Favorite park wether it's for walking, hanging out or just enjoy the vibe there?
I love it too but I do wish there were more trees and shade areas to lounge in.
They got a kite festival there on Saturday!
This Saturday?
mothers day solved, thank u
Los Angeles State Historic Park and Barnsdall Art Park
Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area too
Barnsdall is so nice, I was part of a show up there and it was a great venue for theater too
Griffith. It's closest to me and I've been hiking/biking it for almost two decades.
Kenneth Hahn Park
If you are a hiker or biker, this park is really great with lots of trails and is part of the Park to Playa bike path to the beach.
There are several parks all connected by trails. When I go, I park across La Cienega at Stoneview Nature Center. From there, you can hike up the hill to the back side of Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook and the top of the Culver City Steps. Loop back down and cross the bridge over La Cienega to get to the Japanese Garden and Randi's Waterfall. Keep heading up and you will get to the Upper Park where there is frisbee golf course and a hummingbird garden.
If you are going to bike to the beach, start at the Stocker Corridor Trail Head at Stocker and La Brea.
The goat IMO
Hollywood Bowl is technically a county park!
Echo Park Lake
Swans 🦢
Swan Lake?
OK GO filmed their "End Love" video here, one of my favorite music videos ever.
Ocean Park
Do you mean Cloverfield park?
I think they mean Ocean View Park?
It's actually Clover Park 😅
LA Historic Park perfect for picnics. They have a great farmers market on Thursday afternoons.
Love the place. I’ve been here long enough to see it as a cornfield
Yup, I remember the corn field.
Arroyo Seco
Malibu Creek State Park
Barnsdall and Pan Pacific Park.
I was also hoping to see Pan Pacific here. It feels like a secret hidden gem and my dog loves it there.
Pan pacific definitely a hidden gem.. Maybe we shouldn't talk about it too much!🤣
I was hoping to see Pan Pacific show up in this thread. I love that park, I walk my dogs a couple of miles to go there most days.
I wish that Pan Pacific park didn’t have such yucky bathrooms.
The Grove is so close, just go there!
Lucky enough to be staying near Pan Pacific Park for the past year. It really is lovely, and absolutely doggie heaven!
Elysian Park, no contest. Great hiking, amazing views, lush picnic canyon within an arboretum, dodger stadium, a gnarly disc golf course I don't dare to play, that weird stretch south of the 110, hell the iconic deco architecture of the 3 tunnels where the 110 goes through, and proximity to cool neighborhoods/eats--Elysian has it all!
Beyond that, Griffith of course. Also not exactly parks but I recently moved to Eagle Rock and enjoy both the Arroyo trails in Pasadena and Fiji Hill's trails/360 degree view above Occidental.
I like Elysian but Griffith feels safer like you have less of a chance of getting shanked.
haha especially the east/south side of the 110
LOL!! Right…….I would feel much safer at Griffith.
Elysian after a rain can be absolutely stunning, especially when it snows on the SGabs- but the smog can be overwhelming other times. Nevertheless it is epic
Del Rey lagoon have been riding my bike there from Inglewood since I was in high school
Catching the bike path by going all down centinela as well? I used to do this trip during my teenage years too 🤝🏻
Depends on what you want to do. If you want a stroll with great views or a nice running her lack, try Palisades Park in Santa Monica. It's about 5 miles on the bluffs above the Santa Monica Pier and the Pacific with a great running track down the middle. And you're right there at the SM Pier which is great fun for the kids.
Topanga State Part is great if you want hiking in a rustic setting but don't want the Griffith Park crowds.
If you want a soccer game, go for Pan Pacific Park with its wide open, treeless grassy field that's perfect for soccer or football. It also has the facade of the Pan Pacific Auditorium which is a great background image for p8cs and steamers.
If you want tidal pools and woodlands, try Malibu Creek Park. It's beautiful - there used to be camping, though I don't know if you still can do that.
If you're on the west side and just want a place to relax and let the kids run wild, I'd try Clover Park in Santa Monica or if you have a dog and kids, go to Santa Monica's Airport Park. Airport Park has several great nearby restaurants as well as SM Place Mall and other SM attractions.
I was going to say Palisades Park. Very scenic, always a light but very pleasant crowd just walking their dogs, doing group yoga, etc. I like to grab a coffee up the street on Montana and take a nice stroll there on the weekends. It's not chaotic like the SM Pier area which is a nice plus.
I used to produce special events in Santa Monica and loved when we did one in Pal Park. It's one of the oldest parks in California and has a very rich history. Great place!
Favorite coffee in that area?
So far it's been Primo Passo Coffee but there are many around the area I still need to try. If I'm feeling a little basic I'll go to LaLaLand for their matcha lattes.
Thank you!
Griffith Park or Dodger Stadium
Clover Park near Santa Monica Airport- the park itself is great, plus you can watch airplanes there.
Vista Hermosa in HiFi is small but feels big and remote when inside.
i love Vista Hermosa! HiFi...ah, Historic Filipinotown ok got it, hadn't heard that
Lake Hollywood Park
Angels Gate Park
Debs. Elysian. Griffith.
Deeeebs poooond!
Rancho Park
Lacy Park in San Marino!
Is this the one that has an admission fee?
Only on weekends, $5 a person, unless you're a resident of San Marino
Except for the weekends
I go walk there daily! Love it!
