How do you report a known scammer on Facebook Marketplace? The automated methods don’t work at all.

This person changes profiles and keeps selling scam items, they scammed me and others but Facebook still allows them to do it. Reporting the items does nothing and they’ve used 5 different profiles to sell the same items. I’d like to try to contact someone directly if at all possible and send a custom question without have g to choose the options the provide. Thank you for any help!

There is functionally, no punishment for scammers on FBM.

If enough people report a listing, it will be taken down, and potentially banned, but then they just make a new account and repeat the process. Most scam accounts are made using automation, you are spending minutes to report an issue the scammers can replace in less than a second.

Thank you for the response. I’ll keep reporting the listings. This person is local and keeps using the same 5 accounts. It’s so frustrating. There is a detective working my case, at least.
