I'm a single father...my wife passed away in 2013 leaving my 10yo son and me. It's been hard and a pleasure raising my boy to be a fantastic young man... I've done and am doing the best I know how. I'm very proud of him and a little proud of myself.

Lately when I have been working out I have been feeling stronger than I have in a while. I can do push-ups with the correct form like it’s nothing now!

Recently I’ve been benching sets of 5 with 230lbs (104 kg) at 16 years old

My kids have been home since mid Mar.. They have been at home doing distance education for a long time now. (Still are.) I took that as an opportunity to do it too. So, last fall, I took an online course, the last course I needed, to receive my AS Degree. Here I am, 10 years and 3 kids later, with my degree in hand. I'm so ecstatic.

So I'd love to brag about me living a life that I love: I am 28 years old English teacher, I have my loved ones healthy and well, have my GF that cares for me and is invested in our relationship. I helped a lady who had fallen into the snow today and she couldn't get back up because of the ice and her cane had fallen away from her.

I was upset that I had to park farther away from my usual spot and on my walk I heard some faint calls. It took a moment to get her up and brushed off but we were able to do it. Got her car brushed off and stuck around until she got warmed up and felt good to go. It really changed my perspective on the way life happens.

I haven't told anyone, idk why but it just seems like something I shouldn't talk about. Like anyone would of done it if they were walking about.

The girl I have a huge crush on asked me out a few days ago!!

I had my first therapist appointment last Friday and I also have a group therapy appointment on Thursday. I cleaned my room today, ate some food and I am still alive. I don’t think I have much else to brag or to be proud of.

I don't mean to brag, but I have THE BEST dog ever. His name is Milo and he is very tiny and gives the best hugs. I just came home from college recently and he was very happy to see me. He is my best friend and I love him.

I’m really good at my job. I’m an ER nurse, in this insane pandemic, and get compliments from my coworkers and bosses. That’s all.

I got my first IT job offer starting at $16 an hour. It's not a lot of money by any means, but it's the MOST money I will have ever made thus far, and I'm 29. I'm super excited to kickstart my IT career and finally earn a decent living!

I'm 28 with a house, car and wife. Even with the chaos of life I've been able to pay off $500/w of debt after bills for 2 years straight. All I have left is my mortgage and wife's car.

I stopped smoking Jan 1st! I know I shouldn’t have started to begin with, but I’m pretty proud.

After a year and a half of classes, 580 hours of hospital rotations and 122 hours of lead time on an ambulance along with 2 national tests taken and passed on first try, I can officially say I am a paramedic.

I (20f) kissed a girl for the first time yesterday... I’ve only recently came out to my family, but we’ve been dating since January. It was one of the most nerve wracking things I’ve ever done and kinda a big deal. However idk how comfortable my family would be if I told them, even tho they were fairly accepting of me. So I appreciate the chance to share it with you, Internet Mom!

Mine seems so vain in comparison to others but years ago I completed a charity stair climb of the CN Tower in 15 minutes.

144 flights of stairs. 1,776 steps. Average time is apparently 30 - 40 minutes and the world record is a bit over 7 minutes. To this day I remain very proud of my 15 minute time.

I didn’t even train for the damn thing, I just winged it. Back then I was very active and apparently in great shape - as I learned that day.

I made some art and I didn’t get upset or frustrated with myself for it not being perfect, I actually enjoyed myself for once.

I don't know why this makes me feel so relieved so thank you so much, and I didn't get to read all the stories but congrats on all of them!

My story: I'm a swimmer (17 year old male). When I was younger I used to be ranked about 10th to 20th in my national age group until the summer when I was 14. In this summer I finally won my first national championships medals (bronze and silver) and felt like I was on the top of the world... I had so much motivation, I kept training hard and in December (still the age of 14) I won two gold and two silver medals while in one of the gold medal swims I also broke the national age group (NAG) record for the event.

Since then I haven't broken any other NAG records but I was half a second from one this summer, I still win gold medals, and still I haven't given up yet. The records aren't really what I'm aiming for (in this age what's more important is international championships) but it's still very nice to know my efforts pay off.

