Ben2c Nautilus duct

Question

Hey all,

I know that the duct is a sensible subject on our machines, many claim it is not good enough, then many others claim this is the best thing ever. I never had issue with my cooling but I am curious. I always kept an eye on the ducts that came out and as far as I know they are all worse than the original.

I found the new Ben2c one called the Nautilus. Link removed by reddit, but it is easy to find on aliexpress on Ben2c official store

Anybody tried it ? Is there a review available or some before and after prints ?

What do you guys think about it ?

I bought it with the toolhead plate. It takes like 30 days to canada, I will post about it

I received it this morning. I am printing a toaster torture test with the stock duct and I will use the same gcode after that print for the Nautilus.

It is very well made, the inside is partitioned to distribute the airflow evenly. I heard of powder being stuck in the Panda Jet, I had nothing stuck in this one. It includes a usb drive with a stl for a custom nameplate and some recommandations for the settings (I won't follow them for this test, I'll use all stock settings for the 0.2 standard profile)

Excellent 👍 looking forwards to your results. That's for taking one for the team. I really hope it improves the overhang performance.

Okay so my second toaster finished. There is a difference between the two, but honestly I couldn't tell which one is better. Both have good and bad spots but not exactly at the same place. Then again, this is a torture test and not really a regular print. I will print a benchy or something and compare again.

I did the glass of water test and as expected, the Nautilus is perfectly centered.

Interesting, thank you for the input, as it caught my eye yesterday. I love the look, but compared to performance, I'm not sure it's worth the $50+. I would want better performance for that price. I do like that it does look a lot more central in comparison to the stock duct.

Yeah look is really good, I like the faceplate a lot. This X1C prints 24h+ prints so it takes a while but I plan to keep going back and forth and note the differences between real life scenarios

So far, I think it's on par with original, no real improvement beside being lighter

One nice thing to note, they angle the air flow clockwise because with Bambustudio the printhead move in the clockwise position, so on paper it should cool the section that need it the most right away. Now...to see if this claim is true or affect something is a different beast altogether
