Tara the cat full on body slams a dog attacking her owner's son.
I laughed when I heard that. What a common cat tactic!
Cat probably overheard that neighbours dog plotting the assault! "Well, well - guess who's gonna be a hero soon.."
first time the cat entered the house - "I liked the house... you can still live here, humans. I don't mind sharing my house with you, we can be friends"
six years later - "Don't touch my little human!"
That's how we got my cats growing up too, two of them followed us home as kittens at the park, someone dumped the litter of them in the bushes, the one that didn't get hit by a car and die a few years later used to scrap with dogs too, it actually saved our dog coming to it's aid when other dogs invaded, and vice versa, nothing can fight like a cat pound for pound.
Honey badger?
No one fights honey badger. No matter the weight 😆
“Likely to be destroyed” is one helluva way to say you’re putting down the dog
They fed it a hand grenade
Lmao
Eat a granade for yaaa...chew neighbour kid's leg for yaaaa...
Lmaooo
Just wrap it in some baloney
One last game of “fetch.”
I fuckin died when I heard that.
Honestly I browse Reddit far more than I care to admit at work and I have never laughed out loud no matter what I saw..
But damn.. I couldn't hold it in for some reason when I heard that..
and I had to explain to coworkers that I was laughing at a dog possibly getting "destroyed"..
I lost it at the destroyed part. That's some real shit.
I want your job where I can get paid to browse reddit.

It's because animals are seen as property. You don't kill a chair, you destroy it.
Destroyed? I was so confused I laughed. Then felt horrible
Its the term regularly used for dangerous feral animals. As opposed to put down for family animals. Destroyed indicates that they arnt being viewed as loved ones but as a pest. Think of it like saying your executing someone as opposed to killing them.
Yes, I execute strangers, family gets properly killed!
Honestly same- it's just such a violent, out of pocket word for it. "DESTROYED" as opposed to put down- who wrote that script???

And for humans they use neutralized
He already got destroyed by the Queen
It feels by destroyed it might be they will sit the dog Infront of like 15 people keep shouting at him "bad doggo" until he die of depression or something
They’re going to incinerate the dog
Was expecting to hear being put down at the end but the “to be destroyed” caught me off guard so bad lol
I'm so scared of my dog nipping someone in play, like if a kid grabs her ball and runs or something, and her being put down, usually they can get a warning in those cases I've been told, but this case isn't that, this dog is a danger and straight up seriously attacked.
Omg right? Jesus
Agreed, it's pretty standard nomenclature but damn it feels so harsh (even if it's perhaps the right call here).
Is that not common for putting an animal down where you live? Where I live it's the go-to term, especially for farmers when you're talking about killing an animal for food vs. killing it for health or behavior issues.
They should have said terminated lol
So . . . not a rap battle, then.
🤣
Exactly…
IKR? Like bad dog, but goddamn 😂
Imaging hearing this when you have a terminally ill pet.
I’m a dog loving maniac, but that dog needs to be put down immediately. Attack a kid for no reason whatsoever? Nope. Gotta go.
The scriptwriter used the right synonym for "kill" lmao
You don’t fuck with a basic tabby. They take no shit from anyone
FFS another one I have to sub…
My same thoughts.
THANK YOU! I found a sub for every other color and pattern of cat and couldn’t figure out where the brown tabbies were!
Would you be willing to share your list of color specific cat subs so I can make sure I am not missing any?
I'd be interested too
Another day another cat sub
Oh definitely, my mom was a foster so growing up we had a lot of cats that stayed with us. It was the tabby's that could fuck shit up. If there was a fight, you were guaranteed that there was at least a tabby or two involved. Got me a kitten tabby when i moved out, dude is insane.
I have a tabby for around 3 years now and goddamn is she a whirlwind! She can be an absolute gentle sweetheart but she will fuck shit up if she’s in a bad mood. Never thought that was something tabby-related though…
That cat looked so resigned to being lovingly squished by the kid at the end
omg there are over 40k comments LOL
Tara used tackle! It was super effective!
You mean Body Slam? Tackle does nothing.
Neither of those moves are actually capable of being super effective outside of inverse battles.
An old story but still awesome
Well I feel like the owners of the dog should take responsibility. Cat was amazing saving the kid!!! But I feel like probably the dog was raised without proper training and just didn't know any better. Again animals suffer because of the mistakes humans make. Ofcourse I don’t know the full story but this is just my suspicion.
From memory, the dog involved in this story had a history of being very aggressive and attacking other people/ animals.
