Iceland Budget Travel Tips

Sharing a few budget travel tips for Iceland based on a September 2021 trip:

  1. Rent a car or camper van, and max out your insurance... I paid a hefty fee when the wind blew open my car door and caused some significant damage.
  2. Book accommodation with access to a kitchen, restaurant food is expensive but grocery store provisions are reasonably priced.
  3. Buy duty free alcohol on arrival at the airport.
  4. Scenic views and and many incredible hot pools are free!
