Hello DFW Denizens.
Recently I heard from a coworker that their insurance company, Farmers Insurance, had sent them a letter stating they would no longer be covering their property. The letter they recieved stated:
“The dwelling is ineligible for coverage due to the following unacceptable conditions: Your prior Coverage A - Dwelling amount, indexed for inflation, would exceed our allowable Coverage A limit for your area, unless the household also has a Farmers personal auto policy.”
I did some research, and found this WFAA article covering the same issue.
Just curious, has anyone else with Farmer's gotten a similar notice? This feels highly unethical and at worst illegal/violation of Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
