About a year ago a hit my head skiing and have never really been the same the headaches and nausea have gone away but I still have constant brain fog and am generally an idiot and today I got in a fight with my freaind and he punched me in the face a couple of times and I think i got another concussion I’m kinda scared I’m a goddam idiot already and I can’t go any farther down that road I don’t know what to do
Damn. I'm so sorry. Did this happen just now? Seek medical attention after the fight, especially if you were knocked unconscious. Depending on how violent it got and how severe the hits and your reaction to them, there may be risk of more urgent damage in addition to the concussion that may need immediate attention. From there, limit screen time for a couple days, lay in the dark and get rest, and if you can use an ice pack on your head. After that gradually working yourself back into your normal routine may prove beneficial. Also I've heard diet changes may also help.
On an unrelated note, you're not alone. I for one am in a very similar boat. I never felt completely normal after my first concussion either, and having suffered a second on memorial day I've dealt with all of the same emotions, so if you need an ear I'm here to listen.
In terms of PCS, I believe the subreddit does have an FAQ. Reddit is a bit hard for me so idk how easy it is to find, but I hope this all helps.
I wouldn't worry about it. This doesn't seem like a concussion and I'm not sure there ever was one. Even pro boxers can't generate enough force for a straight on punch to cause a concussion, if there wasn't any rotation in the swing I really wouldn't worry. A neck injury plus chronic stress could explain all of this.
It's also very easy for hits and bumps to trigger previous symptoms if you've had a concussion previously, so that's also a possibility with this recent incident.
