Sorry if this isn’t the right place for this question, but a friend of mine who passed away drove this car and I’d like to know the model for a project I’m working on
👍 I had an 87 Coupe GT that this matches, but need more pics to verify.
Not a coupe for sure.
Source: owned one too
My bets on an 86 cs. The more I look the less likely I think it is I see the Quattro script interior and glass
Agreed. Sorry, I just meant the front of it matches
Definitely no Coupe. I owned 2. The windshield is way flatter on a coupe, unless it’s a sport quattro
Yes, agreed, definitely not a Coupe. I simply meant that the front end design matched an 86-87. Sorry I made a confusing statement. I owned an 82 and an 87 Coupe and drove them over 500k miles so know them well.
Sorry to burst bubble, looks like it’s a FWD. those are rear looped headrests, the Quattros have “bump” style headrests in the rear
I thought the fwd had the cookie cutter style wheels like the earlier models had. But I think your right thinking back all my Quattros had the bump one piece molded rear seat
Cookie cutters were 84 and older. 85+ had r8s but most were still 4x100
The Quattro in the rear window heating lines is only if the car actually has a Quattro drivetrain. You can’t tell without looking under the car.
If it’s a 5-cylinder engine the rear muffler is mounted sideways on a Quattro to make room for the differential
This car looks like a lower spec Audi 80 ‘type 86’ (B2). There a no noticeable differences between different years unlike the type 82 (B1). The indicators in the headlamp suggest a basic 1.6 engine or something like that, meaning it will most probably not be a Quattro since they don’t do that on the base engine.
I owned a ‘83 US-spec and a ‘86 EU-spec coupe as my first and third car. The detail in the windshield isn’t different in a coupe. The also did it in the B3 and B4 Audi, and the 100 over the same period.
Sorry that I don’t know the American typology
One of the best cars I’ve ever owned, pour nearly a half million miles on mine. 25 Audis later age it’s one of the cars I miss most.
Thank you 🥹
I love the edgy look on old Audis
I want that exact car in my garage
Old and older.
86/87 Audi 4000 cs Quattro (not sure if 86 or 87 without seeing the seats and rear windshield. 87 had “Quattro” script in the rear windshield. Sorry if I geeked out lol I owned 7 over the years
