Slow-Mo, AKA Clingan, has ALREADY had a pair of foot injuries. I think its a smoke screen. There's no way I'd pick someone like that in the top 10 of ANY draft. He CANT EVEN HIT FREE THROWS. If you even consider him, I'd rather just trade for Ayton or stick with Capela.

Zaccharie Risacher is only 6'8", not the 6'9 or the 6'11 as previously reported. He's a spot up shooter who can't create his own shot nor defend. If he were at least 6'10" then he could be special like a mini-Kevin Durant but at 6'8" and small hands w/ a lack of lateral quickness, I have no idea why the Hawks are even considering him. Putting him in the lineup with Trae is a quick death of any attempt at defense.

I'll say this again, as I have for the last 4 years, you unlock Trae with Athletic Defensive players around him. OO, JJ, Cam Reddish (just as an example and assume he had the right attitude and could actually shoot), Delon Wright, etc are the players that would get us into the playoffs EVERY year with a shot to win it all.

Sarr is the only choice, to be honest or possibly trade down for a Hershel Walker trade scenario. I like Castle and then you could make Clingan a backup Center.

Drafting him and holding for the highest trade bidder is a different story, one I think they should entertain but ultimately will not.

And Tatum/Curry is different bc this is the first pick. So Atlanta can (and can't take anyone). Taking a player who openly doesn't want to be here is a bad look. And probably isn't great for a super raw prospect who needs to develop.

If super raw is 20-9-3 per 36 against grown men as an 18 year old, then yeah, super raw.

He needs to further develop, but Alex Sarr can EARN an immediate rotation spot on pretty much any team in the league based on his defense and athleticism alone. The kid will average at least 12 a game his rookie year I’d confidently bet.

His offense is definitely consider raw by most evaluators. He has bad hands, is a poor finisher around the rim, sets poor screens. That’s some basic stuff you want from a center. I heard one evaluator call him very soft around the rim, and also low motor on defense when it comes to finishing plays and making second efforts. There are rebounding concerns. He’s a risky prospect with high bust potential imo. He does have high upside also.

I do think Sarr needs to be the pick. His archetype if he hits is something you can’t trade for. Even his median/low end outcome still has a lot of value come playoff time when you need to play with a big who can cover ground

People here don’t like when I mention this, but we 100% need to acknowledge that unless this next season is an overwhelming positive, we will likely be gearing up for life after Trae, whether we have our picks or not.

But, the current FO is likely ousted if this season sucks as well. Most FO don’t draft worrying about the next FO.

So we likely take Clingan or Risacher who both have the higher floor and can likely contribute to a team trying to become a perennial playoff team rather than a true contender

Clingan is fine, but he's almost 100% going to be a disappointment. People are legitimately are expecting him to come in an be Gobert for us. He'll be a fine center with the impact of Clint Capela for his first 3-4 seasons.

I'm saying go take Risacher. Easy fit into our lineup. Ya he doesn't create much, but when you're playing with Trae Young, you don't need to!

I'd start him off on the bench to be honest, but he'd be the first on the floor. He'd split time between 4/5.

He has potential to be better in drop than Capela due to his size, but he’s even worse on the perimeter where we played Capela most of the year. So we maybe get a guy who is better in the paint and Quinn totally pivots from the defensive system he was building all last year so we can play Clingan? It doesn’t make sense, Capela would be good enough if Quinn wanted to play drop coverage.

Best answer so far. If I had to make a choice between Sarr for the first pick, I would like to trade down. Let's say for 4 and 8 and 26 (trading down to 2 w/ Wizards for 2 and 26 and then to 4 and 8).

I would draft Castle and then Buzelis. I think the two of them + pick 26 is greater than Sarr.

Sarr has his downsides too. We have one of the best pick n roll ball handlers in the league and Clingan is very good in that action whereas Sarr is not. Clingan is a better passer and rebounder. You know who else is “slow”? Luka.
