News & politics from AfricaUpon reading the article, you'll realize that it's a pro-Israel perception of the ICC. Here, the ICC has a mostly negative opinion. It is seen as an international body that ignores the crimes of big and powerful nations while targeting small nations relentlessly. I believe, as the article states, that the ICC should be fully independent. Meaning all its funding shouldn't be dependent on politics or states' influence. How that mechanism is created, or if it is plausible, is another conodrum in itself.
The US threatened ICC officials and staff with sanctions if the court proceeds with its ruling. No state should be able to do so. Neither rich or poor. This is obstruction of justice and further proves South Africa is right. If the US believe they are not commuting a genocide why threaten the court?
A decentralized and powerful ICC is against the interest of almost all top powerful nations. Most of the current and previous leaders would be in prison.
The US passed a law that allows them to invade The Hague and use violence to recover their people should the ICC ever arrest them.
There is no genocide in Gaza, and South Africas ANC party was paid by Iran to raise the frivolous lawsuit.
If it comes to payment. Who do you think has more money to offer... Sanctioned Iran or the so called "chosen ones"?
