This post is for my husband, who renovated our bathroom, while dealing with a very hormonal pregnant woman.
He never seems to see how good he is at DIY. But I can't help but share this with pride, at how amazing he is.

Couldn't agree more. The long wall between the toilet and shower would have been better. Perhaps water and sewer lines weren't easily available there.
Who wants to have a bath right next to where people poop though?
It doesn't look like there's enough space for the toilet in between that plumbing wall and the tub
Where have your mirrors gone?
I can only assume they are vampires.
And a place to store toiletries. They're already putting stuff on the window sill, that window sill is going to be where all the things get put.
Could put a skinny medicine cabinet or shelves to the right of the sink, though it might feel a bit crowded
When you’re pregnant the last thing you’re thinking about is looking at yourself multiple times per day.
Behind the palm trees.
It's beautiful! I'm over here trying to figure out what plants would thrive in there because I have a problem. I love the end result, and I hope you're feeling well :)
Aww, thank you! There definitely will be plants. We haven't added the finishing touches yet. Had to rush over to try and finish the nursery :)
That wallpaper is amazing! I thought it was real at first, too!
I have a small Monstera plant in my bathroom that grew quite big over the last years! And maybe some ivy’s?
It's amazing! Your husband is very talented. The choice of plants on the wall was very authentic.
It's a beautiful bathroom. I would add a swing arm mirror on the wall to the side of the sink. Other then that, it's perfect.
Thank you that's a really good idea. We've been thinking about where the mirror should go!
Bathrooms are tough to design. Your bo did a good job. I would love to borrow him to redo my bathroom. LOL
Tell your husband I’d like to marry him.
The more the marrier
Amazing job
A vanity with no mirror?
Oh uhm. Interesting
Yea, I'm not digging it either but to each their own.
Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one. Getting 80s scarface vibes from the decor. Good job on the actual work though!
You think so? I was thinking "wow one of the few diy bathrooms that I love"
It looks extremely dated IMO. My parents had a handed down couch with almost that exact palm tree design on it from the early 80s
That look is back in style as far as I can tell. I like it. I'd be afraid I would get tired of the dark tile though.
Ah that makes sense. I love dated/retro things.
I fking love that wall-print in this space and as my wife can confirm I’m a big wall-print hater
You nailed it
Thank you! Took two months of looking for the right print, we knew what we wanted, just couldn't find it for a while. Was worth the wait!
How does this work with the humidity of the bathroom? I'd like to put some sort of wallpaper up in my bathroom but I worry that it will just fall off.
In the future, you can go to sign shops and get this sort of thing done. My wholesale printer does it for me for $3.5 psf
Oh wow, I love that!
I really love that tile! Looks great!
Reminds me of the 80s, not in a bad way.
Very unique
Daim!
What a transformation! 👍
Very nice!
Definitely an improvement! Will there be a mirror anywhere?
Also just a small thing but close the toilet lid for photos.
Is your husband single?
Haha I'll let him know he's got options!
Love the banana trees! This is one of the few acceptable wall prints for a bathroom. So lovely.
Edited to add- congrats on the new baby!
Beautiful wallpaper
good job
Stunning! Bold and beautiful!
I like it a lot. He did a really good job at the tropical theme. My two cents, although some may say tacky, but I’d have put glass pineapple like fixtures for the light. As for the second cent, I detest that frosted glass please put a tropical curtain over that. But to each their own. Overall I’d give it an A considering the window replacement was to keep budget on the lower end.
HO-LY-COW! That's incredible! Your husband is an artist with tile.
Thought it would be funny to add some dirt and a shovel near the toilet to complete the whole outdoor feel haha
Love this
Well done! My wife and I knocked out our hideous and small bathtub and diy upgraded with tile and larger bath, and painted. Overall it came out nice but we underestimated the difficulty of tiling and there's small inconsistencies but nothing too bad.
One thing I'd recommend to put a finishing touch, is edge the top with crown molding to hide the small issue with the upper edge of the wallpaper and shower. Not sure what's above the shower tile up to the ceiling. But again, a fantastic eye for that natural and peaceful aesthetics!

