My cat (female, 7y/o, mixed breed, spayed, ~15lb, healthy history) has multiple open/scabbed wounds on her chin. I thought maybe she was scraping it against the food can, so I’ve been putting her food in a bowl for the last month. The scabbing/bleeding is unchanged and she had a new cut this morning. I don’t usually see her scratching it, she is my only pet, and I live alone so idk why it’s happening. She seems happy and not in pain. I don’t have extra money but I’ll take her to the vet if necessary. Is this worth a trip?

does she go outside? or do other people live with you and your cat? there has to be a reason for the re-occurring wounds
