Crazy… never seen it like this.
You could walk it?
I think they meant walking straight onto the ride as in there’s no lines.
once I guess sure. but you're all wet and there's people chasing after you. it's hard to run in water.
If you do the Behind The Seeds tour.
I believe there is a festival overlay and this is the first weekend of flower and garden.
And, to a smaller extent, Soarin' is back to normal
Loved seeing California again but I have a different perspective as a California native who experienced California Adventure when it first opened in 2001.
First time I rode Soarin’ at Disney World, I felt like I was in a shopping mall.
Can you explain?
The Land pavilion looks like a food court from the 80s that's been lazily trying to keep up with modern aesthetics, but also thinks the 90s was the peak era for shopping center design. I'm all about it, but its a polarizing subject
Made me laugh, but you're not wrong
Ahh yes it’s very dated 😆
Preach
First weekend of a new festival?
Short price to pay for one of the best rides in WDW, in my opinion.
Is it me or did LwtL used to always have a wait of around 20-30min back in the 90’s?
Yes, I remember those days. Still one of my favorites. I think that they used the produce grown in the greenhouses for Garden Grill, but when I asked our server, he didn’t wasn’t sure and got the manager who said the volume wasn’t great enough to sustain a restaurant. It would be cool if they expanded the greenhouse and were able to serve a premium meal with the harvest. I wouldn’t complain.
I had breakfast at Garden Grill in January and the server explicitly said the watermelon was from the attraction as she set it down.
Tiffin’s at Animal Kingdom has a salad their menu lists as using greens from the Living with the Land attraction at Epcot.
at Tiffins
The Land Salad Young Lettuces from the Land Pavilion at EPCOT, Muhammara, Feta, Sumac, Garlic Breadcrumbs, Citrus Vinaigrette $13.00
Yep, that tracks with my memories as well. I always wanted to sit on the outside perimeter and loved when it was facing the prairie house!
I went on the behind the scenes tour 4 years ago, and they still produce a ton of food for the parks there.
I don't know exactly where it goes though, but I can't imagine it's enough for an entire popular restaurant's worth of food.
There is a greater volume being produced now for use in the restaurants on property. Our most recent ride, last week, said that the fish for the restaurants on property come from our aqua farming.
It happens
Living with the Land was busier for us to visit when it was the Flower festival.
More veggies and flowers are in bloom around March-April (saying as I went first of February this year, first time not during spring training), so folks may enjoy seeing it more right now.
Though yes…. 35 mins. Is amazing for wait. Guess I owe mom lunch: I thought it funny they had extra queue lines because it’s been minor waits, even with a NCA National contest weekend.
And worth every minute!
Yeah, because that ride is dope.
I love LwtL. Such a great and under appreciated ride, not to mention one of the classics and a great way to relax on a hot day.
I think they can update the theming and animatronics, but it’s such a great classic ride.
My hot take: two things. First, it is my opinion that this is more proof that park tickets and annual passes are STILL not expensive enough to ward off crowds. And 2nd, that there are STILL not enough things to do at Epcot.
Can we address #2 before we address #1?
Sincerely, poor.
Greetings fellow poor 🫡
Limiting the number of tickets per day while keeping things affordable is much better than making things prohibitively expensive. I suppose this is a hot take but theme park reservations made sense for this reason. You already plan out everything else in advance, so park reservations weren’t a huge deal. Annual passes are at an all time high cost, and you need to understand that for locals, having Disney in your neighborhood can come with a lot of inconvenience (ie: tourist prices at grocery stores, traffic etc) so the benefit of an annual pass smooths that over.
Always on the first day or days of festivals. I avoid these days generally if I can. Also food booths are totally overcrowded on these days
Went Friday and wasn’t as bad phew. Think I waited maybe 15 mins.. cool ride
I'd expect lines like that for the nighttime Christmas overlay, but a normal Saturday morning?
Isn't it spring break for some areas in the USA already?
Winter Break for parts of New England. Spring Break for my part of New England is April.
Yes, some.
It’s also spring training for MLB so anyone watching a team within an hour-two hour drive will likely carve out time to visit Orlando.
Until this year, when we went to Florida we timed it to spring training. When Houston moved to West Palm from Kissimmee… we elected to just go to Disney and stay while trip on campus.
First weekend of the flower and garden festival
Riiiiiiight....
First weekends of Flower and Garden and also many states have started Spring Break
Won’t stop me!! 🥬🫐🍊🥒🌾🪷🌱🪴
Well I live on a farm so…
I live on an island, so……🤷🏻♀️
My point is the first scene with the farmhouse, dog, tractor, and tree swing is basically my life 365 lol. We enjoy the ride.
Us parents are trying to get our nap in! 💤
Walked on this am after riding GoTG. Boarding group 14 and almost entirely alone (only 5 people).
I didn’t even get a boarding group! We got a lightning lane. Also, we were “on it” as I got a 9:00 AM Remy.
It’s an amazing ride. I’d say the best ride in the park.
You love waiting for the mouse 🐭
Nemo is also 35 min…
Was it raining? It's been raining off and on in Gainesville today.
When it rains, people will flock to the Land. I know I've done it many times. Ride Soarin', still raining? Buy a Fat Tire and ride LwtL. Repeat Until it stops raining.
Nope. Has been threatening but nope. Still got to do everything we want thanks to Genie Plus though.
Usually when it looks like that it’s more like close to an hour.
Worth it.
I would wait for it!!!
I guess you were not there during holiday time, they put Christmas lights on and you’d think it was the next best E ticket, waits of 45 minutes to an hour after dark.
Yeah we come this week most of the time. Our kids get an early spring break which typically aligns with the start of F&G.
I’d wait an hour to ride it. Arguably my favorite ride
Worth every second
Deserved. Goated
Worth it.
Only time I’ve seen it like that is for the holiday light overlay (which is well deserving of the line)
I’ve noticed it happening more often in the last few years. Glad it’s being appreciated but miss walking on it.
