Hey New Yorkers, Philadelphian here, headed up your way later this month for a work trip. Conference is at Javits, staying in times square (I know, I know). Getting there Monday night, leaving Thursday morning.
Looking for some great meals within 30 mins by cab. Not picky whatsoever, pretty much like anything. Would love a French recommendation. Also love sushi, Italian, noodles, Sichuanese, Vietnamese, Indian.

FYI, the food at Javits is the combo of horrible, expensive and ridiculous lines. So plan ahead and BYO. There is a Russ & Daughters and Pret a manger at Hudson Yards.
I liked Estadorio Milo’s at Hudson Yards for dinner. Mediterranean fish with a view.

Just make sure they don't dump a gallon of mustard in your Cuban sandwich and you're good.
It’s SO good. That sandwich probably took a good 20 minutes off of the end of my life, but it was worth it
Margon is great! probably the best cubano I’ve had in the city! just make sure you check the open hours because they do close quite early
At Javits for lunch - go over to 20 Hudson Yards, to the top floor for Miznon, or a lower floor for Fuku (good fried chicken sandwiches). Miznon is excellent. Otherwise, good options - Vietnamese - Cha Pa's Noodles and Grill on 52nd, Ramen - Tabata on 9th around 40th - you'll walk right by it. Turco grill on 9th has good spinning meat options. Though off the path a bit - in the morning try to get some Crullers at Daily Provisions on 33rd btw 9th and 10th. Any co-workers you gift a cruller to - they will remember!
I highly recommend the Spanish market at Hudson Yards.
The lunch special at Limani is a solid bargain take on good Mediterranean fish in the area.
Le Bernardin if you REALLY want to get some fish.
Cafe China is probably the default take on Sichuanese in midtown. I haven’t been since they moved though.
if youre dining solo, ichiran for ramen is good and a novel experience. there's a location in times square. if you're doing dining with a group, quality italian is like "fun" italian by a restaurant group that has a few different places here in nyc.
Bet, ichiran looks great and quality Italian looks cool if I end up organizing a coworker meet-up
Post up at Rudy’s - down a few hot dogs (I’m only half joking)
Pastis for a classic NY french
Frenchette for a little more elevated.
Ci Siamo for some italian in your direct area.

If you want just a dessert or snack, Veniero's is like 15-20 away depending on traffic and has some great pastry/desserts.
As someone who divides time between Philly and NYC I have a few suggestions for you....
Balthazar is a better version of Parc.
Other options - Buvette, Frenchette and Pastis.
For breakfast try Friedmans or Westway Diner.
For Italian you could do Becco or Ci Siamo.
There is a food court at Hudson Yards for casual stuff like Shake Shack and Fuku.
There is Mercado Little Spain and for something more upscale try Greywind.
Another casual food court is Gotham West Market at W 44th and 11th Ave.
Try going over to Los Taco 1 at Chelsea Market and walking the High Line park one evening.
Some of my favorite restaurants are - Jacobs Pickle, Mighty Quinns BBQ, John's Pizza, Patsys, JG Melon (cash only which is annoying), Odeon, Bubby's and Veselka.
There are great steakhouses - if you want something close to Times Square try Wolfgang's.

Frena (the old Taboon) is worth the visit and only a few blocks walk from TSQ. It’s been one of the top joints in my hood for a decade.
Mala Project isn’t far from Times Square good sichuan dry pot.
A little further for sushi is an old school place Hatsuhana.
Learn and use the subway. Nothing is more than 30 min by train.
Pizza at angelos at 57th and 6th, top 3 in the city and very convenient for you

Plus lots of Michelin starred restaurants like Per Se, Le Bernadin. (Mari is one star too)
To start with, cross off Vietnamese if you are coming from Philly. You can get better at home.
Time is hard to judge in a cab because it is heavily traffic/time of day dependant. 30 minutes from time square should easily get you down to the West village. Walking should easily get you down to Koreatown, Hells Kitchen, and a plethora of good restaurants in the 50s.
You have excellent szechuan a short walk away. My favorite near there is Cafe China.
If you are wanting pizza, I'd do a three slice swing through the west village. Go to L'industrie, Mamma Too, and Joe's.
In time square itself, Los Tacos no. 1 is very solid. Ichiran ramen is pretty close too.
For sushi that won't blow out your expense report, there are a bunch of mid level handroll places that are good. Mari.ne, nami nori, and kazunori are all worth a look.
Silky kitchen has good spicy Chinese noodles from the Hunan province
For sichuan, mala project in midtown is good and close to times square. They have an east village location as well. Ive been able to get reservations for midsize groups (6-8ppl) online and had a good dining experince.

Head to Hell's Kitchen and there's plenty to choose from. For French in that area - Marseille, Le Rivage or Chez Napoleon