It had shitty owners, there’s no such thing as a bad dog only bad dog owners. Shitty Owners Abuse that dog, I guarantee you that. That’s the only reason why that dog did what I did and it suffered because it had shitty owners
Most times it is like that, perhaps this case too. I don’t believe that any animals are evil, it is hard to hate something that doesn’t decide what it will become. I pity the dog, but sometimes putting them down is the easiest option. Most people don’t value animals very high, not many are ready to put in the effort and money for a troubled animal to get help. And frankly, we don’t know how to help sometimes.
But it’s the truth and people don’t like it. Calling a spade a spade.
You’re absolutely right that most people don’t value animals that’s why I’m getting a down voted
Yeah I’m unsure as to why people downvote you, most aggresive dogs are raised wrongly. My friend’s grandparents had a dog that was aggresive and it ended with them putting it down. My friend was unhappy because he knew this dog could be very loving and had his grandparents not been terrible owners perhaps the dog would still be alive. I sincerely hope and believe that it will get better. In my experience, younger generations have more care for animal life.
No clue why you’re being downvoted, you’re absolutely correct. This dog was more than likely raised by shitty owners (hence being outside unleashed). It’s unfortunate that this dog acted the way it did and got put down for it. I hope the owners had to at least pay a fine or something.
I feel bad for the dog because I feel like it was abused by the owners to make it do that to a kid. The dog was mistreated for sure and then it got punished because it didn’t know any better and it didn’t have any proper love. There is no such thing as a bad dog only bad dog owners
That’s a familiar if I’ve ever seen one
I love this perspective!
Unlimited cat treats for life!!
I wonder what was going on in the cat's head while she was doing that?
Mother instinct probably
I think a lot of animals can recognize human children vs adults and understand they should be treated differently (either by just indulging children more, or by full on protecting them). One of my cats has a pretty short temper if you try and manhandle him, but when my nephew (3 at the time) dragged him around by his tail he just kind of took it.
I of course put a stop to it the moment I noticed, but I'll always remember his resigned little face. Like "I can't claw a tiny human. Help, please?"
I’ve always been impressed that cats (and dogs I’m sure) are able to make this distinction. Makes me feel like they are genuinely understand more than we give them credit for.
There's a lot of common things that mark young of any species. Mostly body proportion, general size etc, but also scents.
They're used to spotting and looking out for young in their own groups, so when they consider us part of their pack/colony they look out for ours.
Definitely! Our cat knew as soon as I was pregnant and has treated our boy like her kitten ever since he was born (he's five now and things are definitely changing but she still treats him differently to us). There was one time my husband was giving our (then still tiny) son a bath and he was NOT happy about it, and our cat literally ran into the bathroom and leapt onto my husband's shoulders to try and protect the baby!!
Damn, man I love animals.
That last line had me go lol
She's like no one annoys my hooman other than me
And you dare, you DARE!! TO HURT HIM
I feel like it was more like MOTHER FUCKER!!!
It was the perfect excuse to fuck up the neighbor’s punk ass dog and be lauded as a hero.
Now that's business.
Fuck that stupid dog...
Yeah dog fucked around and found out
Dog
“That son of a bitch better not be”
I had seen this video a few times but never the story.
What about the owner of the dog? Isn't he more liable for what has happened? The dog got destroyed, yeah, but that neighbor deserves at least a percussive priority adjustment to the face.
The neighbor gets destroyed too
Fed him a hand grenade 💥
I honestly had the same question. How come the owner of that dog faced no penalty? Why was the dog loose outside? He/she could’ve been breeding fight dogs cause that type of behavior in a dog is not normal.
Exactly!
Exactly my thought too. The dog gets the death penalty for being trained to be vicious and aggresive, but the owner goes scot-free who probably trained it to be so in the first place. That is sad.
They likely were. It wasn't a segment on law and order.
| a percussive priority adjustment to the face
Forever this language, but the sentiment as well.
Only the 8 month old puppy was punished in the incident. Owners relinquished the dog and it was put down.
I’m glad they put it down. I don’t care if you call it a puppy, it’s obviously vicious and dangerous and should be destroyed. Don’t try and make it sound cute by calling it a puppy
It’s that way due to the owners. And if it was vicious why would they let it out. I’m not opposed to putting it down but the owners should’ve been fined
You don’t know that. You don’t know why the dog is like that. Some of them are born that way some of them are bred to be that way. You can’t always blame the owners when dogs kill in maul hundreds of thousands a year. I get it… You like dogs and you don’t want to believe that they could be bad, but guess what, you are not informed. People let vicious dogs out all the time because “my puppers would never do that”
That's not how genetics work. A dog is not born inherently aggressive just like humans are not born inherently bad. You can't just breed a particularly aggressive dog in such few generations, and no dog breed is particularly vicious.