I still give my best in every exercise and hoping that after these times of Covid pass, my hard work will pay off!

I haven't really been able to fully share my story with anyone so thank you to everyone who read it. Sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging but I decided this time I will not censor any part of my story.

Math tests have always been the easiest thing to me, I have never studied for a test but I always get at least an A, however I do wanna start getting used to studying in case they actually start getting hard

I went made a dentist appointment by myself and went to it. Actually discussed Some issues I am having. Actually told the dentist I wanted a tooth pulled instead of a root canal (I would normally wouldn’t say anything and just go along costing myself $ and more pain). I even called back after my appointment to ask for antibiotics because they didn’t prescribe them there and then went into the pharmacy and talked to them myself too!

I’ve been poor my whole life and the last time I went to the doctors for help and attempting to get medication for my epilepsy was when I was 15. I’m 20 now and I made an appointment with my doctor to get help and ALSO a appointment for my mental health that I’ve struggled with for YEARS. I’m so damn proud of myself but I’m soooo nervous. I tend to just not go to things bc my anxiety is really bad but I’m making it a thing to hype myself everyday to make sure I go to these appointments

My boss at my new job told me I'm doing a great job. That doesn't sound like a lot, but at my previous job, I was never encouraged like this. (I'm also averaging really high on tips compared to my coworkers in the same position).

Just this week I got accepted into graduate school to be a teacher and I haven’t told anyone yet. I feel like it’s exciting and happy, but a lot of people are going through hard times and are sad so I don’t really want to say anything. I’m very excited though. 🤍

for me i’ve always had trouble moving around places, as in i tend to find a spot and “root” there. it’s the same for when i’m at home (i live with my grandma), and i typically spend most if not all of the day in my room because that’s where i’ve “rooted”. but last night i sat out in the living room and with my grandma to watch tv and talk, and today i went with her to get ice cream and did a puzzle with her in the dining room! it’s tough for me to leave the spots i’ve “rooted” in even if i’m comfortable around the people- getting up to get a drink or snack feels daunting, or going to check the mail. but i’m really proud i was able to get out and also spend time with my grandmother!

I'm killing it in my MA program and I'm really proud of myself. I went to a prestigious university for undergrad but I had mental health issues and screwed everything up. For years, the mere thought of applying to my MA would trigger an anxiety attack. Anyways, I applied, wheedled my way into a prestigious program through sheer force of will, and now I've got an A/A+ average and I'm looking at PhD programs.

More than anything, I'm proud that I've got my mental health under control for the first time in my life and I'm actually succeeding at my goals.

I, a trans girl, had my parents around for lunch in full girl mode for the first time.

It may not sound like much but being myself in front of my parents without a single care of what they thought was liberating.

Ok i get crapped on alot but ill say it one last time. Im only 16 and im building a house with my dad and 3 metal techs. Its 8,800 sqft downstairs and 5,162 sqft upstairs. Upstairs has a full kitchen, full laundry room, decent living room, 4 bedrooms where two have a jack and jill bathroom, and a master bedroom with a closet you could live in. The houses structural skeleton is all red iron (huge I-beams and square tubing), and the non structural skeleton (framing fir the walls and windows) are all 2"x"6x10' or 2"x6"x14'.No big time construction company, just me, my dad, and 3 metal techs which are now our friends. And im getting paid! Its awesome! By the time its done, theoretically i can build a house with out any knowledge from a construction company. And the same applies to cars and trucks! Now i just need to get into either my dream job (the chances are meh as of now) or go to the rodeo business.

I got my new matcha in the mail today and now I have a huge collection of matcha tins. Each one is only 20-30 grams but I only use 2g a serving so I’ve really been drinking a ton of it

I’m about to finish college in June and I just applied for a license to begin my career. It’s not much, but it’s big to me and I feel like I’m taking big steps.

I've been turning in my assignments on time recently! I'm a sophomore in high school and online school has been really hard for me, and I've struggled to stay motivated and to stop procrastinating.

