hello fellow clicker training people! I am hoping that some of you are based in Aus, even better NSW and have any recommendations for rewards/treats for the easy keepers out there! I struggle to find anything that doesnt have too manny additives/is just forage based to use! Thanks!! I did use hygain fibre essential for a while but the small pellet size lead to a lot of wastage. I have also tried using things like celery but they got sick of that pretty quick!
I use fibressential too(it's part of my oldies regular diet) but I also use lucerne chaff. Haven't had any issues with wastage but a problem I've had with chaff is that it isn't the best for dropping into a bucket on a windy day. Also my mare finds it a bit high value(but she finds everything high value🙄) so I mix it with the loose bits of pasture hay from the bottom of my hay bag. Wish we had better options here! A low value hay pellet would be amazing.
Edit: you can get hay cubes from a brand called multicube but they are quite big so only really work if you are using a low rate of reinforcement, learned that the hard when when my mare choked quite badly on them 😬