Yes, you can always blame the owners if the dog does something it shouldn't. Accidents do happen, but it's still the responsibility of the owner. That dog should have clearly been trained better and not out and about.
Hell, even if that dog WAS born aggressive (which it wasn’t) it’s still up to the owners to train it and keep it away from things it will be aggressive towards.
A dog that's less than a year old is by definition a puppy. Your reaction is akin to calling a 10 year old who did something bad a man, and asking to not make him sound cute by calling him a child.
I've seen this video posted in many ways at least a hundred times. I can't help but upvote Tara! She is such a good kitty!
I wasn't sure if it was a new video from the title so started watching anyway. As soon as the CCTV of the incident started I realised I have seen before, but thought 'yeah, this cat kicks ass and deserves all the credit she gets', so watched it again, a couple of times, and always will.
Why don’t people tale care of there fucking animals? Like seriously, I was in my yard yesterday and went to check on the plants I’ve been growing for a month and a half for my science project and my neighbors dog had dug in the pot and killed 3 of the 5
Oh no.
Where I live, you are allowed to shoot an animal on your property, Especially if it is damaging it or posing a danger
You live in an awful shithole then.
Probably just a rural area. Laws like that help keep wild animals from destroying crops. My father in law will kill wild rabbits and the like that repeatedly damage his garden (which provides a good proportion of their vegetables for the year) but then he’ll also eat the animal he killed.
Shooting a wild animal that you're allowed to hunt at your property is very different from being able to shoot ANY animal that enters your property. Especially if it's someone else's pet.
That dog was hunting that poor kid. That wasn't some reactionary bite or something. I hope the dog was put down. (I am at work so I can't watch with sound).
It was a 6 month old dog they did put him down down a dog like that shouldn't be aggressive is it aggressive the people will probably be mean to it not the kid I mean the owners
Or there can be something wrong with the dog too. Inbreeding or whatever. Sad situation, but awesome cat!
Behavioral things are not really a dogs fault thing. This is almost always strictly shit training esp in a 6 month old. The fact that it's casually able to walk our into the street in public should tell you enough of how it is being raised. It's like saying a 12 year olds Behavior problem is the 12 year old's fault instead of the parents who didn't get if psychological or medical help it needed or raise it correctly.
This completely ignores genetic issues, aggression can absolutely be caused by bad breeding.
Or just individuals. They are still individuals. I've never had a dog I couldn't make love me till I saw my highschool best friends dog that his parents had raised. It was very clear just by it's eyes that you didn't get close to it or it would attack, and he warned me enough that I listened and never tried.
No, some dogs can be more prone to aggressive behavior or more likely to be disobedient dogs and require more training but it is never at fault of the dog's breed that a dog is aggressive. If it's a aggressive breed as an adult or a grown dog this is 100% the owner's fault via neglect or inability to control or get help for the dog.
It is never a tool's fault for it being neglected and no longer functioning as intended but the user. It can be a cujo but then it shouldn't be accessible to public or even as a pet. This is never a dog issue and any court will stand by that.
This is a stupid comment. Aggressive behavior absolutely CAN be genetic and should be bred out or culled.
I hope the owners got sued the shit out of them.
Posted on the same day a 10yr old was killed by a dog in South Wales. These stories don't always have happy endings, and rarely do for any of the participants involved :(
Tara won the "Dog of the Year Award" the year this happened. Ron Swanson style.
That's one cool cat.
I'll see myself out ;-)
I get so fuckin emotional over these. Animals make humans look like the worse so often.
I mean… the dog was pretty terrible though..
inproperly trained : ( or even worse- trained to be mean for dogfights and such
There are shit humans by nature, there are shit dogs and cats by nature. Yes, dogs and cats are not humans, but there are many with presets that are undesirable.
I don't think there are shitty humans by nature unless they have some sort of extreme personality disorder which can usually be managed, and even then I'd be hesitant to call them shitty by nature. Same with dogs.
Well, a personality disorder is still nature, it's a disease. Dogs and cats can have these too. The brain is such a delicate thing.
Yeah. It attacked a toddler out of nowhere so that was terrible.
Well i mean obviously? That is why proper owners are super important
It is more the act itself. How ften in 2021 is somebody coming to your defense? When it does happen we create heroes out of othem. This cat showed no hesitation in taking on a larger animal to protect its bonded human. This cat didn't need instagram to do the right thing!
I had a childhood cat that used to beat up the neighborhood dogs.
It tickled my dad so much! He bragged about him a lot!
Old as fuck but still golden. They sued them and the cat got a whole halibut for dinner.