The second semester started a few weeks ago and so far I've been turning in everything on time, and even if something was late, I turn it in super quickly afterwards! I'm paying more attention in class and putting in more effort. Not a huge win since it's only been a few small and fairly easy assignments, but it's improvement and I'm pretty proud of myself!! :)

I’ve been learning how to play the piano since the pandemic started. I went from knowing nothing to being able to play some fairly complex songs (for me anyway). It’s something I’ve always wanted to learn how to do and now I’m doing it!

I'm a math student, and I turned in my first homework assignment for a class I'm taking this semester a few days ago. My professor commented that I have beautiful proofs, which meant a lot because I really didn't think I was good at writing proofs at all.

I absolutely love that you're doing this! I suppose I'd brag about how I've been managing to get up on time more frequently. It's always been a challenge since I'm a very heavy sleeper. But for the past few days I've gotten up on time and went to bed at (sorta) reasonable times.

My partner and I just bought a gorgeous new apartment together! It’s not the biggest or fanciest but it’s ours! I’m so pleased with it but we can’t share with a lot of people because of the current situation and it’s notoriously expensive to buy a place in the city we live in. I’m so excited to decorate it once we unpack a little more!

Oooo I never brag. I recently got offered a higher paying job because of my work ethic (20M), I took the job and when I went to leave my workplace at the time they offered me permanent and tried very hard to make me stay. Idk it felt good that 2 companies wanted me. Thanks for reading.

I met a girl on imgur by the end of 2015. I'm from Europe, she's from the US. She was a single mom working full time, I was just single and a student close to graduating. At some point we decided to give it a shot. I flew over several times, graduated in 2017, tried to arrange for her and her girl to live here, which wasn't possible because of unfinished custody business. So I took it onto myself to apply for a US visa, moved over there, got married, started the custody proceedings, which ended up so devastating for the biodad (who wasn't involved in the daughter's life at all, just actively tried to make things more difficult), so he offered to give her up for adoption. Adoption went through, we applied for a visa in my home country, got approved, moved here and live now in a comfortable 3-bedroom appartement close to my parents. A few months later, my wife got pregnant, but I also got laid off from my increasingly worse job at a startup but landed a massively better one a few months later at a large company for about 25% more pay. So, I was able to get my first car and can now put more money aside for the future. 2nd daughter was born May last year, all healthy and cute, her sister is now in Kindergarten for the second year, speaking the local language very well. Oh, and due to the pandemic, I was also allowed to work from home a lot, which meant that I was there for most of the time to see my girls grow and develop.
So yeah, it was a bit of a ride with luckily more ups than downs and a lot of factors that could have ended badly (like rushing into a relationship across the Atlantic, being tied down due to an unfortunate custody ruling, losing my job sooner and not having the funds to go through with our plans etc.), but they didn't. Which I'm very grateful for. I couldn't be happier :)
Now we're looking for our forever home.

I recently got into playing the violin and today was the day I played my first tune from start to finish. I ain't got much of an audience only my 2 cats and i could not tell if they were impressed or not

This is such a wholesome post and you seem so lovely. Okay, mine is pretty trivial but it's been such a pleasant surprise to me and I don't really have anyone to share it with other than my partner.

So, I randomly decided to buy some basic art supplies and try watercolour painting. I haven't painted since leaving school and I was never any good at art. But I've surprised myself this time by being both better than I thought as well as so much more able to enjoy it and just really immerse myself.

I even feel like watercolors have thought me the importance of not trying to control things all the time and to just go with the flow which are things I often struggle with in my daily life. I only did a couple of pieces but I really enjoyed it and keep wanting to paint more. Can't believe I'm the same person who kept failing at art and thought it was a hopeless cause :)

Came out earlier last year! Now I've got a great girlfriend, got into the trade of my dreams super easily, have a more stable home life, and my self esteem has never been so high!! When assholes at work insult me now it doesn't affect me at all!!! I'm still fat and gay and kinda weird but I love myself more than I ever have before!!