Literally how dare you
On State Street, that great street? I just want to say, I just want to say, they do things they don't do on Broadway!
Heritage park 🙏🏾
Love seeing Cerritos on here.
Lacy Park (pasadena/San Marino area) - most gorgeous park in the world it truly is so so pretty and peaceful.
Have to pay on weekends to enter but it’s free all week and very nice
Yes it reminds of the Huntington library but in a park form of that makes since
Yea totally 💯 love it!
Shhhh. Don’t give this secret gem of a park away 😆
😂 🤐
my favorite question - i love art barnsdall park!!!
Such amazing views
Rio de los Angeles
Burton Chace park! It's right next to the water, so you can see a ton of sea life, such as sea lions and stingrays. Also during the summer they host a bunch of free events like movie nights and dance parties and during the winter they deck the park out with holiday lights!
MacArthur
Someone had to say it.
*Aunt Viv voice: MacArthur park?!
When I first moved here we’d go to Luna Park. Get the chee fondue appetizer and a few drinks at the bar. Used to have some killer special drinks. Halloween was a cool cauldron you’d share that had steam coming out of it. Ladle that witches brew into a cup and mmm mmm mmmmmmmm.
Elysian and Griffith
El dorado
grand
Geiffith park and the little park behind LAX overlooking the ocean.
Franklin Canyon Park and Malibu Creek State Park
Griffith
Just because I live here, and there’s a massive off-leash area, Joan Milke Flores Park in San Pedro. If you’ve got puppies and live in the harbor area/ South Bay it’s a great place for a picnic!
Does the Arroyo count? I love the late afternoons as the sun goes down.
Vermont canyon or Roxbury park
Ken Malloy Regional Park
Griffith
Valley village park
Malibu Creek State Park because.... I use to work at Malibu Creek :)
Holmby Park
Palisades Park above PCH in Santa Monica <3
Wallypark Express, free shuttle to LAX
Malibu Creek State Park and it’s not even close
barnsdall, the great wall park, Sepulveda dam recreation area, chatsworth park south, orcutt ranch
Sunsets at Ascott Hills Park.
I like parallel
I like pan pacific! It's closer to my house and that makes it a good meeting place for friends. There are picnic tables, and lots of trees that provide shade. There are 2 different bathroom options, both are usually pretty clean! On weekends the parking lot can get crowded but there is plenty of street parking on the streets just north of the park.
Gonna drop my hidden gem: O’Melveny Park in Granada Hills. Great for picnics, walks, photo shoots, and excellent for hiking.
The citrus grove is so pretty!
I like clover park in Santa Monica. Lots of grass to picnic on🫶🏽
Grand park
Just went to Plummer Park in W Hollywood and it was great! Lots of grass and cute coffee shops nearby. Tons of people of all ages which I loved.
The South Bay is lousy with great parks. Wilson Park in Torrance. Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach, El Retiro Park are just lovely.
South Bay...burning the spot here but Angels Gate Park? Holy cow.
Echo Park Lake
Kenneth Hahn hands down. Saved me during the pandemic
I’m a big fan of Lake Balboa. Excellent paved walking path around the lake, lots of people so doesn’t feel dangerous. Hazards: an unreal amount of bird poo and not-nice bathrooms - both avoidable.
Del Rey Lagoon, super underrated. Great parking, beach right across the street. Cool water fowl. Great restaurants. Great Playa secret
Lacy Park in San Marino
Malibu Creek State Park
Rustic canyon
Pan pacific is my fav
Any without vagrants.
Topanga state park.. and yosemite..

The pond has so many turtles sunbathing now a days
Great view of downtown
Westchester park
MacArthur Park, great family park. I would highly recommend taking the whole family at sunset. The view is spectacular and the people are sooo kind there.
Elysian Park, Echo Park, Griffith Park, Lincoln Park, and Belvedere Community Regional Park.
Stoner park the goat!
Memorial Park in Sierra Madre is pretty!
Point Fermin Park in San Pedro next to the Pacific Ocean. The litehouse in the park is celebrating its 150 year.
Runyon Canyon!
Descanso Gardens
Will Rogers State Park - cheap parking, never too crowded, great fries, and on the beach.
I think you are talking about Will Rogers State Beach, which is between Santa Monica Canyon and Temescal off of PCH. The main lifeguard tower is where a lot of filming for the show Baywatch was set.
Will Rogers State Historic Park is also great, but is above Sunset in the Palisades. Many hiking trails with phenomenal views, house tour, horse riding lessons/trail rides, polo, picnic areas, etc.
If you are looking for a new place for a casual hike or to walk your leashed dog, check out George Wolfberg Park at Potrero Canyon, which is adjacent to the Palisades Recreation Center and runs down to just above Will Rogers State Beach.
Balboa park.
Lived near griffith, Elysian and echo park but this park has my heart.
Barnsdall park is pretty good too.
I like a busy park. If i want solitude i go camping
Macarthur Park, nowhere else
Will Rogers State Park
The Los Angeles Arboretum
The Huntington Library and Gardens
The ballpark.

Yosemite and sequoia are much favorite, but they are a few hours drive. Pollywog is a good one to take the kids to.
Joshua Tree
As if?! So I can tell you, and then it's gonna get all crowded? Pass.
I love Los Angeles state historic park. I don't live anywhere close but will grab some good food to picnic and chill there. Always a lovely time!