“Cats aren’t loyal” “Cats aren’t compassionate”
Such a good girl... dogs get all the glory, as well they should, but cats will surprise you (plus, bad interactions with an asshole cat rarely require a hospital visit)
THIS
Tara the Tabby is a boss. 💌
This is an oldie but a goodie, that cat is awesome
I clicked on this video expecting a cat to body slam a dog like Hulk Hogan did to the 660lb smelly, angry, Andre the Giant in front of 600,000 screaming Hulkamaniacs at the Pontiac Silverdome, Brother! I still enjoyed this footage.
Cats can and do recognize humans as part of their family unit. The same way they watch other cats kittens. So she likely viewed the boy as HER child not just A child, aka one sprint to fuck me up fam for the dog. Cats are amazing.
Animals can be amazing.
When you give something unconditional love, it’s payed back ten fold. Try to remember that the next time you dislike someone because of their worst mistake or a bad moment .
when the little boy says youre my hero T_T
Damn son this is old.
The cat just returning like"is the child ok" was the cutest thing. Even if i have seen this vid multiple times, its still cute
That cat just tolerated being manhandled by the little boy… cool cat… sad about the dog but if it’s attacking small children it shouldn’t be near kids… too bad they couldn’t take it to a farm or a to a trainer… the owners of that dog are the ones who should be put down, not the dog
Cats are sometimes not assholes
Likely to be destroyed yup just gunna make get turned to dust
Damn that’s a badass cat
This is sooo old.
Maybe the cat will sit on the fence of the dog to torment him and then he will end up hanging himself. That dog needs to go… bye bye, Felicia.
She Tara that dog a new one.
This is years old I swear
Is there anything that happens to the dog‘s owners in this situation? Otherwise they can just go and adopt another dog that they most likely won‘t train either so the whole thing will just repeat itself.
What a good girl!!!!! Baby tf out her till the end! ❤️
Awww good kitty protect that baby!
What's the breed? Hero.
The dog seems to be some sort of pitbull breed, and the cat is probably an American shorthair
This thing is so old, it's strange to see it re-posted so many years later, and seeing such lively debate on it without leading comments calling it out.
This is so old that the kid is probably done with college by now
I love that Tara went all-in on Ride or Die with her tiny human.
I remember when this story happened, such an epic little kitty. I liked hearing this lady tell the story though, lol.
And omg, the cat was a r/nowmycat! That’s just the cherry on top!
Lol "the dog was taken away. And it's likely going to be destroyed" idk why I laughed at that. The phrasing is just so idk. Weirdly put together haha
"The dog is taken away and is being destroyed." So that's one way to say they killed it.
Never gets old!
"Dog is likely to be destroyed" That's one way to put it
Yeah I’ve seen this video! That cat deserves a damn medal
That ending though it need to also be posted on r/unexpected
That dog is getting the old winter is coming treatment.
This is years old. Why do people keep reposting this?
Nice kitty tho!
Super old. Nice to watch it again tho.
Is Tara still alive?
Cats can live into their 20s, so it is very possible she is still alive and kicking!
We only want to see the cat body slamming the dog…we don’t want the talking head
"Her owner's son" so her human brother?
I’m pretty sure if a human woman birthed a dog it would have been on the news.
This happened a few years ago. It was posted on facebook when this happened and was on Inside Edition.
Dog was a lab / chow chow mix, for anyone wondering.
Imaging reposting an already over reposted content but adding a useless speech in the first part.
they should destroy the jackass owner for not having his dog leashed. the dog messed up but how about just finding it a home with some more responsible owners?
Wow that only the seventh time ive seen this vid
C’mon man.. we’ve seen this video a 1000 times. Are they bots or just karma whores? Damn
Sad that the dog could have lived if their owner wasn't so reckless
Who in the hell uses he word “destroyed” when referring to an animal being put down?
I wouldn't call that a full on body slam.
exactly, not sure why the downvotes. It's a misleading title. That's a "full on hip-check". And this is a repost from so long ago it almost looks like 90's video quality. FML.
Yeah I don't understand the downvotes either. Just pointing out the misleading title. Totally agree it's a full on hip-check.
Unlimited baby rabbits and voles for that cat. That’s what my tabby destroys all over my yard and garage. The blood sometimes. Ugh. Dead rabbits smell like dead fish after a day or two I’d go unnoticed.
r/dogfree is the way to be.
Wtf! The last couple of seconds, " the dog has been taken away and maybe destroyed" did I understand it correctly? !
They can train the dog. Wtf
That was an unprovoked dog attack. Wouldn’t trust it ever, no matter how much training.
Dog learns from owners... So.,?
Yes, when they’re young. Ever heard of “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”
“Followed them home from the park and never left”, if that isn’t the most cat thing I’ve heard in while idk what is.
