Even when I consider buying the Ultimate Carry option, my LCP Max still makes more sense.
13 rounds of 380, extremely light, and extremely comfortable in my pocket with Desantis Superfly or AIWB with a kydex holster.
The 5 shots, even 6 shots with the 32 H&R Ultimate Carry option, is less than half of my LCP Max.
And also, new 642/442 are going for ~$500, and the UC is ~$735. That kind of money for a 5 shot revolver in 2024 is fucking crazy, in my opinion.
Before people say the LCP Max is a POS, don’t. Mine isn’t and most people would say the same about theirs.
My main carry is a P365 Macro non-comp in a Tenicor.
as someone who carries giant red dot double stack guns, its nice to have the option to tote around a jframe in shorts on days you want to be comfortable. I think a 5 shot jframe is a good investment because their so convenient. After a decade of carrying a glock 19 with a spare mag I've accepted the fact that the possibility of using my gun in a civil encounter instead of just running away with my lamborfeeties is slim to none, so whether I'm carrying 5 shots of 38 or over 30 of 9mm I'm pretty much never hung up about my capacity or if I feel undergunned.
