We used to have beach lounge chairs that converted into a flat bed way back in the 80’s. Not sure if they still sell those though.

Have you tried "Zero G" chairs? They don't go flat but they do go pretty close and are the closest thing I've experienced to a camping recliner that I can sleep in.