That must have been a lot of work, and definitely looks like a huge improvement! Aside from the things others have already mentioned, I'm going to say that while I really like the sleek look of the standup shower, I think that sharp corner of it would really bother me in terms of unusable space and when it comes time to clean it.
What is it about cyan/blue colors always being used in the bathroom?
Man your husband did some serious renovating. This looks so good. Looks professionally done from the pictures to be honest. 🤘🏻☠️🤘🏻
Black ceiling would be the nuts.
I totally agree. Such a moody aesthetic. I love it.
Oh no....
Very tasteful! Nice job
Am I the only one who thinks this is ugly af.
You are not. I’ll start with this, it appears to be great craftsmanship from the pictures. I’ll go easier than you and just note the obvious, in my opinion. There is no mirror that we can see. And no place to even put a mirror really given the sink location. This one is an easier fix but that light fixture? All of the pieces (tub, sink, toilet, shower) look like they randomly fell out of the sky and in to this bathroom.
All of that said, it’s not my bathroom and I’m very happy OP is happy with it!
Also nowhere for a trash can to logically go. That would bug the hell out of me.
Yes.
It is not my style, but it looks classy and is very well done. Just because it isn't what you would choose doesn't make it ugly.
"doesn't make it ugly"
Literally an opinion.
It looks like a bad 90s poster. You have horrible taste too.
Ok, Ken. 😏
I made a comment on a forum. You could have downvoted and moved on. You didn’t. You commented. Which I then did and so on. You’re mad because I disagree. And that’s ok. Call me a Ken. It’s Reddit. I’ll be ok.
I literally said "oh my God" when the reveal dropped. Not in a good way mind you.
I guess it's not for everyone.
I think everything looks great except for the wall print
Which is literally 75% of the remodel….
You think some wallpaper makes up 75% of this?! The freakin sink moved!
It’s the main focus. So yes.
Well, it's well done but aesthetically speaking it feels too bland and dark for me.
Perhaps white and dark green could go well but it just cuts to white directly which makes it look bad to me tbh
I agree well done af. Just ya nothing I would do. Also makes the some look small af.
Prob not, but some people may think it’s nicer not to be an asshole to some lass who’s just thrilled to bits over what her husband has achieved for them both.
Oh my god... someone actually did it. You improved your bathroom on r/DIY.
(Seriously though, this is really nice!)
I'm going to give both a big ole L
Same
Normally when I see these I think "it wasn't so bad to start with" but in this case it really was no offense :)
It's a HUGE improvement, only critique I'll say is I preferred the old sink and the plants are nice, but odd.
So you tore a linen closet (or essential bathroom storage space) to install a shower? Is there additional storage that's not in view?
I was responding to the crass nature of your reply. I was assuming you were either a troll or a young kid. This was posted because the woman was proud of the work her husband had done. Instead of commenting on his evident skill, you insulted their decor. Crass and immature.
Oops! This went to the wrong thread. Sorry!
Halal
I’m pretty sure you had more space how it was before .. but definitely needed an improvement 😊
Is that a drop in tub only supported by 3 sides?
Why not wait until it''s finished before posting? Reddit will still be here, unfortunately.
Really love that dark green tile you used as a backsplash
Really hate that wallpaper you put up. Too busy and doesn't give the contrast to let the shower tile pop.
Love the mural!
Is that heated towel rack run through a steam boiler Supply or something?
Big job, well done. Can I ask what toilet that is? We are looking for a smooth sided one and I've only found a couple; I'd like to look at a few more before I decide
Can we see the photos between #7 and #8? The mold against the window has been very suspicious...
That's quite the bathroom. A lot of visual stimulation. Nice job Husband!!
It was cute, albeit run-down before, the new one i don't love the wallpaper personally but the tiles are gorgeous
That’s quite nice
Looks fantastic!
New towel STAT
Aw, I just wanted to say how much it hits me in the feels when people share how proud they are of their partners
I absolutely ADORE that tile!
No mirror?
Love that big leaf wall art, my wife won't let me mural up the place so I took over the guest bath and put a forest mural in the inside of the door. Your bathroom looks great.
I think the demo of the closet to make room for the stand-up shower is the best part.
Although I like the placement of the sink in between the tub and toilet aesthetically, the toilet and sink should have been swapped so that there could be a spot for a mirror.
