A few people were suggesting people join this sub in a wedding FB group just now, and we’ve had so many people join since my last welcome post, so I figured this would be a great time for a new intro post :)

I am looking for one that I can customize as much as possible and doesnt take fees from the cash fund/gifts. Also interested in websites that allow you to return gifts for cash. Feel free to share any pros/cons

I've fallen in love with the AG Ava dress. It's 100% silk, fits like a dream, and is the only dress I can see myself getting married in. And that's after trying on over 30 dresses. I first tried it on a few month ago, and it was my favorite, but I decided not to buy it just yet because it was at Mt first bridal appointment. So all signs say it's the dress for me.

The problem is that it's $4000, and while I can afford it, I can't get over the hump of knowing that I'm spending $4000+ (plus tax and alterations) on a dress I'll be wearing fro less than 24 hours. I've tried looking for it pre-owned, but unfortunately, I can't find it because this is from her new line this year.

Brides, how did you rationalize to yourself the decision of spending thousands of dollars on a dress you'll only wear once? How much did you end up spending on your dress, and was it worth it?

Also, brides who have chosen AG dresses, what were your experiences with them?

I am looking for a wedding videographer for our June 2025 wedding in Umbria, Italy. There will be approximately 40-50 guests and the setting is a 16th century monastery with lots of greenery and rolling hills in the background.

We want to have a “WOW” moment at our rehearsal dinner. It is western theme… we were thinking of doing a custom hat bar with welcome beverages for guests but wondering if most guests will show up in the western attire already since most are not from Texas? (i.e where their own hat?) But also was thinking people may not want to put the hat in their suitcases. Probably over thinking this! HAHA… Our other idea was a mechanical bull but figure ladies in dresses won’t maybe go on it? We said the dress for this is casual so jeans boots etc.

Hi everyone!!! Having some trouble coming up with ideas on my own so wanted to come on here to see y’all’s thoughts bc I feel like this group is a wealth of knowledge.

I’m wanting a 2025 wedding, and am open to doing a destination. I would prefer somewhere in the US due to ease, but am open to other options! For context, I am located in FL, and family is all over the US. Wanting to stay under $100k all in, but am feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin! At this time, I don’t have a solid guest count, but would get it as small as needed for my dream venue.

I love venues with both indoor/outdoor options and a pretty view! It would also be great to be somewhat near an airport. I feel like I am looking for a 🦄 at this point hahah.

Just graduated. Day was magical even though there was less than ideal performance from partial planner. I wanted to get thoughts from other wedding planners before I have a discussion with my own on their performance. what do you feel are your responsibilities day of or even month of as a partial planner and day of coordinator? Do you make sure the couple is well taken care of, drinks always in hand, dinner first before anyone, do you update them if any event is running behind therefore next event will be behind? How do you handle clean up and leftover food? How do you handle ceremony if there is a language barrier? do you make a round of the grounds to make sure all guests there are now seated?

I’m just trying to see if my displeasure is due to lack of knowledge for the wedding planner responsibilities or if it is truly because they dropped the ball.

I’m looking for a wedding photography team to cover Thursday-Sunday events.

Planner has supplied us with three good candidates but after having consults nothing feels right yet.

Who did you have shoot your wedding weekend celebrations that felt like a fly on the wall, captured the day as it unfolded and didn’t try to pose you every step of the way?

Budget 10k-13k and we prefer 2-3 photographers.

Location is Midwest, private estate. Late Fall 2024.

Looking for any recs or testimonials for France or EU based photographers! We are having a 150 person wedding in the south of France in June 2025.

Style: Love documentary style photographers where you can feel the energy of the photos and are not too posed. Mix of digital and film if possible. With our size wedding, we may need 2 photographers.

Budget: Ideally we are trying to keep budget around $10-15k for wedding day + rehersal dinner.

just got quote for my invitations from the letterpress/design lady and it’s ~$6500 for 150 mailings!?! WHATTT. What have people spent and what do you deem as being the highest cost for invitations you’ve seen?