I shoveled for an hour yesterday and skiid for an hour today. Started running again and power yoga. Trying to lose pandemi pounds

I got an A on my undergraduate thesis, and I was the only one in my class to do so! :) Feels silly to brag about, but I definitely did not expect to get a high mark. I edited a video for work and it was very well received! It was the first project I ever worked on for this job and it was about a very heavy subject so I’ve been nervous since I got started on it months ago. Thankfully everyone loved it! It’s giving me confidence that I actually do have the skills I need to succeed in this field.

I've been giving a lizard I own basic problem solving puzzles like they do for birds or mice. He has a dome shaped rock which acts as a little hide, I sometimes pick it up and put it on it's side when I wish to get him out. I accidently left it up the other day and forget, realised when I was out grocery shopping. Came back and it's down, he's just sticking his head out looking at me. So I picked it up again and he's worked out that if he wants his hide back he has to go behind it and push it down.

Making a megamind lizard here, he'll be crunching imaginary numbers in a month.

i’ve just submitted to two statewide poetry contests for 2021- if i win these two they’ll be the 6th and 7th times i’ve won 1st in a state poetry contest in 5 years!! and i’m only 16, which feels like an achievement? it’s a small state but i’m still so proud of myself :))

I'm proud of myself for making a big (for me) decision of finally switching schools

my old school sucked so much that when i transferred i felt like such a wee baby (basically i got to make friends, join events, get chosen to inter-school competitions, and usual school stuff that my multi-million school surprisingly lacked)

i finally got the chance to try and upgrade my weak social skills and overcome some insecurities and anxiety. whole lot more to do in this school but it's pretty great imo

I'm proud of finally taking my Christmas tree down today. I have alot going on in my life, and I'm unhappy sad and lonely alot. It makes it hard for me to do things. So I'm happy I did a thing today.

I'm proud of myself for dropping out of university to take a break to find out what I really want to do in my life. Preasure from people around me pushed me to study something I didn't enjoy. Dropping out is not something I would have ever believed I'd do, and I almost had a mental break down because of the stress. But I'm really glad I dropped out, because now, bit over 2 years later, I have found the path I want to follow.

Mine isn’t that interesting of a brag really but after my first I had some horrendous post natal depression, I was an outpatient on an acute ward type horrendous. Anyway it’s taken me a good couple of years but now I’m off the meds and I’m studying for a new career in an industry I love. It’s been hard, parenting with a messy headspace is challenging but I’m back in control as much as I can, I think I’ve got it!! I may not be the same person I was before this but I’m starting to like who I have become and what I’ve created for myself and my family.

This is the best post ever :) Me, I did something particularly nice to a stranger and helped them go through bad time, does that count?

I am so proud of myself for starting a business so I could work from home! I’m making the most money I’ve ever had and happier and more comfortable than I’ve ever been.

I even have money to invest! I’m on my way to starting my second business which I’m excited about!

I've been playing piano for 8-9 yrs but my skill is pretty average compared to other people who've played for 8 yrs (i can play Rondo Alla Turca but not the whole piece, there's just a part that's absolutely impossible for me).

Tried out a piece that's totally out of my league and managed to play it after 2 months. Issa bit forced but for the first time i feel like i've improved

Also i managed to get accepted into my dream major in college after being rejected once (i took SAT and appealed for it with the score). This is a huge decision bcs i withdrew from my previous major and im happy bout it

okay, okay, so, uhm, I'm very nervous because I'm scared to talk about myself (I don't usually do that) but I could play the flute better than anyone that was on my band class last year, or at least my band director said so, and my mom is thinking about getting me a dog or a cat because she says I'm always very lonely

I woke up at 5AM today to cook breakfast for my family. 😊 I'm the youngest child and yes I still live with my parents at age 26. It's my older sister who usually cooks for breakfast.

I was homeless from 17 to 20 because my mom was abusive (I'm 23 now and turning 24 next month) and I'm a software developer now. I got a job making 40k with no degree at the end of 2019, and today is my first week at a job making 80k+ a year (still no degree). :) Two weeks before starting this job I got scouted by one of the biggest tech companies in the world (I told them that I just accepted a job so they scheduled talking to me at the end of this year as well as 2022 since that works the best for my career plans). I started a business at the beginning of last year taking contract software dev work, and I started a charity teaching homeless youth to program.

