Anyone use Biyork Hydrogen 6 flooring before? Good/bad?
They use Unilin's Unipush (Drop lock) for the Hydrogen 6 plans.
The hydrogen 6 tile have Unilin Uniclic, it is a pain but you can use the angle / tap method instead of angle / angle. However, this is a strongest locking profile surprisingly.
Cool, drop lock sounds better. I tried the angle/tap method no go with the tile. Only angle / angle works and is a pain in the ***
The locking profile (Uniclic - angle / angle) is the strongest in the industry, especially if the subfloor is actually flat.
Im installing the hydrogen 6 white tile soon. Hope it holds up lol
Yeah it seems pretty strong but a hard install for a newbie. After 800 sq ft of it I can now do it perfect, but the first 200 had to redo
True, the drop lock is way easier.
u/bikewrenchsucks ill be installing the hydrogen 6 raw as well.
Please keep in mind for the hydrogen 6 raw (and all hydrogen 6 planks) when you want to disengage two planks on the short side you have to slide them away from each other. Do not lift up the planks, it will damage the locking mechanism.
Did you install the "raw"? We are going to install it as well but I'm under the impression it's a brown undertone yet our one floor we have down it looks grey.
Any tips??? We are struggling…
We've been struggling with the hydrogen 6 porcelain tile today. We went with the suggestion by steventual and did angle/angle cause couldn't get tapping to work. So join the short end with angle then lay it down and then lift the whole long side row on angle and push it in, lay flat. This is the hardest laminate style joints I've ever seen cause it doesn't stay locked in. I won't be buying this again but were able to get the bathroom floor done. Good luck!
I saw several 12 mil for the same price on the HD site.
I used biyork hydrogen 6 porcelain (it’s a white 12”x24”) for my kitchen and couple bathrooms. It’s ok but a real pain to click together as it has click on both ends and sides. If your doing plank it’s going to be a pain in the butt. If you do go for it, seems your in Canada, try “u save flooring” first, they had the best price, listed $4.27 on that website you’re on I got it for $3.49 from u save. Everyone else was $3.89-4.50
