It’s mindlowing to me that the Hawks keep ending up and seem content with being average at best. Call a spade a spade but the Hawks are a bunch of B, C, and D players. Seeing all these other teams making power moves and the Hawks aren’t even in the conversation. I get Snyder wants to put his own team together but it seems the Hawks are stuck in a cycle of “rebuild mode” but aren’t really building anything besides a mediocre team. Hawks are looking like another Snyder team aka the Jazz who were always just semi good to mediocre. Wouldn’t be shocked if they trade Trae before the season or by the trade deadline and probably for some no name players and 3 future picks.
Tony ressler has never paid the luxury tax.
Most teams that win championships pay the luxury tax
That's not causing the failure, that's caused by the failure.
He didn't pay the tax after the ECF run to improve the team.
The team has had to sell off players for bad returns because they have to stay under the tax.
The FO is working at a disadvantage in every negotiation because every other team knows we need to be below the tax.
Even if it's not the only cause of our struggles these past two seasons, it's definitely a cause
Thank you!!
You have to pay to play! That simple. If you don’t there are teams that are willing to pay and the best players in the league will go to those teams. In your current job if another company that does the exact same thing said we will pay you more to do the exact same job - are you going to stay at your current company?
Our trade negotiating leverage would go up if we paid the tax every now and then
