Something with this vibe (maybe about being young in Eastern Europe?)

Hi! I guess I want to feel nostalgic about my childhood and teenage years, spent in a place that looked like this in the 90s and 00s.

I've already read "Swimming in the dark" by Tomasz Jedrowski, which has a bit of that vibe and which I highly recommend.

So something about growing up, love, maybe high school/college life in the late Eastern block more than gulag stories.

Suggested books can be in English, Polish & Danish.

I have one recommendation, but I'm not sure how useful it's gonna be, because the book doesn't have any English translations.

The original is in German: Das mangelnde Licht by Nino Haratischwili, I read a Polish translation called "Coraz mniej światła".

It's about a group of girls who grew up in Georgia in the 80's. It's not 101% optimistic though and contains descriptions of violence, just in case that's not the vibe you're going for.

Edit: Neeevermind, just looked at your post again and saw that you speak Polish. Then I definitely recommend Coraz mniej światła. :)
