Detroit Lions
r/detroitlions•224.3K subscribers•71 activeGreetings and salutations fellow supporters....last year before the season I put up a post about how and why I believed we would bury a LOT of old skeletons and either claim the North or at least make the playoffs at minimum.....now I have some thoughts on what was our most glaring weakness....the defense w/ the secondary being painfully obvious...and to a lesser degree a lack of supportive sack production from anyone not named Hutch.....I honestly feel w/ the additions via trade/FA/draft our defense will live up to the standard of our logo....between the run lane clogging Reader...the upward trajectory of Aim..the development of Brodric and the drafting of Wingo (do not sleep on the fact he wore the most prestigious jersey number in LSU's history)the inside is set and ready to wreck..if Levi can finally turn it on that's just a cherry on top....now w/ the IDL primed that will allow a already rocket hot start Hutch to take his play to even another level...all we need is solid production from a rotation of Davenport/Houston/Pascal which will now be easier for them w/ all the attention the IDL will demand...which leads me to the unit that will benefit the most...the secondary...they will not be forced to maintain cover as long...now w/ Glenn being able to play his preferred press/man coverage AND having the personal to do it will unlock the full fury of this defense....I feel our run defense will remain elite....TA and ER had the 2 highest run defense grades in the draft at the CB/DB position so there will be no drop off there...our LB corps are battle hardened and on the rise as well.....calling it now....at minimum we will field a top 10 defense by any metrics....and as always FTP while lmfao at the way the Vikings are handling JJ.....parting shot.....we make the SB...there...I said it...
I just saw a post that said the Lions gained a little over 10 mill in cap space due to June 1st designated cuts. Anyone know who the cuts were for the Lions?

Anybody else unwilling or unable to put a pencil behind their ear? Did this unknowingly today and when I realized it, I was upset
Pretty cool link here. I know Najee isn't perfect but would be awesome if Vaki is as good as Najee Harris in the NFL

Just thought I'd get some discussion going on who might be on the 53-man roster. Got the names from https://www.detroitlions.com/team/players-roster/
Anyone else thinking we handle Arnold’s development similarly to Gibbs? Start him at CB2/3 behind Carlton and Robertson and ease him in and let him develop before tossing him at CB1 especially with the learning curve that comes with the position?
I do have some concern watching some of his college highlights where a good chunk I noticed he’s very clutch-and-grab which will get you burned in the NFL
Penei, Hutch, ARSB, Sewell, Ragnow, Gibbs, LaPorta, Montgomery, Arnold, Branch, Goff, Jamo, McNeil … and so on. Play makers and elite talent all over the field and they are great dudes too. Team is stacked. LFG. 🦁 💙
Dude hasn’t been healthy in a few years which is of course the biggest drawback, but when he was healthy was one of the biggest threats in the game. Even if it’s for depth because behind Amon-Ra, Jamo, Raymond the most depth we have is DPJ after the departure of Reynolds.
He’s going to be 31, was able to average 45 yards a game still in 10 games.
I’m leaning knocking out the Packers but winning in KC was absolutely amazing.
