Billionaire real estate investor Barry Sternlicht says he expects at least one bank failure per week due to real estate loans
Discussion/ DebateResidential loans are in great shape, very low delinquency. Commercial is another story though, definitely some risk there in the office space sector.
And that’s while being propped up. Lots of contracts on leases coming due post pandemic. 5y are common so I suspect pre covid ones to start hitting. I know my company consolidated a few floors effective June.
My company closed the office and gave us permanent WFH roles. I’m sure if they had a longer lease they would’ve made us return already, but I moved ¯_(ツ)_/¯
My company is closing our DFW office and gave everyone WFH roles as well. Roughly 2000 employees. The office was opened in 2018. They are still looking for a buyer.
Do you have any memberships for co-working spaces?
I do not. I built out a home office during Covid and have pretty much everything I need in my home, including a 49” ultra wide, 34” ultra wide, conference speakerphone, etc.
Do you think the idea of co-working spaces would be appealing to you/your coworkers? Or do you prefer working from home
Fartboy, you thinking of opening a coworkering space?
What a horrible idea "Fartboy workspaces" would be lol
I'm just considering a membership lately, and curious if people think they are worth the cost, or if anyone actually uses them
Fartboy Workspaces “your companies deny it, we supply it.”
Farts, that is
I think they can be. Though some fall into that biz woowoo shit. Id avoid those. The kind thatbuse buzz words everywhere.
Source. Opened a bakery with a coworking space and am friends with the former owners.
I prefer working from home. I know some coworkers will meet up in different cities for a weekend and work during the day in the hotel and then go out on the town at night.
Same. Company liquidated our annex and is remodeling our office into a studio and event space for things we would usually rent space for. Whole company is remote permanently. I've never even been to my company HQ.
