Sony is reportedly angry at Dakota Johnson for “dragging” ‘MADAME WEB’ and failing to “take any responsibility” after admitting she hadn't seen the film herself.
FilmMoi - Movies / TVI mean, it’s not all on her that the film is a failure, it is very much the fault of the studio and the director/writer for the most part, however I’m not surprised to see this reaction from Sony, because she did not come across well in a lot of the press for the film, and honestly she’s not a great actress either, but has benefited heavily from nepotism so 🤷♀️
in any other timeline where she wasn’t a nepo baby, she wouldn’t be a successful actress. honestly I don’t even think she wants to be. it doesn’t seem like she gives a shit about the craft or film in general.
That's conveniently forgetting that she was perfect for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
She's beautiful, she has a sly sense of humor, and she's sort of the ideal of a generic white woman. She also was quite good in The Lost Daughter.
I don't think she's a good actress, but there are plenty of actors who have a successful career because of their screen presence, the way they look, and a part in a successful movie.
she's sort of the ideal of a generic white woman
💀
I guess there's a niche for everyone
That's not exactly a niche :-)
I think that's the joke bro. You defended her by saying she's special because she's like millions of other random women in the world.
You defended her by saying she's special
I did no such thing.
That's literally absurd to claim. Here is your comment.

And this is in response to a comment saying she would not be an actress if not for nepotism.
I have no clue how else to interpret your comment other than a counterpoint. You literally listed positives about her and included that she is the ideal of a generic white woman.
What exactly was the point of your comment if not defending her?
That's not a defense. I'm stating facts. Not every fact is a defense. We're not in a competition.
She is objectively beautiful as in most people who see her will classify her as beautiful.
For what it is worth, she's not my type. But I can still acknowledge that she's beautiful.
As for her sense of humor, again that's widely acknowledged. For what it's worth, I personally think she's funny, but I'm not an outlier so I'm making a general observation.
Her performance in The Lost Daughter was well received.
Do I think a young beautiful white woman who is funny needs nepotism to succeed? No. I think she needs a lucky break to get noticed among the other young beautiful white women, but movies and television shows are filled with people who look like her.
Things are slowly changing, but her type 'young attractive white woman with generic looks, but more beautiful than most people, are a staple in movies and shows.
Some of them have famous parents, many of them don't.
Now, if she had been cast in movies that exceed her capabilities, it would be a different story.
But generally speaking, she gets the parts that women like her get.
Dakota Johnson, Scarlett Johansson, Brie Larson, Emma Stone, Emilia Clarke, Blake Lively, Jennifer Lawrence, Elizabeth Olsen, Margot Robbie, Kristen Bell...
They all fit the same template.
