1966 Ford GT40, 1967 Shelby GT500, 1965 Shelby Daytona, 1965 or 66 Shelby Cobra 427. I would spend the rest of my days driving up and down the Pacific Coast
Many of them are classic rally cars: Renault Alpine A110 or 5, Audi Quattro, Lancia Delta Integrale, Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT or any of Porschee 911 70-90s year.
I chose the 66 GT40 over the newer Ford GT, but in all honesty, If I could buy one, I'd buy both. I'd drive the shit outta the Ford GT, and sit in the GT40 just giggling with a giant smile on my face, but terrified to drive it out of fear of it getting wrecked.
Senior year of high school, there was a magazine article about a car called a Pantera. Looked like a Lamborghini, had the specs of one, but was half the price. And this is before the band Pantera was nationally known.
A 1970’s era dodge pickup truck, rusted out and beat-to-hell with steel rolled bumpers front and back and a bumper sticker that says “Tailgate me, I dare you!”
Since "money is no object" I would really like a 1950's caddy with the fins and everything, but rebuilt as an EV.
The thing that stops me from considering this as a smart option is the lack of modern safety engineering. Crumple zones, air bags, collapsing steering wheel. But since money is no object, I can have all those things too.
It's a classic sports car, I'm not going to tell you which one because I don't want the prices going up. But it's not super expensive, if you're lucky and don't mind fixing things you can find one for ~$5000.
I'd take my old Datsun 510 with nice rims..lol. So many wonderful memories with my first car..first girlfriend...first road trip by myself..first road trip with closest friends. My god..it was the car I drove every day to my first real job! I guess I should pick the muscle cars from that era.the Camaro or the Firebird or the 240 Z but ...memories win out!
Weirdly, i want a dark purple Prowler, but i would upgrade the engine to something a bit beefy-er. I LOVE the look of the prowler, that was just a sexy car.
It had better come with a functioning flux capacitor AND a Mr. Fusion reactor. And puncture proof gas tank and tires. Because Indians.....
I always wondered why Doc, knowing he'd be going to the old west, didn't use, like, a jeep. Then I got a jeep and realized it doesn't actually achieve 88MPH
I'd be happy with a 65 Shelby GT350R, a 1966 Fairlane GT500 R code, a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 factory lightweight, or a 1967 L88 Corvette Stingray hardtop. Or a Weinermobile.
1966 Ford Mustang convertible matte black with pink ghost flames. Black leather interior with hot pink piping. Pink fuzzy dice on the rear view mirror.
Honda Civic Type R. I don’t understand cars really, but have loved the two Honda Civics I’ve owned, and this seems like the clear upgrade to my current car.
If we won the lottery I would restore the 1965 Pontiac Lemans my father gave me on my 18th birthday, he had bought the car years before I was even born and it sat basically my entire childhood (he gave up driving it, then eventually maintaining it because of us kids). Plus I'd have it converted to electric.
It will never happen otherwise. And is a big reason I don't really enjoy car shows anymore. I'll never make enough money to piss away 60k restoring an old car, let alone the conversion....so it's just a dream.
My bio dad's 1965 Ford Mustang convertible. It rolled off the production line in June 1964, back when the Mustangs were still fancy Fairlanes. It was bright yellow with a black soft top, and it was the prettiest car on the planet. Now both he and the car are gone to parts unknown.
There was a nice looking roadster that came out in the mid 00's. I was reminded of it when a guy at work bought one.
I decided that I was in a position that I could afford one, so, I went to test drive one. I had no problem with the top down, but with the top up, I stepped one foot in, plunked my butt into the seat, and couldn't get my other leg in the door. So much for my dream car...
Cliche, but MK4 Toyota Supra Turbo, red with manual transmission. TBF this was my dream car before Fast and Furious, and I've watched the prices go up over the years to the point where I now know I'll never realistically be able to get one.
Honestly exotics have never really done it for me but the real problem is that I, at 6'5", cannot physically fit inside of some of the cars I'd want, but assuming I could pick one car from each continent:
Maybe this is aiming low, but a 1994 Jetta Wolfsburg Edition. It’s my favorite of all the cars I’ve had and hard to find, especially in great condition.
I want this too.
I often think about this.
I work on classic cars. And am spoiled with top cars to drive with. But what I really want is a 10year old car that is known to be very reliable with very low mileage that is just nice.
1994 Ford f150. Gimme that fish tail, GIMME THAT BOX!
