At 42 years old, I've gone through a few....
Back when I was 4-6, it was Pirates Cove on the C64. This was a game on a cassette tape. I loved that stupid game. Never beat it but loved it nonetheless.
7-10 I was a Nintendo fanatic. Milon's Secret Castle was my game. I never owned it, but rented it probably 12 times and it had the mystique of having a lot of secrets to uncover.
11-high school, it was all Zelda. Got my hands on a Game Boy and a SNES and went wild with those games.
High school was all about Super Smash Brothers and Goldeneye. Those were peak multi-player games. Shout out to Mario 64, which was my favorite game until recently.
After high school, I lost touch with games... still played them, but none of them could compete with what I had in high school. Then I found FTL (Faster than light). a Roguelite on a fucking spaceship. It was perfect.
Then, there was Factorio. The greatest game of all time. Not much to say about it that hasn't already been said. It's the best of the best.
Now I'm playing Baldur's Gate 3 and really enjoying it... really, really enjoying it. But I don't think it will dethrone Factorio as my all-time favorite.