I built this life mostly myself and I'm really proud of it. My mom can't take it. No one can take it. Plus, I got my boyfriend into programming last year and he landed a new job 5 days before I landed my second around New Years, so now we both do it!

I got into Harvard and Stanford both! It’s crazy and I’m so pumped. Hard to talk about to people without coming off as a douche but I’m so very excited and this is a nice thread to say it! Thanks for making this space, internet mom!

Congratulations on this. I think thats awesome! Small things can really make the biggest of differences. Maybe you could try getting your child in the habit of keeping things organized that way? Idk how old they are but little snacks or toys could really encourage this. I personally am a clean freak and can't stand when things are unorganized so i feel the pain here lol.

Me? Something im extremely proud of: i am going to be 26. I have a FICO credit of 753. Ive never once been late on a bill or my rent. I also have a rather decent chunk of money saved up to the point that i just dropped 1500 in a single stock where im not even phased by it. I make over $18 an hour and im just proud ive done this adulting stuff by myself this long with little issues.

Im also working 40 hour weeks and going to a "class" after midnight so i can better learn to do stocks with the goal of being 100% financially independent without a job. I just honestly wish some other people in my life were a bit more supportive of that. I quote class because my coworker bought a $6000 class about learning how to do stocks.

I learned and still learning japanese by self studying Went to travel japan with my wife 3x now. I am now pursuing on taking the n5 exam.

I got a scolarship from the Institute of Sweden in order to study there for a period of 5 months (I study the Swedish language at university). I managed to save up from that allowance after I returned home and I have enough to get a tattoo I've wanted for some time.

I feel like a failure and a coward because I believe I can't finish my studies. Especially since I just took a year off to undergo a therapy program. BUT, I am now studying again at full time, and I am trying. Or, at least, I'm trying to try. Idk, I just think I need to feel proud over something and I couldn't think of anything lol

I'm fixing my mom's old car! Backstory: my mom died 8yrs ago and it was pretty sudden so I was in a bad place for a while. She had a vintage sports car that she got as a gift from her dad around 20yrs ago but it was broken so she never got to drive it. When she passed, the car went to me but I didn't have any interest in cars and I didnt know a single thing abt it. Fast forward to 2020 and with all the spare time I decided to start working on it to pass the time and I'm making some progress so far. Its not much but I hope my mom would be proud of me.

here goes: as someone who was granted a Credit Card at the age of 18, I spent pretty much my entire twenties in unsecured, avoidable, bad debt. After finally getting my shit together, I was able to use my CERB advance to pay off my credit card back in March. It's been almost a year since I've been charged any interest whatsoever by MasterCard. Even got a bit of savings stashed away too

Old guy here. When I finally became a grandfather, I promised myself to be a better grandfather than my dad was to my son. I play a great Ken in Barbie's Dream House, dance just like Gunter in Sing, and help my granddaughter climb a 6' ladder and "fix" stuff with her own tools.

First time making bread from scratch, made Japanese milk bread, my goodness was it delicious, 100% gonna be making it again soon.

I'm in my first year of university (what an unfortunate time for covid to hit). I was always nervous of getting bad grades, but... last semester, I got all As, which made me part of first honor!! Also, making new college friends purely online has been so hard especially because of my anxiety, but I've successfully made 2 new friends :)) never met them yet, but hopefully I can soon

I got over a breakup with someone I fully believed to be my future husband within under a month. It surprised everyone including me, but I know in my heart it’s because I took care of myself, wasn’t codependent and developed a really good set of coping mechanisms. I am just so grateful. In the past I would have fallen into an extremely deep depression and ended up in a very bad place.

I learned how to do very basic knit and purl when I was little but never really did much. I just found all my wool and needles and after three weeks, I have 4 squares sewn together which is 1/4 the size of a baby blanket. I'm going to keep making squares until it's big enough for me but I'm really happy with how it's looking so far!

Mine seems pretty silly compared to the others here, but I have 53 subscribers to my YouTube channel.

I made it through yesterday. I will make it through today. I am going to make it through tomorrow.
