No? She originally was getting the cake in the left before she changed the date for pick up, the topper wouldn’t be in time so he asked her for a different theme, which he tried to cover on the left He’s only 14, he’s not a professional. She should of said at the time if she wasn’t happy
… Yes.
His concern about the cake wasn’t the fact it wasn’t going to be ready. His concern was the topper.
If you took off the topper, the cake on the left looks nothing like the cake on the right in terms of visual craftsmanship or ingredients. Sticking the topper on would not improve the appearance it in anyway. It would look like a homemade cake with a topper.
He is professional enough to have a business. If Karen believed he could do the quality on the left without any samples or proof, this is on her. If the kid had quality samples equivalent to the left and delivered the right? It’s on him.
But it’s not enough to call the cops.
No.. because the topper wouldn’t be in time, he asked if she would like a different theme instead of barbie. “It would like like a homemade cake” maybe because that’s exactly what it is 🤨 he’s 14, what do you expect?
The biggest issue is the way that she handled it. If she wasn’t happy she should of said on pick up rather than waiting and dragging his name. If you look at his actual page his cakes are good, along with the cake he provided, much better skills than your average 14 year old. And going by the comments on both her post and his, nobody else has had an issue with him and someone elsewhere has had issues with her regarding bins (I think) so clearly it’s not out of character for her
Because it's missing plastic
The cake looks about 10x better than what I could do.
A 14 ye old…? … come in karen… you knew
Why doesn’t she idk make the cake herself since you know this kid is fourteen and Karen is most likely in. At least her mid twenties
I think the cake looks really good. Just add the plastic Barbie picture, and it's the same.
Way too many Karen’s in this world!
I mean what’s the charge false advertising the kid should sue for child labour 😝
Who hires a child to make them a cake?? 😂
Hes a child, cant enter into a legally binding contract, buyer beware.
Did said 14 year old have the legal ability to use trademarked images?
AT YOUR PERIL?!?
She…literally misspelled ‘Barbie’ when she posted a pic of freaking Barbie SPELLED OUT!
just think of the dental bills she won't have to pay
Should have gone to Tesco.
Honestly the second one looks less optically perfect, but it looks so much tastier lol
“At your pearl”? What?
Think I saw the kid’s clap back to her posted somewhere on here yesterday.
IIRC: The plastic toppers didn’t arrive in time and she approved the design change. When the toppers got there the day of, he gave them to her, too, but the cake was finished by that point. She then accepted the cake, ate the cake, and then posted, bitching about the cake.
Why couldn't she just make it herself? They have kits for that shit.
Cake on the right actually looks like a real cake lmao
I can't get over the fact that this Karen took screenshots of pictures in her phone's photo gallery and posted those to Facebook.
One of these looks like it actually tastes better
Cake he made is so much prettier. I'm about to be 32 and I'd be thrilled if someone handed that off to me lol
Tbh, that kid did a very good job anyway
The fact that a 14 yo kid made that cake blows me away. I'd absolutely buy a cake from him. And their response to the nastiness of the customer is commendable. I really hope this doesn't ruin baking for him. He has talent and obviously loves to bake. It would be AMAZING if this situation increases support and brings business to him, just to spite that evil woman.
Thats very unprofessional for a non-professional.
Have they no shame?!?!
At your pearl. Karen are a dumb breed.
